Young Brother-in-law Is Now My Husband Chapter 1625: Jared Feeling The Pain
Previously on Young Brother-in-law Is Now My Husband...
Jared, his hands trembling, fumbled with his phone, attempting to reach his daughter, his wife, anyone at all.
"I regret to inform you, but not only have all your men been neutralized, but the network coverage in this vicinity is also nonexistent," Lu Lijun stated. "This is precisely why Noah connected that specialized device to your television, ensuring you can at least spectate a dramatic portrayal of a young girl's suffering – unhindered by network interruptions."
Jared's countenance twisted in pure fury, his eyes bloodshot, a manifestation of his overwhelming desire to throttle Lu Lijun. "I solemnly swear, should even a single hair on her head be harmed, I will exact retribution that you will forever regret."
"I am prepared for that," Lu Lijun responded with unruffled composure. "Much like Yuyan, your daughter will undoubtedly pursue those boys who are poised to inflict harm the moment she enters that chamber. Subsequently, she will pursue me. I shall embrace my chastisement for orchestrating harm against her. Rest assured. However, for the present moment, all I aspire to is for you to experience the identical anguish we endured."
Jared turned his gaze towards Jiang Yuyan. "You intend to do nothing to stop him?"
Lu Lijun's hand, resting possessively on her waist, gently caressed her back, a gesture meant to reassure and soothe her.
"I stand with him," Jiang Yuyan declared, her voice remarkably steady. "Perhaps the time has come for you to confront the reality of what transpired previously. Only by doing so will you grasp the profound injustice that was dealt – the suffering inflicted upon me and my kin."
"You..."
"Hush!" Lu Lijun interjected, his attention fixed on Jared. "Jared, do not miss the unfolding spectacle. Observe, your daughter is on the verge of entering that very room."
Jared's daughter, Sara, was observed approaching the rear storage room of the school, mirroring Jiang Yuyan's experience from years past. A tremor ran through Jiang Yuyan's body as the recollections surged, compelling her to avert her gaze from the screen's grim depiction.
Lu Lijun drew her nearer, bestowing a tender kiss upon her head in an attempt to offer solace. "It will conclude shortly. Alternatively, if you prefer, you may depart. It is possible you would rather not overhear my subsequent discourse with him."
Jiang Yuyan offered a negative shake of her head and instead submerged her face into the crook of his neck, finding a measure of calm in his comforting presence and scent that soothed her agitated nerves. Lu Lijun enveloped her in a firm embrace, then directed his icy stare towards Jared, whose distress was palpable.
"Would you care to ascertain who awaits her beyond that door?" Lu Lijun inquired, and the scene displayed on the television screen shifted. Inside the room, three older boys were engaged in smoking and conversing about trivial matters wholly inappropriate for their age.
"Lijun, cease this madness this instant!" Jared bellowed, his voice laced with escalating fury.
"That will not occur," Lu Lijun retorted, a semblance of a mocking smirk gracing his lips.
Jared was instantly reminded of Lu Lijun's earlier declaration: 'You must have assumed my principles mirrored those of my family, but I possess none. Once I resolve to discard them, I am capable of resorting to the most nefarious and wicked actions. I shall ensure you bear witness to it.'
A disquieting shiver coursed through Jared's spine. "Very well, I concede. My family and I committed an error. Release her immediately."
"Tsk! Is that not an excessively premature apology?" Lu Lijun displayed no inclination to yield, his gaze remaining intently fixed upon the screen. "Ah, look, your daughter is about to open the door. Poor child."
Jared's eyes darted to the screen, a wave of panic washing over him. "Stop her!"
"Regrettably, I am unable," Lu Lijun stated with chilling calmness, his hand gently stroking Yuyan's back as he detected her subtle tremors. He was acutely aware that this must be reawakening her most harrowing memories. "As you can plainly see, there is no network connectivity available here. Consequently, I cannot issue any directives for her apprehension, nor can I command those boys to desist."
On the screen, Sara cautiously opened the door and stepped into the room. The boys' voices reverberated through the speakers.
"Well, well, what have we here? A little songbird, I presume."
"What brings you here, my dear?" one of the boys inquired, his tone laced with unwelcome familiarity.
"I...."
Slam!
The door slammed shut behind her, and Sara's voice, now filled with palpable fear, soon followed. "I was looking for my friend. Why did you shut the door? Please return my bag!"
Jared unmistakably recognized his daughter's voice. A surge of raw anger, akin to an awakened demon, coursed through him, and he emitted a guttural growl, "Lijun, put an end to this!"
Lu Lijun remained unmoved, offering only a sinister smirk. "It appears the moment has arrived to unveil the true events unfolding within that room, concealed behind that door. We have strategically placed cameras inside, ensuring you miss no single second of your daughter's ordeal. After all, how else could you possibly comprehend the suffering Yuyan endured?"
Jared lunged towards Lu Lijun, but before he could bridge the distance, he was brutally struck in the chest with a powerful kick, sending him crashing onto the floor. Noah had intervened, his expression a mask of cold fury. 'This scoundrel deserves far worse than a mere kick,' he thought, his resolve hardening.
A girl's agonizing scream pierced the air, emanating from behind the door depicted on the screen.
Jared instantly dropped to his knees, the agony from the earlier kick momentarily forgotten. Tears cascaded down his cheeks as he pleaded, "I apologize." he choked out. "I implore you, release my daughter. Please, do not harm her." He then turned his anguished gaze to Jiang Yuyan, his voice cracking with emotion. "Ms. Jiang, you cannot allow my daughter to endure the same suffering you experienced. I give you my solemn vow, I will depart this country and never set foot here again. Your family will never face harm from me again. I recognize my brother's wrongdoing, and I offer my apologies on his behalf. I beg you... please, tell him to cease his actions. Save my daughter. She is utterly innocent."
A heart-wrenching wail pierced the silence of the room as Jared's voice fractured under the immense pressure of his desperation. "Please, I am begging you."
Jiang Yuyan's eyes, brimming with unshed tears, reflected the deep-seated pain of past traumas. She looked towards Lu Lijun, her voice barely a whisper, trembling as she implored, "Lijun, please stop this now. I can no longer bear to witness or hear any of this." Lu Lijun tenderly brushed away her tears, sensing the depth of her anguish, and gave a solemn nod.
"Noah, show him precisely what is occurring within that room," Lu Lijun commanded.
Jared's fists clenched, his entire frame trembling with a potent mix of fury and helplessness at the thought of his daughter's treatment, even after his desperate pleas. His immediate instinct was to lunge at Lu Lijun and end his life right there. However, as the screen shifted, revealing the scene unfolding within the room, he abruptly froze, utterly stunned by the sight that greeted him.
