Jiao Lizhi explained to her sister Du Beiye that her fainting resulted from overexerting her mental power by storing excessive Sthanam crystals in her space to shield the base from invaders. Despite Du Beiye's warnings about the dangers of such recklessness, Jiao Lizhi contacted her fiancé Jin Xuyan, who described the dire zombie surge at Sanchou Base, leading them to plan a teleportation evacuation for him and the civilians to Lin’an. As they prepared to leave, Jiao Lizhi found Du Beiye and Mo Junjie ready to join her, quietly observing the evolving closeness between her sister and Mo Junjie.

Upon witnessing this scene, Jiao Lizhi stayed quiet. She clasped her sister's hand tightly and initiated the space jump. In the blink of an eye, the three vanished from the room, materializing again in under five seconds within a shadowy alley at Sanchou Base.

While they scanned their surroundings, clashes of battle rang out from every direction. Du Beiye shifted into her combat mode and uttered, "Let’s go."

The trio dashed toward the wall. As Du Beiye and Mo Junjie linked up with their comrades, Jiao Lizhi headed off to locate her fiancé.

Meanwhile, in the highest tower, Mo Junlong spotted his cousin and grinned. "He’s arrived."

The instant those words left his mouth, all his younger siblings hurried to the expansive glass window. After scanning through their binoculars for a bit, they finally spotted Mo Junjie perched atop the wall.

"When exactly did he show up?" Mo Junhao questioned skeptically.

"Only moments ago," Mo Junlong answered offhandedly.

At that, Mo Junzi shot a look at his eldest brother and inquired, "Brother, have you already hit level 4?"

Mo Junlong gave a smile and confirmed with a nod. "I broke through just two days back."

"So, what’s the range of your map ability now?" Mo Junyang pressed.

"It spans a full kilometer radius centered on me."

A trace of pride laced his voice, though none of them voiced any comment. Beyond his role as the Mo family's eldest grandson, Mo Junlong stood as the prime contender for heir apparent.

Having ascended to level 4, his prospects for leading the family next had surged even higher.

In contrast, the other hopefuls paled in both fighting prowess and tactical acumen. Not even the top rival, Mo Junjie, could realistically claim victory in the race.

As they observed from their vantage in the building, Mo Junjie swiveled his gaze toward them. As a level 5 Mutant, his eyesight surpassed that of a normal human by a hundredfold, allowing him to peer clearly into the structure from afar.

Sensing his odd action, Zhang Yuan remarked, "If you wish to reunite with your kin, feel free to go."

Mo Junjie, redirecting his focus to the fray, responded nonchalantly, "They’re not my family."

Zhang Yuan paused at the unexpected words. He’d heard the captain verify their connection earlier. For Mo Junjie to deny it now surely stemmed from some deeper cause.

He watched him closely for a moment, and seeing no sign of elaboration, Zhang Yuan decided to drop the matter.

In the meantime, Jiao Lizhi and Jin Xuyan lingered at Lin’an City Base, awaiting the reinforcement squad. During the wait, they slipped into her space.

No sooner had they entered than Jiang Ziyi declared, "Fengyan, take me along when you head out next time."

Jiao Lizhi, hearing this, wondered aloud, "What’s prompting you to venture outside all of a sudden?"

"I’ve got some unresolved business in Sanchou City. Once I settle it, I’ll track you down."

She regarded him steadily for quite a while before consenting. "Alright."

Though she harbored doubts about him as Jiang Ziyi, she placed faith in him as the Tarakam Civilization’s Great Commander. Should he choose to flee upon departure, she wouldn’t mind in the least.

Jin Xuyan cast a brief look at his fiancée but held his tongue. They made their way back to the bedroom, where he soaked in a steaming bath. Following that, they shared a meal, swapped outfits, and exited the space.

Upon reaching the training grounds, they found 50,000 Mutants assembled and awaiting them.

Eyes on the massive crowd, Jin Xuyan murmured to his fiancée, "Ah Zhi, are you able to teleport this many at one go?"

Jiao Lizhi affirmed with a nod. "No issue, though it’ll drain more energy."

"Excellent."

Wang He approached as they arrived and announced, "Captain Jin, Comrade Jiao, we’re set to move out whenever you give the word."

Jin Xuyan nodded and instructed, "Have everyone link hands."

Though puzzled by the command, Wang He recalled Xun Che’s directive to obey Jin Xuyan on this operation. True to his soldier’s discipline, he issued no challenges to the order.

Once the instruction passed down, the group clasped hands amid their confusion. Jin Xuyan gripped Wang He’s hand, then took his fiancée’s.

With preparations complete, Jiao Lizhi declared,

Shortly thereafter, a robotic voice resounded in her thoughts.

As Gaia’s words concluded, a radiant glow shrouded the entire group, whisking them away from the spot. Mere seconds later—five in total—they rematerialized in the expansive central zone of Sanchou Base.

Previously, when Jiao Lizhi and Jin Xuyan had returned to Lin’an City Base, they’d evacuated the survivors. Thus, Sanchou Base now housed solely the Mo family Mutants, Phantom Team members, and the Lin’an reinforcements.

Their sudden arrival left everyone reeling, prompting many to collapse onto the ground from vertigo. A few even retched dryly from the queasiness.

Regaining their bearings, they discovered they’d reached Sanchou Base. They’d anticipated transport via military helicopters, yet direct teleportation had caught them off guard.

Now, looks directed at Jin Xuyan brimmed with awe, jealousy, and trepidation.

His black flame alone had crowned him Huaxia’s mightiest Mutant. Acquiring teleportation only amplified doubts about anyone besting him.

Brushing aside the stares, Jin Xuyan outlined the scenario to the squad leaders. They then split into teams and rotations, alternating base defense every four hours while the rest rested.
