Apocalyptic Rebirth: With a repairman system space, she rises again. Chapter 791 791: Epilogue.
Previously on Apocalyptic Rebirth: With a repairman system space, she rises again....
1 Year and 5 Months after the Great Calamity.
The heavens above remained undisturbed, a testament to the Grand Masters' diligent work. Earning a living without the looming threat of the Watchers, the oppressive mist, and the hellish afflictions that once plagued Earth felt profoundly strange, almost unnervingly quiet. Yet, fear still lingered in the air; screams and frantic dashes became ingrained reactions whenever anything large loomed in the sky.
It was undeniable that Earthlings suffered from a collective alien PTSD. Gone were the daydreams of encountering extraterrestrial civilizations. Most people even avoided sci-fi flicks depicting alien invasions; the subject was too raw, too deeply resented.
Sunshine appeared in a much more formal attire, a sophisticated black and pink suit emblazoned with the organization's logo on the back. Today marked her graduation, the day she officially became a Grand Master of the Repairman Organization and was bestowed her badge of honor.
For the past sixteen months, she had dedicated herself to studying and working with the same intensity as if the apocalypse were still raging and a fractured sky depended on her mending. Her unwavering efforts bore fruit, culminating in her becoming the youngest Grand Master currently alive.
Her determined struggle for justice and internal reform within the organization had also proven victorious. A thorough investigation into the Organization's hidden vaults unearthed a veritable treasure trove of corruption... corrupt officials who had colluded with Zevran. The councilwoman had masterfully orchestrated a vast criminal enterprise right under everyone's watchful eyes.
Sunshine devoted her spare moments to assisting the authorities, relentlessly pursuing and apprehending these criminals with the tenacity of a bloodhound.
"Let's move," Hades boomed, his impatience startling her.
Sunshine yearned to tell her husband to calm down, but he was restlessly pacing like a caged beast. For the very first time, the entire family was journeying to Glacis to commemorate her elevation to Grand Master. The King himself was hosting a celebratory feast in her honor, and the entire sea kingdom was abuzz with the festivities.
"I'm ready!" Ariel announced, striding into the living room.
All eyes turned towards him in unison. Ariel was clad in a miniature replica of the Repairman uniform, complete with a tiny tool belt and a cap that perched a bit too large upon his head.
"Just look at him," Sunshine cooed, her heart overflowing with affection. "My little successor."
Ariel puffed out his chest proudly. "It's hardly surprising you chose me. I possess the steady hands and superior intellect required."
Earl rolled his eyes with such vehemence it appeared painful. "Please. If I had been the firstborn, that prestigious designation would have been mine. You're merely fortunate, and I am occupied with my medical studies. I never realized this was the sort of family that favored elder sons so highly."
"Envy doesn't suit you, Earl," Ariel retorted, adjusting his miniature wrench.
Castiel observed the scene with detached disinterest, meticulously counting the money in his hands. This, apparently, was his domain of expertise. If he continued on this trajectory, he was slated to become the future leader of the Quinn group.
"Let's go already," Hades groaned, practically vibrating with anticipation. He eschewed formal wear, opting instead for jeans and a white t-shirt proclaiming, 'MY WIFE IS A GRAND MASTER!'
Sunshine let out a soft sigh. Their front door swung open, and the rest of the Quinn family entered as a unified, bustling group. Leah and Nimo also arrived with their respective families. The house soon teemed with people, prompting Sunshine to begin transferring guests into her spatial dimension immediately.
The last to enter the space were the boys: White, Tank, and Hunter.
"Is everyone ready?" Sunshine inquired as she joined them, surveying her wonderfully chaotic, beloved family.
"Yes!" they chorused in unison.
Sunshine closed her eyes, signaling her system. "Teleport us to Glacis."
[Affirmative, host.]
Hades reached out, grasping Sunshine's hand. As the familiar white energy began to envelop them, their eyes met. They materialized in Glacis, within the expansive resting area of an arena designated for teams to unwind while awaiting their summons.
The wonderment commenced instantaneously. The children gasped at the sight of colossal fish adorned with pearl necklaces around their immense necks, a choir of ethereal female beings resembling mythical mermaids, and imposing guards wielding long-bladed weapons and possessing powerful, piscine tails.
"I'm relocating here permanently," Warren declared. "I can scarcely believe this is what I've been missing. I claim priority for all of Sunshine's intergalactic excursions starting today."
The entrance slid open, and Nine's face peeked in. He scuttled inside with evident pride, his antennae quivering, followed by his numerous offspring. A staggering contingent of one hundred of them had arrived!
They surged towards the available seats, their excited chirps of "Aunt Sunshine! Aunt Sunshine!" echoing through the chamber like a vibrant hive. Their mother, already expecting again, slumped onto a seashell-shaped divan, muttering, "Next time, I'm staying home and sending them all to you, Suni."
Sunshine chuckled, patting the nearest insectoid child on the head. "They are incredibly adorable, but I wouldn't envy your position."
Nine guffawed. "You're merely envious because we can produce multiple offspring in a single gestation, while your human physiology can sustain what... two at most?"
She snorted derisively.
"Actually, six to seven," Ariel interjected helpfully.
"Could be more." Ala remarked, gently stroking a small insectoid creature just as Sunshine was doing.
Her mother, Leah, observed with a worried expression, fearing her daughter might get bitten. Dominic stood by, equipped with sanitizer and a tissue, anticipating any cleanliness urges.
Another guest, Vortan, arrived with his family, including his parents, wife, and two children. Upon entering, his immediate reaction was one of visible horror as he looked at Nine's children.
"I don't think they have birth control where he's from," Vortan commented, holding Sunshine close.
Those nearby chuckled, with Nine and his wife joining in the laughter.
Though the room became even more crowded, the atmosphere remained filled with joy and affectionate embraces.
The Quinn family and the small insectoids were already mingling cheerfully. Meanwhile, Warren had tossed aside all pretense of decorum, sidling up to the sea maidens who greeted them with radiant smiles. "So, do you come here often?" he asked one, only to be met with a slap from a tail fin that sent him airborne. Laughter erupted from the crowd.
However, Warren showed no signs of giving up, much to his mother's dismay.
"It appears the Quinn 'blood' is going quite universal," Aunt Ambrosia giggled, already tipsy.
Amidst the cheerful din, Hades whispered to Sunshine, "I am so relieved Sheldon isn't here. One horny idiot is quite enough."
She let out a small laugh.
At the center of the arena, perched upon a podium, was Zulu, the ceremony's announcer. The parrot, having visited Glacis three times prior, was infamous for its foul language and volatile temper. "Ladies, gentlemen, fish, bugs, cats, ugly Lisha, and whatever that guy is—WELCOME!" it squawked loudly.
Lisha let out a scoff.
"Today, we honor three remarkable repairmen," Zulu proclaimed. "But primarily, we celebrate the goddaughter of the Sea King. The Queen of the Apocalypse, and apparently, an aunt to a thousand insectoids. We celebrate a woman whose name will echo through eternity, marked by a grand statue bearing her name at the palace gates. While I've been denied such an honor, I won't complain. Let's just say the Glacian King has rather... limited..."
A dramatic pause hung in the air.
A collective gasp went through the assembly.
"...vision," the parrot concluded.
The subsequent wave of relief that washed over the attendees could be felt throughout the entire ocean.
"You all are so easily amused," Zulu chuckled. "Anyway, let's hear it for the guest of honor, the very reason we've all gathered here. Make some noise for Sunshine Raine Quinn! A name destined to be celebrated across the cosmos!"
Sunshine shared a quick kiss with Hades, then gracefully stood. She covered her smile as sea maidens guided her away. Even beneath the waves, chaos seemed to trail her like a devoted shadow. Yet, she didn't mind in the slightest, for in this life, it was a beautiful kind of chaos, and she couldn't have wished for anything more.
THE END.
