Jiao Lizhi realizes the Matkuna soldiers are drawn to the Sthanam crystals and rushes to store them in her space, hoping to halt the assault. Du Beiye rampages through the bugs with her mobile suit, collecting their blood for serum while Krayan assists in storage. At the gate, fighters like Wu Zimo fiercely defend the cracking metal wall, rotating shifts amid exhaustion, as medical teams tend to the wounded. Jiao Lizhi retrieves the crystals from their hidden cellar, leaving crystal cores as compensation, just as the enemy commander signals a sudden retreat, prompting Du Beiye to activate a barrier with her sister's approval.

In the instant that followed, a vivid blue radiance exploded from Du Beiye’s mobile suit, rapidly spreading outward to envelop the area.

On this occasion, the system barrier wasn’t defending the base against the invaders’ strikes, but instead sealing the Matkuna Race’s way to escape.

Upon spotting the barrier, terror flashed in the Matkuna Commander’s eyes. It had never imagined facing the identical nightmare from the Lunar Base in this place.

Memories of being cornered and barely clinging to survival flooded back, prompting it to emit shrill cries, ordering all troops to concentrate their efforts on breaching the barrier at a single point and withdrawing.

As the insects pulled back, the mutants’ spirits lifted dramatically. With the advantage now theirs, the warriors and mages abandoned their caution.

They charged at the fleeing Matkuna warriors and engaged them head-on.

Amid the throng of fighters, Feng Zhen gripped his twin blades and vaulted into the air. Twisting his form mid-leap, he hurled the daggers toward the Matkuna Captain’s rear with blinding velocity.

Crack! Crack!

The twin blades sank into the Matkuna Captain’s armored exterior, causing violet fluid to ooze from the gash.

Noticing this, Feng Zhen twisted his wrist, recalling the daggers smoothly to his grasp.

Simultaneously, the violet fluid within the Matkuna Captain began to surge wildly, like an internal tidal wave. Within mere seconds—under five—the creature’s form twisted grotesquely from its own circulating blood.

Witnesses close by stared in astonishment at the sight. Before they could comprehend the phenomenon, the Matkuna Captain’s body ballooned outward at an alarming rate. In under ten seconds, it burst apart violently.

BOOM!

Given the highly corrosive nature of Matkuna blood, any touch posed a grave threat to the mutants. Thus, as the purple liquid sprayed in all directions, they hastily pulled away.

Surprisingly, the blood never reached the earth; it hovered suspended in the air before being drawn irresistibly toward Du Beiye, pulled by some invisible pull.

Feng Zhen’s gaze brightened at the development. He had feared the corrosive fluid might injure allies, but with his brother’s comrade handling the cleanup, concerns vanished.

Emboldened by the realization, he launched his twin daggers at the adjacent Matkuna foes. Once wounded, he channeled his power to manipulate their blood, forcing them to detonate from within.

BOOM! BOOM!

Observing from afar, Du Beiye took note and remarked, "Krayan, could you scan that young man’s power?"

Within under a minute, a holographic blue display materialized before her. Scanning the details, Du Beiye let out an impressed tsk.

"This kid’s fortune is incredible. Surviving a brush with doom, he unlocked three powers and snagged an A-rank natural gift."

Pausing briefly, she continued, "Krayan, keep a closer watch on his area. His skill to trigger those insects’ blasts will simplify gathering the resources."

As combat raged on, Jiao Lizhi remained senseless in the hidden underground chamber.

By now, the Sthanam crystals she had gathered were sown across the meadows within her personal realm. Once more, her mind drifted through the emptiness.

This round, no agony afflicted her, allowing inspection of the realm’s exterior boundary. From that perspective, it was clear her domain required just one final enhancement to hit its peak capacity.

Drifting in the nothingness, she inquired, "Gaia, why does activating the system barrier always cause me to black out?"

She figured the system would stay silent. To her surprise, Gaia’s tone echoed back.

"The activation severs our link temporarily," it explained simply.

"So, how do I restore the connection?" Jiao Lizhi pressed.

Hearing the reply, Jiao Lizhi followed up, "You mean that I can only wait?"

With no option but to bide her time, Jiao Lizhi exhaled deeply and murmured, "Since I have nothing to do, I will take a nap."

Following Gaia’s words, a sensation of sinking into plush bedding washed over Jiao Lizhi, lulling her into slumber swiftly.

With nightfall descending, half the Matkuna forces lay defeated. The mutants withdrew to the stronghold for recovery, as fresh reinforcements stepped in.

Though Lin’an City Base held steady, chaos gripped Sanchou Base differently. As the crimson moon ascended, zombies grew fiercer and swifter.

Perched atop the barrier wall, Shen Jinzhe radioed his leader via walkie-talkie. "Captain, we’ve battled over 12 hours, but those folks keep cowering. Should we drag them into the fray?"

At his words, Cheng Rui volunteered, "Brother Shen, let me handle it. I’ll make sure they join the fight."

Right after, Cheng Yue interjected, "You just stick to your duties. Don’t stir up problems for the team."

"Captain, how about I go?" Lin Fei offered.

Jin Xuyan pondered briefly before directing, "Jian Huan and Lin Fei, go invite them."

"Understood."

Though the Captain phrased it as an ’invitation,’ the pair grasped the true aim. They leaped down from the wall and headed for the highest structure.
