Lu Lijun returns home after a month, much to his mother's relief. He shares an intimate reunion with Jiang Yuyan, much to the amusement of his family. Later, Jiang Yuyan questions Lu Lijun's high energy levels after their encounter.

1619 Jared's Plan

After finishing his meal, Lu Lijun made a call to Noah. He gave his instructions, saying, "I will be working from the office here. You need to handle all the affairs back there."

Noah, ever the diligent assistant, readily agreed. Lu Lijun continued, "I'll make sure Jake is sent to you."

Noah, however, frowned. "I appreciate the thought, but if you want me to focus on work, I'd rather you set aside that kindness for now."

Lu Lijun let out a chuckle. "Aren't you missing him?"

Noah's frown deepened. "Just because your perpetually unsatisfied desire has finally been sated, doesn't mean you need to worry about my own needs."

Lu Lijun, suppressing a laugh, retorted, "If your needs go unmet for too long due to an overloaded workload, and you end up losing your mind, it would hinder our productivity." He added, "As your boss and your closest friend, I also need to consider your well-being. I'll be a good boss and send your 'human medicine' to you."

"In that case, don't blame me if the work isn't completed on time," Noah shot back. "It's on you for sending that overly eager prince my way."

"Understood." Lu Lijun ended the call, a wide grin spreading across his face. "You certainly have a way with words, and not just with me, but with your friends too," he commented as Jiang Yuyan, now refreshed and dressed in clean clothes after her rest, appeared.

"That's just how we communicate; there's no need for pretense," Lu Lijun explained. "Besides, teasing them is rather enjoyable."

"Indeed, I can see that," she remarked, shaking her head. "You three friends are so uninhibited that you can even display affection in front of each other without a second thought. What a group of brazen men."

"When it comes to showing you affection, I don't care about anyone else, not even our family," he said, wrapping his arms around her. "I need to head to the office now; there's still important work that requires my attention."

"Thank heavens you finally remembered you have work to do," she replied, holding onto him as well, her expression softening. "Don't be late."

"I won't. What will you be doing at home?" he inquired.

"Sister Qin Xiu is due to give birth soon, so I'll be helping Mother and Aunt Su Hui with the preparations and staying with them in case she needs to go to the hospital this coming week," she informed him.

"It's already that time?" he asked, surprised. "The days have passed by so quickly."

"You were so engrossed in your work that you didn't notice," she pointed out.

"It's no wonder Brother Lu Han has been practically glued to the house, working from home," he mused.

"And you're only realizing this now?" she gave him a slightly displeased look. "To make up for it, I won't be going anywhere outside the city and will be here to welcome the baby along with the rest of the family."

She smiled at him. "This will be the first baby born into the new generation of the Lu family. Everyone is already incredibly excited."

"They'll be even more excited when we have our own baby," he commented, his hand moving to her abdomen. A faint blush colored her cheeks as she heard him continue, "Who knows, maybe I've already started building one in there."

She playfully swatted his hand away, feeling embarrassed by his words. "It's already noon. You really shouldn't be late for the office anymore," she said, attempting to usher him out of the room. They both proceeded downstairs, where Lu Han and Qin Xiu had just entered the drawing-room after a leisurely stroll in the garden. Qin Xiu, heavily pregnant, walked more slowly, with Lu Han supporting her by the hand.

Upon seeing Lu Lijun, Qin Xiu beamed. "You're finally back, Lijun? I was worried my baby wouldn't even get to feel your shadow before its arrival. I want my child to be as brilliant as his uncle."

"Every member of the Lu family possesses great intelligence. I'm certain this little one will be no different," Lu Lijun replied.

"That's true," she agreed, sinking onto the sofa with her husband's assistance, letting out a sigh. "I'll be staying here until the baby is born," Lu Lijun informed Qin Xiu, who offered a smile in response. He then turned to Jiang Yuyan, planting a kiss on her lips. "See you in the evening." She gave him a warning glare, but he simply smiled and departed.

Qin Xiu giggled, "He's still as spirited as ever, isn't he?"

Jiang Yuyan could only nod. "Stubborn, just like all the other men in the Lu family," she commented, glancing at Lu Han, implying he was included. "If we weren't stubborn, how else would we have managed to win such amazing women? Persistence pays off," Lu Han stated proudly.

"And shamelessly so," Jiang Yuyan added, to which Qin Xiu readily agreed.

Meanwhile, at the office, with Noah absent, Xiao Min stepped in to assist Lu Lijun. "What's the current situation here?" Lu Lijun inquired as he finally settled into his chair.

"Our sudden actions and changes in plans have left everyone stunned, and I'm sure Magnus and their supporters are not having it easy now," Xiao Min informed. "Also, I feel they are unusually quiet with their actions."

"Perhaps they are trying to figure out a new way," Lu Lijun replied, resuming his work. "He won't be getting any way out."

Xiao Min had complete faith in Lu Lijun's words, as he had successfully eliminated threats and secured the company's position over the past month, despite numerous dangers surrounding them.

"Instruct San Zemin to tighten security around every family member," Lu Lijun commanded. Xiao Min nodded, "He is already doing it, but I will instruct him again anyway."

Meanwhile, at Jared Magnus's office.

"Mr. Magnus, I don't believe we can continue this partnership. Our company will not be signing a new project with you," stated a man among the group seated before him. "Lu Corporations has truly left us no options, and major business companies like Mings, Wens, and several others are already on their side, along with major foreign investors. The Mountbattens are among the key investors, and we can't get them to sever ties with Lu Corporations," another added. "The son from the Mountbatten family is Lu Lijun's friend, and observing their current trajectory, along with Mings and Wens, it's difficult to sway even them."

"Lu Lijun possesses even stronger connections in Western countries, established during his university days. It seems he was planning his future even as a child. I wonder what skills he has truly acquired."

"We never anticipated that Lu Lijun would not be intimidated by our actions but would instead become bolder, making those risky decisions that he then turned into his achievements."

"It appears there's no way we can stand against them now, or we'll face even greater troubles. We can no longer afford it."

They continued discussing Lu Lijun, Lu Corporation, and their collective failures while Jared Magnus listened silently, without remorse. Once everyone departed, his assistant asked, "Mr. Magnus, what now? I don't think we can even affect Lu Corporation anymore."

"My intention was never to affect Lu Corporation, but the Lu Family," Jared declared. "If I couldn't affect them by disrupting their business, I must pursue another path, the one I intended to save for last. However, it seems we can't wait any longer."

The assistant appeared to understand. "You mean?"

"It's time to visit the Lu family," Jared stated, an evil smirk gracing his lips. "I can't wait to see that woman utterly broken and experience the pain of loss all over again."

This novel will conclude within the next 10-15 chapters. I am working on the ending.
