Malakor Harrington is confronted by three Seventh Order cultivators, but their standoff is interrupted by a massive, distant explosion. Meanwhile, Athena, the Goddess of Wisdom, is cornered by ten Sixth Order cultivators from the Emperor Faction. Despite being trapped, she skillfully directs the Anti-Emperor Faction's army, thwarting enemy tactics and saving soldiers from traps and ambushes.

In fact, before the ten Sixth Order cultivators had surrounded her, Athena had already defeated several powerful enemies who had attempted to break through the Anti-Emperor Faction’s defensive lines.

What made her even more troublesome was that she could continue giving orders while fighting. Even when she was exchanging attacks with a powerful Sixth Order cultivator, a part of her attention would remain focused on the surrounding battlefield. She would constantly observe the movements of the soldiers and adjust her orders depending on how the situation changed.

If the Emperor Faction suddenly changed its formation, Athena would immediately respond by changing the formation of the soldiers under her command. If the enemy attempted to launch a surprise attack, Athena would often notice the preparations before the attack even began.

And if the Emperor Faction tried to overwhelm the Anti-Emperor Faction through superior numbers in one particular area, Athena would simply order her soldiers to retreat a short distance while reinforcements moved into position.

Instead of allowing her soldiers to fight battles where they were at a disadvantage, Athena constantly created situations where they had the advantage. As a result, the difference in casualties between the two factions had become extremely large in the part of the battlefield she was commanding.

While the Emperor Faction was rapidly losing soldiers, the Anti-Emperor Faction was suffering almost no casualties in comparison. Of course, this did not mean that none of their soldiers was dying. This was still a massive war, and it was impossible to completely avoid casualties. However, compared to the number of enemy soldiers being killed, the Anti-Emperor Faction’s losses were extremely small.

In some areas, the Emperor Faction was losing hundreds of soldiers while the Anti-Emperor Faction was losing only a handful. And as time passed, the difference continued growing. The Emperor Faction’s commanders were becoming increasingly frustrated. No matter what strategy they used, Athena always seemed to find a way to counter it.

If they attacked directly, their soldiers would be stopped by a prepared defensive formation. If they attempted to surround the Anti-Emperor Faction’s soldiers, Athena would notice their movements and order her soldiers to retreat before the trap could be completed.

If they tried to lure the Anti-Emperor Faction into chasing retreating soldiers, Athena would immediately order them to stop. Even when the Emperor Faction managed to create a small advantage somewhere, Athena would quickly send reinforcements or change the formation to prevent them from taking advantage of it.

The situation had become so frustrating that some of the Emperor Faction’s commanders began believing that defeating Athena was more important than defeating the soldiers under her command.

After all, as long as Athena remained on the battlefield, she would continue helping the Anti-Emperor Faction gain an advantage. Eventually, the Emperor Faction decided that they could no longer allow her to continue commanding the battle.

They gathered ten powerful Sixth Order cultivators and gave them a single objective.

Stop Athena from interfering with the battle, no matter what.

They did not necessarily need to kill her immediately. Even if they could simply keep her occupied and prevent her from giving orders, that would already be a major victory for the Emperor Faction.

Without Athena constantly directing the soldiers, the Emperor Faction’s commanders believed that they would finally have a chance to turn the situation around. And that was exactly what the ten Sixth Order cultivators were currently trying to accomplish.

At that moment, Athena was standing at the centre of their encirclement. Three cultivators were positioned in front of her, two were standing behind her, while the remaining five had spread out around her sides and above her.

They were maintaining enough distance between themselves to avoid being caught in the same attack, but they were also close enough to immediately support one another. Whenever Athena attempted to attack one of them, the others would immediately move to protect that person.

And whenever she tried to escape from the encirclement, two or three cultivators would quickly move to block her path.

"Athena, you should stop wasting your strength. There’s no way you’re escaping from here while all ten of us are surrounding you." One of the Sixth Order cultivators said with a confident expression.

Athena did not respond to his words. Instead, she briefly glanced toward the distant location where Lilith and Amelia were fighting against the Puppet Master.

She could clearly see that both women were in serious trouble. However, before she could properly observe their situation, two of the Sixth Order cultivators suddenly rushed toward her from opposite directions.

One attacked her from the front with a powerful sword strike, while the other approached from behind with a spear aimed directly at her back.

Athena immediately moved to avoid the two attacks. However, just as she was about to counterattack, another cultivator suddenly appeared above her and released a powerful attack toward her position.

Athena was forced to abandon her counterattack and move away once again. This was the biggest problem she was facing. Individually, none of these ten cultivators was powerful enough to make her feel completely helpless. However, when they worked together, their combined attacks became extremely troublesome.

Whenever Athena found an opening to attack one cultivator, another would immediately interfere. Whenever she attempted to create some distance between herself and her opponents, they would quickly close the gap and surround her again.

And whenever she tried to look toward the battlefield and give orders to the soldiers, they would immediately increase the pressure on her, forcing her to concentrate on defending herself.

Athena understood exactly what they were trying to accomplish. They wanted to keep her so busy that she would no longer have enough time to command the Anti-Emperor Faction’s soldiers.

And unfortunately, their strategy was beginning to work. Although Athena was still able to observe parts of the battlefield, she could no longer give orders as frequently as before. She was being forced to spend most of her attention defending herself against the ten Sixth Order cultivators.

This was especially frustrating because she knew that every second she remained trapped here was another second during which the soldiers under her command would have to fight without her guidance.

More importantly, Lilith and Amelia were still in danger. Athena once again looked toward their location, and her expression became increasingly serious when she noticed that both women had suffered even more injuries.

She wanted to go and help them immediately. However, the ten Sixth Order cultivators surrounding her had absolutely no intention of allowing that to happen. Although she was an extremely powerful Sixth Order cultivator, fighting against ten cultivators of the same Order was simply too difficult. Even with her intelligence and experience, there was a limit to how many attacks she could defend against at the same time.

The ten cultivators were also becoming increasingly aggressive. After realising that Athena was struggling to escape their encirclement, they began attacking her without giving her even a second to rest.

Two cultivators suddenly rushed toward Athena from the front, while another three attacked her from behind and from both sides. Athena immediately moved to avoid the first two attacks before turning around and blocking a powerful sword strike aimed at her back.

However, just as she successfully blocked the sword, another cultivator suddenly appeared on her right side and struck her with a powerful palm attack.

The attack landed directly against Athena’s shoulder, sending her flying several meters backward. Although she managed to regain her balance before falling, a sharp pain spread through her shoulder.

Before Athena could recover, another cultivator rushed toward her and attacked with a spear. Athena quickly moved her body to the side, narrowly avoiding the spear aimed at her chest. However, the sharp blade still managed to cut across her waist, leaving behind a deep wound.

Blood immediately began flowing from the injury, staining her clothes. Athena gritted her teeth and quickly retreated, but the ten cultivators had no intention of allowing her to escape.

"Don’t give her any time to recover! Keep attacking!" One of the Sixth Order cultivators shouted. Following his command, the others immediately increased the speed of their attacks.

Athena continued defending herself while searching for an opportunity to break through their encirclement. She successfully avoided several attacks and even managed to injure one of her opponents with a powerful counterattack.

However, every time she tried to focus on defeating one cultivator, the others would immediately attack her from different directions. And eventually, another attack managed to reach her.

A powerful kick struck Athena directly in the stomach, forcing her to bend forward. Before she could straighten her body, another cultivator appeared behind her and struck her back with his weapon.

Athena was sent crashing into the ground, creating a small crater upon impact.

Athena coughed out a mouthful of blood as she struggled to push herself up. Her shoulder was injured, a deep wound had appeared across her waist, and several of her internal organs had suffered damage from the repeated attacks.
