Zombie Apocalypse: Reborn With A Farming Space Chapter 818: New Members ( 6 )

As astonishment gripped everyone, Cheng Rui let out a chuckle and continued, "I’m a dual-ability mutant. This represents my second power, lightning, which also reaches level five."

This occasion even prompted Jin Xuyan to arch his brows. He hadn’t anticipated that these two mutants possessed such formidable strength. Placing them under close watch had clearly been a wise choice.

Once Cheng Rui wrapped up his presentation, attention shifted to Cheng Yue. In contrast to his sibling, Cheng Yue kept his overview brief. "I’m called Cheng Yue. I’m a dual-type mutant as well."

He spread open his two palms, and in the following instant, a strand of azure fire hovered over his left hand, as a petite sand-formed dagger levitated above his right.

"Each of my powers sits at level five."

Differing from Zhang Yuan and Su Ruanyi, his earth-based power focused on creation. Across the whole Lin’an City Base, he alone held the skill to generate soil.

Following the newcomers’ self-presentations, the Phantom Team’s individuals shared their identities and powers too. Yet, they withheld full details. Take Pei Yixie, for instance—she disclosed only her space power while concealing her mind-reading talent.

In the upcoming training phase, her duty involved monitoring them closely. Should she detect any disloyalty toward the group, immediate notification to her sibling was required.

Thirty minutes passed before they reached the core discussion. Jin Xuyan swept his gaze over the group and declared, "You all must be aware of our forthcoming assignment in the Land of Snow."

The team members inclined their heads and anticipated his further statements.

Unrolling a map, Jin Xuyan indicated the adjacent urban areas and settlements, explaining, "As Old Xun gathers additional mutants, we’ll head to these locations initially. The objective involves scouting the conditions and eliminating zombies along with mutants."

"The assignment spans a minimum of 10 days up to 20 days at most. Departure is set for tomorrow dawn. Assemble at the training area by 6 a.m."

Upon his announcement, Jiao Lizhi chimed in, "On this trip, I’ll remain behind with the team. For any requirements, jot them down, and I’ll stockpile sufficient provisions. Xiao Qi and Yixie will handle storage of the provisions."

In response, Du Beiye contributed, "I’m staying back too. I’ll remain at the base to assist with the blood examinations."

Mo Junjie cast a look her way and stated, "I’ll remain at the base as well."

Jin Xuyan, already briefed on their ongoing research, gave a nod. "Old Xun informed me of your responsibilities. You two should concentrate on your duties and complete them prior to our journey to the Land of Snow."

"Understood," came the synchronized reply from Mo Junjie and Du Beiye.

"Any inquiries?" Jin Xuyan queried the group.

Cheng Rui lifted his hand and inquired, "Captain, should we pack specific items? Such as crystal cores."

"Feel free to carry anything you prefer, though the squad will provide crystal cores and essentials for urgent needs right before exiting the base."

The fresh recruits, upon hearing this, felt surprised. Typically, novices got no provisions until after their debut task. The Phantom Team’s generosity caught them off guard.

Noting the absence of further queries, Jin Xuyan instructed, "Fine, proceed with your preparations now."

Accustomed to their leader’s abrupt dismissals, the team grabbed treats, produce, and beverages from the surfaces and storage as they exited the lounge.

Observing the group snatching edibles and libations like complimentary items, Lin Fei elbowed Xiao Qi and whispered, "Brother, is it fine for everyone to swipe the Captain’s provisions?"

"Our Sister-in-law possesses abundant stockpiles. She won’t mind such minor treats. If desired, request some from her directly."

Scarcely had he spoken when Jiao Lizhi approached bearing multiple packs of goodies.

She distributed the packs to the recruits and remarked, "I’m unsure of an ideal present for you, so fruits and treats are what I’ve gathered. Consider this a joining present from Brother Yan and myself. Accept it without hesitation."

With her insistence, the newcomers took the offerings. Jian Huan grinned and expressed, "Thanks, Sister-in-law."

Jiao Lizhi beamed and drew near. "I’ve arranged a few items just for you."

Jian Huan, puzzled by this, stayed silent. Back in her compact dwelling, she unpacked the sack and discovered feminine hygiene items. Rubbing her abdomen, she noted the approach of her menstrual cycle.

Jiao Lizhi’s attentiveness warmed her heart, and the presents arrived perfectly timed. Her pain relievers were nearly depleted, with the local shop lacking stock.

Meanwhile, Jiao Lizhi reclined on the sofa, perusing data on the recent additions.

In the session, she directed Gaia to examine their physiques. Post-departure, she collected DNA traces from their drinking vessels. Fixating on Cheng Rui and Cheng Yue’s records, she knitted her brow.

Catching her expression, Jin Xuyan probed, "Ah Zhi, what troubles you?"

"Cheng Rui and Cheng Yue both suffer nerve impairment. Based on the site, it aligns with the implant location of the tracker. They appear to have extracted it crudely, harming the memory-processing section."

Jin Xuyan’s face creased in concern as he questioned, "Can it be repaired?"

"Gaia is capable of mending it, though I must escort them into my space."

After brief deliberation, Jin Xuyan wondered, "Does this injury impede their advancement?"

Jiao Lizhi consulted Gaia, then relayed, "No major issues will arise. Merely, they’ll face difficulties in retaining fresh recollections. Certain details may slip, while others persist."

Pondering briefly, he decided, "Post-mission, we’ll devise a method to get them into your space."

"Okay."

With departure looming tomorrow and no chance for intimate moments with his betrothed, Jin Xuyan recalled a vital matter and inquired, "Ah Zhi, have you recovered?"
