Jiang Ziyi slew the First Elder in a fierce duel, their exchange revealing cycles of betrayal, loss, and unyielding resolve. He incinerated the body and hastened to Richard Tolstoy's battered team, injecting serum to purge insidious Matkuna parasite eggs from the injured mutants. Clearing swarms of bugs with devastating wind blades, he reached Jiao Lizhi, who inquired about the First Elder's fate.

Upon hearing Jiao Lizhi's inquiry, Jiang Ziyi answered, "Dead."

He paused briefly before adding, "Fengyan, staying here is no longer an option. The Matkuna King has pinpointed our position and heads this way. We need to evacuate right away."

"Yet departing means this location gets wrecked."

Jiang Ziyi glanced upward toward the horizon. "Inhabitants of the Thirteen Colonies have already been tainted by Matkuna eggs long ago. Their doom is inevitable. We have to head back and gear up for the all-out assault."

At those words, Jiao Lizhi stayed quiet briefly, then nodded. "I get it."

"You handle evacuating the others. I'll deal with these insects."

"What happens to you if we go?"

"I've got my own escape plan. No need to fret," Jiang Ziyi assured with a slight grin.

Next, he activated his comms channel and declared, "Beiye, that's sufficient. We're returning to Lin'an City."

Within the extraterrestrial spacecraft, Du Beiye picked up Jiang Ziyi's message via her system comms. With the Great Commander issuing the command, compliance was mandatory.

She blasted the pursuing vessels from the sky, then maneuvered her craft to touch down beyond the metal barrier.

The vessel occupied half the space, leaving onlookers awestruck by its advanced tech. As she and Mo Junjie emerged, she gestured to stow the spaceship into her system storage.

"Krayan, could you upgrade this ship? Its tech lags behind. Boost the armaments and propulsion. Next round, I aim to take out the huge one. Feel free to tap all my resources."

"Modifications will require about 24 hours."

"No rush. Deliver the ultimate spaceship you can craft."

"Affirmative."

Meanwhile, Jiao Lizhi alerted the Phantom Team about their withdrawal, prompting the group to assemble swiftly.

"Sister-in-law, what's with the abrupt exit?" Xiao Qi wondered.

"The Matkuna King approaches. Lingering spells death for us," Jiao Lizhi explained, her brow furrowed.

The team members shifted their gaze to Jiang Ziyi atop the barrier. Solo, he halted the Matkuna troops' advance. They'd never realized anyone surpassed their Captain in might.

"Everyone, link hands. Time to return to Lin'an City," Jin Xuyan instructed.

Following his directive, questions ceased as they clasped hands. Within moments, Jiao Lizhi triggered the spatial gateway, vanishing them from sight.

Seeing their departure, Jiang Ziyi released his full might. Free from restraint, he commanded, "Jiva, switch to battle mode."

"Battle mode engaged. Soul Link: linked. System energy: 100%. Energy reserves: 100%. Weapons primed. All systems operational."

In the instant that followed, a gentle golden glow shrouded his form. As it faded, black armor adorned with golden motifs appeared on him, blending elements of Du Beiye's suit and Jiao Lizhi's.

He drew his longsword, crouched low, and vaulted skyward. Instantly, wings of enigmatic black alloy sprouted from his back.

This round, he charged straight at the enormous alien craft overhead.

At 100 meters distance, he slashed his blade sideways. A colossal energy wave, crackling with violet lightning, hurtled at the vessel.

BOOM!

The strike smashed into the concealed engine, igniting a massive blast. With an engine crippled, the ship tilted and plummeted. The beam summoning Matkuna soldiers vanished too.

Having wrecked the deployment portal, his attention turned to the ground swarm.

"Pests are what I despise most—filthy and reeking."

With those words, he vanished. Explosions rocked multiple zones like aerial strikes. In a flash, over 2,000 Matkuna soldiers fell to his blade.

Back at Lin'an City Base's 4th ring, the Phantom Team's sudden arrival with foreigners jolted the sentries.

Richard Tolstoy and his comrades suffered vertigo and sickness. By the guards' arrival, they huddled together, faces ashen.

"Captain Jin, your return gladdens us," a guard cried out joyfully.

Though A-rank mercenary squads abounded in the base, none matched Phantom Team's prowess. Their presence boosted survival odds by over 20%.

Jin Xuyan gave a nod and ordered, "Escort them to medical and tend the injured." He paused, then inquired, "Commander's location?"

"Front lines for the Commander. Hours ago, swarms of alien ships showed up," the guard answered.

"How's the situation?"

"For now, we're holding the aliens back from breaking our 4th wall. However, our ammunition is nearly depleted, and the mutants are completely drained."

Upon hearing this report, Jin Xuyan faced his team and commanded, "Rest up for 30 minutes and replenish your energy."

The team members gave nods of agreement and dropped to sit right there. In the instant that followed, they began drawing in the Sthanam crystals.

Richard and his teammates stared in utter disbelief, their eyes bulging wide. Yet Jin Xuyan and Jiao Lizhi spared no moment to consider their reactions.

From her Space, Jiao Lizhi retrieved multiple boxes of Level One Crystal Cores. "Hand out these crystal cores to the mutants. Instruct them to absorb the energy and restore themselves."

Her guards, no longer stunned by such lavish giving, acknowledged with nods. As they passed out the crystal cores, Jiao Lizhi and Jin Xuyan activated the space portal to instantly transport to the Lunar Base.

Just as they materialized, booming explosions echoed from afar. The Lunar Base endured its own assault, though far fewer Matkuna soldiers pressed the attack than those besieging Red Cliff Base.

Wasting not a second, they rushed toward the command center in search of Lustin Volkov.

Right then, the Lunar Base's leaders monitored the fierce battle via screens within the conference room.
