1618 How Can He Be So Energetic?

Turning around, Lu Lijun acknowledged his awaiting family members. Ning Jiahui, seeing her son after a month's absence, finally displayed a measure of relief.

"Where have you been?" she inquired.

"Just occupied with work," he responded, embracing his mother. "My apologies for causing you to worry."

"If you knew I'd be concerned, why would you put me through that?" she responded with a mild complaint.

Lu Lijun let out a soft chuckle, finding his mother's demeanor unusual. Typically, she maintained a strong facade, rarely indulging in such overt expressions of worry or complaint.

Looking up at him, she questioned, "What are you finding so amusing? Does my concern for you strike you as funny?"

Shaking his head, he suppressed the smile tugging at his lips. "I won't do it again."

"You certainly had better not, or this home will be closed off to you," she warned. Elder Lu then chimed in, "Especially since Yuyan would remain here, and you'd be barred entry. Now that would be a fitting punishment."

The others present nodded in agreement.

"Have you all conspired to gang up on me simultaneously?" Lu Lijun jested, "What a heartless family I possess."

"Go get yourself cleaned up. I will prepare breakfast for you," Ning Jiahui instructed.

Lu Lijun nodded, but then his brother, Lu Han, interjected, "Aunt Jiahui, there's no need to trouble yourself with breakfast preparations—he won't be descending the stairs until lunchtime."

Everyone understood the unspoken meaning behind Lu Han's words and shared knowing smiles.

"No wonder you're my brother; you understand me perfectly," Lu Lijun acknowledged, not shying away from the implication. "I already had a meal during the flight."

"Yes, it must have been quite a satisfying meal," Lu Han chuckled. "We believe you. You may proceed."

Lu Lijun didn't linger for further exchange. He swiftly headed upstairs, making his way directly to Jiang Yuyan's room, which was now their designated shared space. Upon entering, he found Jiang Yuyan by the wardrobe, selecting clothes for him. Sensing his arrival, she turned to him. "Go take a shower."

He obediently took his clothes and proceeded to the bathroom. Following a refreshing shower, with a white towel loosely draped around his waist and one hand habitually ruffling his damp hair, he returned to find Jiang Yuyan arranging a breakfast tray that the butler had just delivered.

She lifted her gaze to meet his, as always finding him an alluring sight. Quickly averting her eyes, she said, "Eat before it grows cold."

Lu Lijun walked towards her and gently took her hand, turning her to face him. "Why the long face?"

"You should be the one asking yourself that," she replied, attempting to pull her hand away. However, he held it firmly and instead drew her closer, causing her to press against his partially unclothed form.

"You can terrify me to the point of rushing home, yet I'm not even allowed to calm my own shaken heart with a kiss from you?"

She furrowed her brows. "In front of the family?"

"They are already aware that I won't be heading downstairs for quite some time," he retorted with a knowing smirk.

"Shameless…"

"Regarding the kiss? What else could I possibly do when they were present, and I couldn't wait to ensure everything between us was mended? Do you realize how anxious I was? I can endure anything, except for you misunderstanding me. The thought of you believing I could be interested in another woman is something I cannot ever bear. That situation could never, ever transpire, and you must be absolutely certain of that."

"I had to do it because Mother was worried, and she instructed me to find a way to bring you back home. It wasn't just her, but the entire family," she explained, her stern demeanor finally softening into calmness, "and that appeared to be the most expedient method."

He raised an eyebrow, a doubtful smirk playing on his lips. "The quickest method to bring me back here, so that I could compensate for the amount you apparently missed me?"

"It was for the sake of the family," she countered, her gaze drifting away.

"Family is merely a convenient excuse," he retorted, lifting her into his arms.

"Lijun, what are you...?"

"Let's proceed with what you summoned me back for, and concurrently, let's not disappoint my family's expectations of me. I shall not be making an appearance downstairs anytime in the near future," he declared, carrying her despite her protests.

"Your meal..."

"In bed," he replied, gently placing her onto the bed and positioning himself above her, having cast the towel aside, leaving him completely bare above her.

"Lijun?"

"Shhh!" He silenced her half-hearted protest with a kiss, his hands moving with practiced speed to remove her attire. "Do not feign a lack of desire for me."

Jiang Yuyan ceased her protests, allowing him to undress her, his actions characterized by a sense of urgency and palpable longing. "We can do this tonight."

"I cannot possibly wait.

My body already aches from being separated from you." "Rogue."

"Shameless rogue—I can be any manner of scoundrel for you, provided I can possess you."

By the time their passionate encounter concluded, an hour had already elapsed. "No more," she warned, utterly spent and covered in a sheen of perspiration.

"It isn't lunchtime yet," he teased.

"But it will certainly be my death time if you persist," she stated, pushing him with her legs. "Go have your meal. Even if it gets cold, you won't be sending it downstairs to reheat."

He glanced at her bare form as he got out of bed. "I've already consumed the hottest meal, so a cold one is perfectly fine for me."

"Shameless, go eat." Lu Lijun emerged from the bathroom, dressed, and began eating. Meanwhile, Jiang Yuyan seized the opportunity to rest, muttering in a discontented tone, "I don't know where he gets so much Qi."

Lu Lijun caught her words and let out a soft chuckle.

She then looked at him. "You haven't taken any... wrong medicines, have you?"

Lu Lijun grasped her implication. "If I had, I'm quite sure you wouldn't be able to walk properly on any given day. You are my very own aphrodisiac."

"A man as lustful as you—I can't fathom how you managed to remain a virgin for so long?"

He laughed. "I was preserving it for you, much like an obedient husband who reserves his indulgence solely for his wife on their special night."

"Don't make me feel as though I've just despoiled the virginity of an innocent man."

"Well, it was intended for you, so it is perfectly acceptable that you ruined it. I would gladly be ruined by you time and time again."

Jiang Yuyan couldn't help but smile at his audacious responses. "Alright, eat."

"You?"

"No, your meal in the tray, you blushing beauty."

Her gentle laughter resonated through the room, warming Lu Lijun's heart.
