Du Beiye linked her battle suit with Mo Junjie's, using flight, invisibility, and defense modes to sneak into an enemy spaceship and eliminate the guards in the control room. She seized the controls and launched into aerial combat, blasting Matkuna soldiers from above and downing pursuing enemy craft with expert maneuvers. Mo Junjie battled motion sickness aided by Krayan, as Jiang Ziyi below struck a devastating blow against the First Elder, leaving him motionless in a massive crater.

Holding his longsword tightly, Jiang Ziyi dashed swiftly toward the First Elder. He channeled his energy into the blade before stabbing it right into the First Elder's heart.

Crash!

The longsword sliced straight through the First Elder's body, plunging deeply into the earth below.

"Cough!" Right as his heart burst apart from the strike, the First Elder hacked up a spray of blood.

Crimson liquid dripped from the edge of his mouth, soaking his garments red. His eyes narrowed as he glared at Jiang Ziyi and rasped, "D-do you think… by killing me… you can save the world?"

Jiang Ziyi's gaze turned icy upon hearing those words. He twisted the sword viciously and murmured coldly, "Do you think my goal is to save the world? You are as arrogant as before."

"You are clearly one of the Great Commanders. Tell me, why did you betray the Tarakam Civilization?" he pressed, his tone laced with disappointment and sorrow.

"Jiang Ziyi… you won't understand me… Cough! Cough!" The First Elder shook his head weakly. Struggling for air, he ground out, "You always stand… at the top. You don't know… my pain!"

"I have lived through countless nightmares and watched my beloved wife and children die again and again in my arms. Who are you to judge me?" Jiang Ziyi sneered. "If I fail again this time, I will make sure to kill you before you are even born."

His words carried such bone-chilling menace that fear flickered in the First Elder's eyes for the very first time. He gazed at Jiang Ziyi like he was staring at a demon from hell.

"You… What have you done?"

Without allowing another question, Jiang Ziyi yanked out his longsword. A gush of blood erupted from the First Elder's chest, splattering across his face and attire.

"Jiva, check his vitals."

"No vital signs detected. Target is dead."

"Burn him."

Instantly, flames burst forth from within the First Elder's corpse, consuming it completely. Within under two minutes, nothing remained but a heap of ashes.

Having slain the First Elder, Jiang Ziyi headed off to locate Jiao Lizhi.

Upon reaching the base's outer zone, he spotted the Phantom Team erecting a metal barrier around a 300-square-meter space.

Within that enclosure, Richard Tolstoy and his squad were recuperating. From their original 67 members, 30 had perished, with over 20 more bearing heavy wounds.

Unlike wounds from High-Level Zombies that turned victims into undead, injuries from Matkuna soldiers didn't cause zombification among the mutants. Still, the damages were grave, some even mortal.

As he approached, Yin Yusheng and Gao Bohai were frantically tending to the wounded mutants. Taking in the scene, Jiang Ziyi retrieved his medicine kit from his system storage and strode forward.

He slipped on medical gloves and grabbed a syringe from the kit. Before anyone could respond, he administered the serum to the mutants.

"Hey, what are you doing?" a woman exclaimed in shock.

"Saving your friend's life," Jiang Ziyi answered calmly.

After dosing the first mutant, he grabbed his medicine box and proceeded to inject the serum into all the others, injured or otherwise.

Ten minutes post-injection, the wounded mutants doubled over in agony, retching violently.

Richard, witnessing this, assumed the stranger had poisoned his allies. But spotting the white, parasite-like masses in the vomit, he froze in place.

With a snap of his fingers, Jiang Ziyi sent tendrils of fire racing toward the eggs. Upon contact, the flames roared to life, incinerating every Matkuna egg into dust.

Yin Yusheng and Gao Bohai watched in stunned silence.

"Brother, how did you know that they were infected with parasites?" Gao Bohai inquired, wide-eyed with curiosity.

"Those bugs' bodily fluids carry their eggs. If you are injured, it's easy for the eggs to enter your body. It takes at least three days for the eggs to finish the incubation period and start absorbing the Host's nutrients. It was easier to expel the eggs out of the host's body in the first 24 hours."

At these words, Richard and his comrades shivered in dread. Without this man's timely shots, they could have perished mysteriously.

Finishing up, Jiang Ziyi stowed his medicine box and declared, "We can't stay here any longer. Pack up, we are leaving."

"We are surrounded by enemies. There is no way we can leave here alive," one of Richard's team members protested, shaking his head.

Too uninterested to bother explaining, Jiang Ziyi shot a look at Yin Yusheng and Gao Bohai. Catching his glance, they abruptly recalled their Captain's teleportation power, wondering if he knew about it.

Before any questions could be posed, Jiang Ziyi vaulted onto the wall's summit. He scanned the area briefly until he located Jiao Lizhi. Confirming she was safe and sound, he released a deep breath of relief.

In contrast to humans, their bodies released a fragrance that lured the insects irresistibly. To the Matkuna Race, individuals from the Tarakam Civilization resembled deluxe gourmet feasts. Hence, they always drew the bugs' initial assaults.

This very trait doomed their civilization to ruin, with survivors either relentlessly pursued and slain or confined in pens like mere farm animals.

With a casual flick of his hand, innumerable wind blades hurtled toward the advancing Matkuna warriors. The blades sliced cleanly through the bugs, bisecting them effortlessly as if their rigid shells were soft butter.

Wush! Crash! Crash!

Even after felling the first wave of bugs, the wind blades surged onward with blazing speed. Only when they faded away had a massive zone been swept bare, littered solely with the insects' remains.

At this sight, Jiao Lizhi whirled around and questioned, "Where is the First Elder?"
