Zombie Apocalypse: Reborn With A Farming Space Chapter 819: Pervert ( 1 )

Previously on Zombie Apocalypse: Reborn With A Farming Space...
Cheng Rui and Cheng Yue introduced themselves as powerful dual-ability mutants, both at level five, impressing the Phantom Team. During the team meeting, Jin Xuyan outlined the upcoming mission to investigate and clear zombies in nearby cities ahead of the Land of Snow expedition, set to depart the next morning for 10 to 20 days, while Jiao Lizhi, Du Beiye, and Mo Junjie stayed behind for their tasks. The new members received generous supplies and welcome gifts from Jiao Lizhi, who later discovered the Cheng brothers' nerve damage from removing locators, affecting their memory storage, and planned to address it after the mission.

Upon consuming the water from the pond, Jiao Lizhi's fatigue vanished, and she responded truthfully, 'I’m feeling much better already.'

Jin Xuyan caressed her slender, delicate waist and inquired, 'Does it still hurt anywhere?'

Unaware of her fiancé's mischievous plans, she simply nodded. Seeing that, Jin Xuyan bent forward and captured her lips in a kiss. Before she could utter a single word, he deepened the embrace and swept her off her feet toward the bedroom.

As the rest of the group labored away, these two were diligently occupied with the task of growing the human race.

In the meantime, at the lab, Gu Shaoze conversed with Rong Mo’er inside her quarters. Following the serum injection from Mo Junjie, she had emerged from her unconscious state and been moved to a monitoring room.

'Who would have thought so much chaos unfolded while I was out cold,' Rong Mo’er sighed deeply.

'All is well now. Just concentrate on healing up, and once you're out of here, I'll bring you somewhere to relax,' Gu Shaoze assured her with a warm smile.

Rong Mo’er agreed with a nod and questioned, 'It feels like ages since I last saw the kids. What's their situation like these days?'

At the mention of the youngsters, a brief shadow crossed Gu Shaoze’s gaze. Clasping her hand, he informed her, 'Changchao, Danyu, and Leizhen advanced to level two just recently.'

'Jiaojiao managed to surpass level one a couple of days back. Right now, they're studying at the base's school and honing their skills at the training grounds.'

'What of the others?'

'Those kids aren't part of our squad anymore. They chose to enter the base's foster system and are being looked after by the authorities. It's probably for the best—they're still too little for field operations.'

'The base will handle their basic needs. Once they're adults, the base guarantees them positions without any hassle.'

Upon learning this, a wave of sorrow and letdown washed over Rong Mo’er, yet she harbored no resentment toward them.

Given their perilous circumstances, the children wisely secured their futures, and she ought to feel joy for their choice. Still, after all the care they poured into those kids, her heart ached for them to remain by the team's side.

With another heavy sigh, she probed, 'Shaoze, during my blackout, did you get any updates on my cousin?'

Gu Shaoze affirmed with a nod, explaining, 'The fellow who rescued you from that zombie was a fake. He slipped you something that accelerated your transformation.'

'Post his hit on the Yunshan City Base Commander, he vanished into thin air. But your genuine cousin is here at our base. You'll see him once you're discharged from the lab in a couple of days.'

Rong Mo’er dipped her head in acknowledgment, drifting into contemplation. Despite the fraud's role in her ordeal, he had indeed pulled her from death's grip initially. Without that substance he administered, her grave wounds would have claimed her.

Thus, amid the widespread pursuit of him, she secretly wished for his getaway. Though he was an infiltrator who attempted to end Feng Xiu, he remained her lifesaver.

She would never turn against her base, nor could she summon the will to end her benefactor. Should their paths cross someday, her sole desire was to uncover his reasons for sparing her life back then.

Sensing his partner's distant stare, Gu Shaoze gently pressed her hand and queried, 'Mo’er, what's on your mind?'

She shook her head and mustered a smile. 'Nothing much. Just pondering my parents.'

At those words, Gu Shaoze grinned. He extended a hand to ease her furrowed brow, adding, 'No need to fret—we've got word on them already.'

Her eyes instantly brightened at that. 'Shaoze, have you located them?'

'It's not a sure thing yet. But folks matching your parents' descriptions from the sketches you provided have been spotted at the Green Lake Base. Come winter's end, we'll head there to confirm if it's really them.'

Excitement bubbled up in Rong Mo’er, prompting her to urge, 'Why not head out right away?'

Gu Shaoze denied it with a shake of his head. 'Even renting a military helicopter won't help with the intensifying snowstorms. Venturing out now would be too risky.'

Seeing her crestfallen expression, he comforted, 'Mo’er, they're thriving at the Green Lake Base.' He paused briefly before sighing. 'I'll figure out a way to reach out to them. That should give you clearer insights into how they're faring.'

Without hesitation, Rong Mo’er nodded and expressed, 'Thank you, Shaoze. Sorry for adding to your burdens.'

Gu Shaoze let out a light laugh and tweaked her nose. 'What are you on about? As your boyfriend, handling your worries and looking after you is just the start.'

Rong Mo’er nodded in agreement and wrapped her arms around him. 'I'm thankful fate let me cross paths with you.' With that, she nestled into his chest.

Despite the nightmarish trials post-apocalypse, she clung to hope for his sake. Without him, the shame inflicted by those monsters might have driven her to end it all.

Gu Shaoze enveloped her in his arms, softly stroking her back. His gaze fixed on the transparent wall, deep in reverie, his thoughts a mystery to all.

The following dawn, Jiao Lizhi stirred awake, her back throbbing and limbs aching from soreness. As her eyes fluttered open, her fiancé's striking features came into view.

Normally, the lady rested in the gentleman's hold. Yet for them, it was reversed.

Her fiancé adored drifting off while cradling her, his head pillowed on her bosom. Though it never weighed her down, she frequently awoke to find her nightwear tugged aside, exposing her upper body.

These days, with the chill in the air, her fiancé ensured they were bundled under heavy covers. Thus, despite her sleepwear serving little purpose, she stayed warm and illness-free.

She gazed at him for several moments before reaching out to playfully squeeze his nose.
