Zac and Esmeralda traversed the corrupted lands of the Mercurial Court, facing temporal quagmires and hostile illusions. They encountered a river of corrupted Temporal Energy, which Zac bypassed using a new voidwalking ability. Meanwhile, Zac emerged from seclusion to find the Fuxi Halls devastated. He met an old Templar who advised him to travel the mountains and valleys to learn from the land's rebirth. Following this guidance, Zac discovered a hidden illusion barrier and the desiccated corpse of an old foe, possibly an imperial from the Pesvati Rift.
