Zombie Apocalypse: Reborn With A Farming Space Chapter 833: Under Attack ( 9 )

Upon spotting Jian Huan and Lin Fei approaching, a survivor inquired, "Comrade, where are you headed?"
Lin Fei halted upon hearing the question and responded with a grin, "We're off to recruit the ability-users concealed in the houses for assistance."
"Zombies are swarming in greater numbers. Relying solely on my team won't hold them off for much longer before they smash through the wall. Once that happens, all of us will serve as zombie fodder."
The survivors' eyes bulged in shock the instant they caught his words.
"Comrade, does that mean there are additional ability-users around here?" questioned a sturdy fellow.
Lin Fei gave a nod without uttering a word. As the survivors buzzed about the revelation, a smirk tugged at his mouth. If hiding was their preference, these folks could haul them out into the open.
Faced with imminent doom, survival drove them to desperate measures. Just as anticipated, shortly after his departure, the survivors began searching the residences. They roughly forced open secured doors and barged inside the homes.
Soon enough, the ability-users were discovered within. Though lacking powers themselves, the desperate survivors feared not the empowered ones.
Ignoring the gap in might, they pointed weapons at the ability-users, compelling them to emerge and battle the zombies. Any who resisted faced a thrashing from the mob.
Accustomed to dominating ordinary folk with their abilities, the mutants were unprepared for these frantic attackers. Once a few had been pummeled to death, the remaining mutants yielded to the commoners and headed to the wall.
Observing their arrival, Xiao Qi tsked and remarked, "It's no surprise they avoided clashing with the zombies. Just a handful have hit level two. They're utterly feeble."
Without sparing them a look, Yin Yusheng responded, "Weak or not, they're better than having zero help."
With those words, he squeezed the trigger on his airgun.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Within mere seconds, three zombies fell to his shots. As he dispatched the undead, his mutant Neem tree rampaged beneath.
Towering over 20 meters with a trunk exceeding 5 meters across, the mutant Neem tree boasted lengthy, robust branches. A single lash flattened clusters of zombies.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Crash! Crack! Crash!
Branches hammered decaying flesh with vivid echoes. Once slain, the zombies' bodies were overrun by a coating of mutant moss that consumed them entirely.
Because of this, a 200-meter clear zone formed beyond the wall. In stark contrast to the filthy, battered terrain nearby, this spotless expanse sent shivers racing down spines.
The mutants blanched at the horrifying display.
In fifteen minutes, Lin Fei and Jian Huan reached the grandest structure's doorway in Sachou Base.
Gazing at the secured entrance, he queried, "Sister Jian, what's our next move?"
Jian Huan lifted her hand and answered, "No way in? Create one then."
Her statement barely landed when she balled her fist. Instantly, the door crumpled like wadded paper. Shattered glass and twisted metal produced not a whisper of noise.
Impressed, Lin Fei commented, "Sister Jian, your power is incredibly handy."
Jian Huan merely grinned and stepped inside the edifice.
They rode the elevator up to the topmost level.
This upper floor served as a versatile hall. Currently, its paired doors stood ajar, revealing occupants seated within.
"Looks like they anticipated our arrival," Lin Fei noted, arching his brows.
Entering the space, the Mo siblings sized them up briefly before Mo Junhao scowled and declared, "I figured that guy would show up himself. Instead, he dispatched these pushovers."
His statement drew no response from Lin Fei or Jian Huan. They scanned the assembly momentarily until spotting the central figure.
Appearing as the head, Jian Huan positioned herself before him and stated, "My captain requests your participation in the battle. Kindly accompany us."
"What makes you think we'll obey?" Mo Linghui snapped irritably.
"Simple— the wall's fall means you'll all turn into zombie snacks," Lin Fei shot back offhandedly.
"Should everyone else perish, my clan will slip away unharmed," Mo Junhao scoffed.
Smiling at his boast, Jian Huan retorted, "If your clan is truly that mighty, why cower here like a shelled reptile?"
Lin Fei interjected before the Mo siblings could retort, "Sister Jian, it's due to their frailty and timidity. For existence, they lurk in safety, shielded like pampered royalty."
His taunting remark made even Mo Junzi scowl, fixing them with icy glares.
Jian Huan chuckled and added, "Fine, even if they're spineless and won't budge, our mission demands fulfillment."
Her speech ended with a hand gesture, ensnaring the Mo siblings in a spatial barrier moments later. A quick wrist snap hoisted the enclosure skyward.
As his kin reeled in surprise, Mo Junzi remained seated, eyeing Jian Huan curiously. Her frosty stare met his, prompting an involuntary grin.
His expression furrowed Jian Huan's brow. Oddly, it unsettled her deeply. She conveyed the Mo siblings straight to the wall in their 'escort'.
Phantom Team members gawked curiously at the cluster 'transported' by her.
Once the spatial barrier dissolved, Jian Huan resumed her station, steadfastly guarding the wall.
