Athena, a powerful strategist and fighter, expertly defended her lines against the Emperor Faction's forces, inflicting heavy casualties while suffering minimal losses. Frustrated commanders dispatched ten elite Sixth Order cultivators to neutralize her, successfully encircling her and forcing her to focus solely on defense. Despite her best efforts, Athena sustained serious injuries as the cultivators relentlessly attacked, preventing her from commanding her troops or aiding her allies.

Seeing Athena lying inside the crater, the ten Sixth Order cultivators immediately began preparing their next attacks. Although they had successfully injured her several times, none of them dared to underestimate the Goddess of Wisdom.

After all, even while fighting against all ten of them, Athena had managed to defend herself for a surprisingly long time. She had also injured two of their companions during the battle.

"Be careful! Don’t approach her carelessly! She’s still dangerous!" One of the cultivators warned while looking at Athena.

Athena slowly pushed herself up from the ground. Blood was flowing from the corner of her mouth, and her breathing had become noticeably heavier. The pain coming from her injuries was making it increasingly difficult for her to move.

However, despite her terrible condition, her eyes remained focused on the ten cultivators surrounding her.

She understood that panicking would only make the situation worse. As the Goddess of Wisdom, Athena knew better than anyone that losing control of her emotions during a battle could easily lead to her death.

She quickly examined the positions of her enemies and began calculating their possible movements. Although they were working together extremely well, their cooperation was not perfect.

There were still small gaps in their formation. Unfortunately, taking advantage of those gaps would require her to move much faster than she currently could. Her injuries had already begun affecting her speed, and she could feel her strength slowly decreasing.

"She’s seriously injured! We should finish her before she finds a way to escape!" One of the Sixth Order cultivators shouted.

Hearing this, three cultivators immediately rushed toward Athena. One approached from the front, while the other two moved toward her left and right sides. Athena immediately understood what they were planning. The cultivator in front was supposed to keep her attention occupied, while the other two would attack her from the sides.

Instead of retreating, Athena suddenly rushed toward the cultivator standing directly in front of her. Her unexpected movement caught the man off guard. Before he could properly react, Athena had already reached him and launched a powerful attack toward his chest.

The cultivator was sent flying backwards, coughing out blood as he crashed into the ground. However, Athena had no time to celebrate. The moment she attacked, the remaining cultivators immediately took advantage of the opening she had created. A sharp blade suddenly pierced through Athena’s left shoulder from behind.

Athena cried out in pain as the blade entered her flesh. Before she could turn around, another powerful attack struck her directly in the ribs, sending her flying through the air. Athena managed to stop herself before crashing into the ground, but the sudden movement caused even more blood to flow from her injuries.

Her left arm was now almost completely useless, and she could barely move it without experiencing terrible pain.

The ten cultivators quickly surrounded her again, refusing to give her any opportunity to escape.

At this point, Athena understood that continuing to fight them directly would only result in her death. She needed to find another way out of this situation. However, before she could come up with a proper plan, the cultivators began preparing another coordinated attack.

This time, all ten of them were preparing to attack together. Athena looked at the powerful attacks gathering around her and immediately realised that she would not be able to avoid all of them.

Even if she managed to defend herself against half of their attacks, the remaining attacks would be more than enough to seriously injure her. And considering her current condition, another round of attacks like this could very well end her life. Despite understanding the danger, Athena did not lose her composure. Instead, she took a deep breath and began gathering her remaining strength.

Just when everything seemed hopeless for Athena, something unexpected suddenly happened.

The sky above the entire battlefield began to darken at an extremely fast speed. Thick, dark clouds appeared out of nowhere and quickly spread in every direction, covering the sky as far as the eye could see. Within just a few seconds, the bright sky that had been above the battlefield moments earlier had almost completely disappeared behind the enormous dark clouds.

However, what made these clouds even more unusual was the crimson lightning moving inside them. Countless crimson lightning bolts could be seen moving through the dark clouds, appearing and disappearing every few seconds.

Unlike ordinary lightning, these crimson lightning bolts did not immediately strike the ground. Instead, they continued moving through the clouds, almost as if countless crimson snakes were swimming inside them.

As the dark clouds continued spreading, the sound of thunder began echoing across the battlefield. The thunder was so loud that even the sounds of hundreds of thousands of soldiers fighting against each other were temporarily covered by it.

At the same time, the temperature around the battlefield began dropping, and powerful winds started blowing across the Northern Grassy Plains.

A few seconds later, the first droplets of rain began falling from the sky. However, what started as a few scattered droplets quickly turned into extremely heavy rainfall. Large droplets of rain poured down from the dark clouds, soaking the soldiers, their armor, and the ground beneath their feet.

Within a short period, the dry soil began turning muddy, while blood that had gathered on the battlefield slowly mixed with the rainwater.

And the rain was not limited to the battlefield alone. The enormous dark clouds had spread far beyond the Northern Grassy Plains, covering a much larger area. Even the camps belonging to the Anti-Emperor Faction and the Emperor Faction were now experiencing the same heavy rainfall.

The sudden change in weather immediately caught the attention of countless soldiers from both factions. Many of them instinctively raised their heads and looked toward the dark sky, wondering how such enormous clouds could have appeared so suddenly. Some soldiers even stopped fighting for a brief moment after noticing the strange crimson lightning moving through the clouds.

"What the hell is happening? Where did these dark clouds come from?" One of the Emperor Faction’s soldiers asked while looking at the sky with a confused expression.

"I don’t know! But I’ve never seen crimson lightning moving through clouds like that before!" Another soldier replied while using his arm to wipe the rainwater from his face.

However, while most of the soldiers were confused by the sudden change in weather, there were also some who immediately understood what was happening. The moment they noticed the dark clouds and the crimson lightning moving inside them, their expressions changed completely.

Instead of showing fear or confusion, smiles appeared on their faces. Some of them even began feeling excited, as they knew exactly what the appearance of those dark clouds meant.

Meanwhile, the ten Sixth Order cultivators surrounding Athena did not pay much attention to the sudden change in the atmosphere. Although they had noticed the dark clouds and the heavy rainfall, their main focus remained on killing the Goddess of Wisdom.

After all, they had already managed to seriously injure Athena, and they knew that allowing her to recover would only make their situation more difficult. They had spent considerable effort surrounding and weakening her, and none of them wanted to waste this opportunity simply because the weather had suddenly changed.

"Ignore the rain! Finish her now!" One of the Sixth Order cultivators shouted as he rushed toward Athena with his sword.

Following his command, the remaining nine cultivators also launched their attacks. Some approached Athena directly with their weapons, while others released powerful attacks from a distance to prevent her from escaping. Their attacks came from several different directions, leaving Athena with almost no room to move.

Athena immediately understood that she was in serious danger. Her left shoulder had been pierced earlier, and the injuries across her body had greatly reduced her fighting ability. Although she could still move, she was no longer fast enough to avoid all ten attacks coming toward her at the same time.

Among the ten cultivators, the swordsman approaching from the front was moving the fastest. He had already pulled ahead of the others by several meters, and the sharp tip of his sword was rapidly approaching Athena’s throat.

Seeing that Athena was unable to move away in time, a cruel smile appeared on the man’s face. He tightened his grip around his sword and increased his speed, determined to finish her with a single strike.

However, just as the tip of his sword was about to reach Athena, something happened that none of the ten cultivators could have possibly expected.

The space directly between Athena and the tip of the approaching sword suddenly began to distort. The distortion was extremely small and lasted for only a few nanoseconds. It happened so quickly that none of the cultivators noticed anything unusual. Even the swordsman himself was completely unaware that the space directly in front of him had changed.

In the very next instant, a figure suddenly appeared between Athena and the approaching sword.
