At that same moment, Jiao Lizhi and Jiang Ziyi had successfully concluded the administration of the RV-078 injections to Xie Zhou, Wen Chang, and the remaining individuals.
Unlike the specialized serum Du Beiye utilized to reconstruct Mo Junjie’s DNA, this particular solution was highly diluted; consequently, it was delivered as an intravenous drip.
Once the needles were withdrawn by Jiang Ziyi, Jiao Lizhi gathered and stored them within her space, planning to dispose of the medical waste at a later time.
Following this, they positioned everyone comfortably upon the floor, draping thick mattresses over each person. Stationed a short distance from these improvised beds, Jiang Ziyi commanded, "Jiva, display a comprehensive overview of their physical status."
A sprawling blue holographic interface manifested before him almost instantly. The screen contained several miniature human-shaped icons, with each representative symbol corresponding to an individual.
Selecting one icon caused it to expand immediately. Aside from showing external indicators—such as visible abrasions, lacerations, and assorted trauma—it provided a deep scan of their internal anatomy.
At present, the Matkuna eggs were dispersed throughout their systems. As Jiang Ziyi zoomed in, he observed the eggs attempting to draw sustenance from the hosts’ bodies, only to be overtaken by a wave of vibrant purple fluid that dissolved them into mere wisps of energy.
Relieved by this sight, he addressed Jiao Lizhi: "The solution is taking effect. Now, our priority is guaranteeing they possess sufficient energy to withstand the mutation and absorption sequence."
Jiao Lizhi offered a slow nod and inquired, "Would providing them with my pond water suffice for their needs?"
After assessing the sheer volume of eggs present within their bodies, Jiang Ziyi shook his head. "The density of the eggs is far too high. Relying solely on the energy contained in your pond water will be vastly inadequate."
"Then what is the next course of action? Even if I were to absorb Sthanam crystals to channel energy into them, my capacity is limited to only two people simultaneously."
After a brief silence, Jiang Ziyi responded, "Jiva has thoroughly purged the floor of all remaining Matkuna eggs. You may drop the system enclosure and enlist the assistance of your teammates."
"I am uncertain if they possess the capability to perform energy transfers," Jiao Lizhi noted with a furrowed brow.
"Competence is merely a matter of intent and repetition. Simply instruct them on the technique and allow them to gain proficiency through practice."
Hearing this, Jiao Lizhi gestured toward him and asked, "Great Commander, are you returning to the space, or do you intend to remain outside?"
Jiang Ziyi pondered for a moment before replying, "I will retreat into your space. Yuxuan cannot manage those chimeras and the children entirely on her own."
He cast a final look at the unconscious figures, adding, "I shall monitor their vital signs from within the space. Do not fret; take some time to recover yourself."
"Understood," Jiao Lizhi replied.
Following their exchange, she transported him into her space before issuing the command: "Gaia, deactivate the system barrier."
As soon as the barrier dissipated, Jin Xuyan’s eyes flew open. He rose sharply and sprinted toward the third floor, with the other members tailing closely behind him.
A few moments later, Jin Xuyan caught sight of his fiancée. Seeing her standing there with a smile, he surged forward and pulled her into a tight embrace.
"Ah Zhi, you terrified me," he murmured, his voice trembling.
Jiao Lizhi patted his back soothingly and said, "Brother Yan, forgive me for causing you such distress. Everything is handled now."
The surrounding members felt like third wheels as they watched their Captain and his lady, who seemed entirely preoccupied with each other, oblivious to their presence.
Feeling the awkwardness, Zhou Huajian gave a pointed cough to break the reverie. Despite his attempt, the pair remained locked in their embrace, whispering sweet nothings.
He glanced at the younger members, who were observing the scene with wide, confused eyes, and let out a forceful series of coughs: "Cough! Cough! Cough!" His throat felt as though it might give out entirely.
Annoyed by the constant sound, Jin Xuyan finally released his fiancée and glared at Zhou Huajian. "If you are unwell, go find some medicine," he stated harshly.
Zhou Huajian’s face reddened from the strain of his fake coughing as he rasped, "Captain, should we evaluate Commander Xie’s condition? Vice Commander Wei is anxious for an update."
Upon hearing this, Jin Xuyan pivoted: "Ah Zhi, how do they look?"
"Their vitals have leveled off, but the threat remains. The solution aids in combating the parasites, but the process demands a massive influx of energy."
"Sister-in-law, could you provide me with the supplies?" Mo Junjie requested.
As a trusted member of their inner circle, Jiao Lizhi complied immediately, producing a bag of RV-078 solutions from her space.
Mo Junjie scrutinized the purple liquid before stowing it away in his spatial necklace.
"Sister-in-law, what occurs if they deplete their energy reserves?" Gao Bohai asked.
"If they run dry, the parasites will begin consuming their energy, flesh, and blood for nutrients. This will accelerate the maturation of the parasites and lead to the host's death. However, with sufficient energy, the solution allows them to synthesize the parasites back into biological energy for their own use."
Hearing this, Jian Ziqin, usually the most reticent of the group, asked, "Sister-in-law, is there a reliable method to ensure they maintain enough energy?"
Jiao Lizhi smiled and confirmed, "There is only one solution: energy transfer."
"Energy transfer? Is that even a viable feat?" Jian Ziqin questioned skeptically.
"Sister-in-law, I only know how to tap into energy from crystal cores; I have never once heard of a transfer protocol," Xiao Qi admitted, scratching his head.
"Just because you haven't encountered it does not mean it is impossible," Jiao Lizhi replied.
