A monstrous sea creature attacks the outpost, causing widespread destruction. Just as Meiling and her followers prepare to defend themselves, a second, whale-like creature intervenes and battles the first. Meiling recognizes the whale from a past encounter. However, the red monster ultimately defeats the whale, and turns its attention back to the outpost. Meanwhile, Ren and Anna interrogate a woman about her involvement in attacking Liberator bases.

Meiling fled to the outpost's summit, her pulse a frantic drumbeat against her ribs. All around, the ocean stretched out, its dark waves restless beneath the canopy of night. Several of her devoted Lan followers ascended to join her, their faces ashen amidst the strobing lights. The incessant wail of sirens blended with the cacophony assaulting them from every direction – the shattering impact of explosions, guttural roars that vibrated the very soul, and the high-pitched cries of wind that mimicked human screams.

"Look at that!" exclaimed Maila, a young follower whose eyes were wide with shock. She gestured to the south, where an unnatural fire illuminated the horizon. "Buildings... they're simply disintegrating!"

Meiling's gaze sharpened as she peered into the distance. Far off, on the southern coast, towering structures that once graced the shoreline were being crudely swept aside, much like a child discarding toys. One after another, they fractured, erupting in clouds of dust and debris. A knot formed in her stomach. What kind of power could inflict such destruction? She turned to her followers, witnessing their profound fear.

One woman gripped her weapon, a firearm that pulsed with embedded power. "Lady Meiling, this is utter chaos! The earth is convulsing as if the world is on its last breath. What if our defenses crumble?"

Another follower swiped sweat from her brow. "I’ve faced monstrous beasts before, but this… this feels entirely different. It’s as though the ocean itself is enraged. We’re completely encircled by water. If it decides to advance, there will be no escape."

Meiling gave a solemn nod, striving to maintain her composure. Yet, inwardly, her thoughts were consumed by her mother. Lan Xinyue had vanished from the supposedly secure sleeping quarters. How? And why now? Her gaze swept across the outpost, flickering from one anxious face to another.

The world seemed to contract around her. Every desperate shout, every tremor of the trembling bodies, every nervous shifting of feet registered in her awareness. The wind thrashed her hair, and the ocean's roar intensified, as if time itself had elongated.

From the periphery of her vision, she thought she glimpsed a figure standing atop the distant edifice that currently served as the Lan family's central hub. Her ancestral home, or at least, what was masquerading as it. The silhouette appeared vaguely human, yet an unsettling sensation lingered. Before she could fully register it, a sharp cry seized her attention.

"It's heading this way!" bellowed one of her subordinates from the level below, her voice slicing through the pandemonium.

Meiling snapped her head back towards the south. There, carving through the waves, was a colossal swell. It wasn't merely water, but a darker, more ominous mass – a titanic wave of churning foam and shadow hurtling towards them with terrifying velocity. "Prepare all offensive capabilities!" Meiling commanded, her voice remarkably steady despite the fear coiling within her. "Everyone, channel your Qi! Warriors, erect the defensive barrier! We will stand our ground and annihilate this monstrosity!"

The followers moved with renewed urgency. "Yes, Lady Meiling!" they responded, their bodies igniting with visible energy auras. Some raised their power-infused artifacts, whispering invocations. "Spirits of the abyss, grant us your might!"

As the monstrosity breached the ocean's surface, the outpost's powerful floodlights sliced through the oppressive night, exposing its nightmarish form. Its scales, a ghastly red, shimmered, armored like a fearsome crocodile. Multiple tentacles writhed from its body, each terminating in a cluster of grasping appendages and unblinking eyes that fixed upon them with unholy hunger.

Its primary body was serpentine, undulating through the water with a revolting fluidity, its cavernous maw filled with rows of needle-sharp teeth. Viscous slime dripped from its form, simmering upon the waves.

"By the heavens, what is that abomination?" a woman choked out, staggering backward. "It's… it's a true nightmare!"

The sheer horror proved too much for some. A few turned and fled, their shrieks echoing a desperate plea for survival. "I can't face that thing! Run for your lives!" one screamed as she bolted down the stairs.

Meiling stood momentarily frozen, her blood running like ice. The sight struck her with the force of a physical blow. But then, from the deepest recesses of her being, her Imperial Qi surged. A magnificent dragon, woven from threads of pure gold, erupted behind her, unleashing a silent, powerful roar. It illuminated the entire vicinity with a brilliant radiance, casting stark shadows and imbuing everyone with a palpable warmth. A glimmer of hope sparked in their eyes.

"Look! It's Lady Meiling's dragon!" one follower cried out, her voice soaring with renewed conviction. "We haven't lost yet!"

Their bearing straightened immediately. "Yes! With that power, we can defeat it!"

The creature advanced, its tendrils lashing the turbulent sea. The outpost groaned under the strain. Followers leveled their weapons, the air crackling with their unleashed Qi. "Fire on my command!" Meiling ordered, her golden dragon coiling defensively around her. A heavy suspense blanketed the area. Hearts pounded in unison. Fingers tightened on triggers. The monster's multifaceted eyes locked onto them, promising utter annihilation.

But then, without warning, from the flank, another colossal entity surged from the abyssal depths. A whale-like leviathan, immense and faintly luminescent against the dark sky, crashed against the crimson horror. Water erupted skyward in a colossal geyser, drenching the entire outpost.

"What in the blazes?" Meiling exclaimed, her eyes impossibly wide with astonishment.

A collective gasp went through the crowd, jaws agape. "Another one?" someone managed to whisper. "Is it... actually assisting us?"

They craned their necks, peering over the edge. "Incredible! Look at that! It's engaging the red entity!"

A titanic battle commenced upon the ocean's surface. The whale-like leviathan charged anew, its enormous maw snapping viciously. It collided with the serpentine monster, unleashing tremors that reverberated through the outpost. Tendrils lashed out, their appendages grasping at the whale's flippers.

Eyes embedded within the tentacles emitted corrosive beams of dark energy, searing the water. The whale let out a resonant roar, a profound bellow that shook the very air, and retaliated with a powerful tail sweep that fractured the creature's scales.

"Surely that colossal fish is on our side, correct? It must be!"

Nods of affirmation rippled through the onlookers. "Who is this other being? A guardian from the abyss? Perhaps the spirits heeded my plea!"

Others echoed this sentiment. "Indeed, it fights for us!" one voice boomed. "Take it down, mighty creature!"

However, Meiling's brow knitted in concentration. A flicker of recognition sparked within her. That whale... it seemed eerily familiar. It resembled the very creature that had imprisoned the man during her mission to extract the enigmatic individual from its belly. Or was it...? A fragmented memory surfaced, hazy and indistinct.

A prisoner ensnared within a monstrous form, during an earlier rescue operation. "I've encountered this whale before," she murmured, her voice barely audible.

The fierce combat continued unabated. The whale appeared to be gaining the upper hand, immobilizing the crimson monstrosity with crushing bites. Its massive fins inflicted deep wounds, drawing forth a dark, viscous fluid. The scarlet entity writhed, its numerous tendrils constricting the whale's colossal form. "It has the advantage!" the crowd erupted. "The red one is faltering!"

A surge of optimism filled the air. Cheers and shouts of encouragement emanated from the outpost. "Finish it off!" they urged.

But in a shocking turn of events, the crimson creature erupted with renewed ferocity. It lunged forward, its elongated maw gaping wide. Fangs plunged into the whale's neck. A gruesome crunch echoed across the water. Hemorrhaging profusely, thick, black ichor spilled into the sea, painting the waves a ghastly red beneath the artificial lights. The whale convulsed, but its strength waned, its movements becoming sluggish.

"No!" Meiling cried out, a wave of shock rendering her immobile once more.

The assembled people could only stare in horrified silence. "It's... it's murdering it!" a woman stammered, her voice trembling. "So much blood... the ocean is crimson!"

Another individual clutched their mouth, eyes wide with dread. "All hope is lost. That abomination is coming for us next!"

With a final, agonizing bellow, the whale went limp and lifeless. The red monster released its prey, its massive body descending slowly into the depths. Its sinuous tentacles waved triumphantly as it turned its attention back toward the outpost, its eyes burning with the fire of conquest.

Meanwhile, from the pinnacle of the Lan headquarters, a woman with raven hair sat serenely, her legs dangling precariously over the edge. Beside her rested an unconscious woman, her features placid in sleep. An angel, its wings emitting a faint luminescence, hovered nearby, a silent, vigilant guardian. The dark-haired woman observed the unfolding chaos, her gaze piercing.

"I sought to find her," she whispered, her eyes flicking towards the sleeping woman. "But it appears she is the one who wishes to find you."

The angel inclined its head slightly, offering no verbal response. Below, the pandemonium intensified as the red entity advanced once more. A faint smile graced the woman's lips. "This world is a tapestry of unexpected encounters. Let us witness how Meiling navigates her reunion with her kin. What a spectacle this will be!"

Concurrently, Ren and Anna stood beside a woman who was being forcibly subjected to kneeling by her own attendants and guards. Their eyes held a vacant, almost hypnotized glaze, staring blankly forward, devoid of any discernible will.

Anna fixed the woman with a look of utter loathing, her fists clenched tightly. "Ren, let's eliminate this traitor who believes she can escape consequences."

Ren offered a calm smile, his sharp eyes studying the scene as he tilted his head. "Were you the sole orchestrator of the mercenary assaults on the Liberator bases?"

The woman remained outwardly impassive, her lips pressed into a thin, resolute line. Her gaze remained fixed upon the ground, refusing to acknowledge their presence.

Anna scoffed audibly. "Still defiant? Very well." She turned her head, meeting the vacant gaze of one of the hypnotized women nearby, who was now holding a crude wooden bat.

Without a word, the hypnotized woman swung the bat with moderate force, striking the kneeling woman squarely in the back. The thud of impact reverberated within the chamber, eliciting a sharp cry of pain from the victim. Crimson blood began to bloom through her attire, staining the fabric.

"AHHHHHHHH! Cease this at once!" the woman shrieked, her body convulsing from the painful blow.

Ren knelt before her, his smile unwavering, yet his voice dropped to a menacingly low tone. "So, will you cooperate? Provide answers, or the severity of your torment will escalate."

The woman winced, her breathing labored. "I... I have no knowledge of what you speak."

Anna emitted a cold, derisive laugh. "Oh, truly? Do you perceive us as fools? We possess irrefutable evidence of your clandestine dealings with those hired brigands. We are aware of your complicity; we merely require additional names, or I shall ensure that bat delivers a significantly more forceful impact next time."

Ren drew nearer, his gaze intense. "Speak up. Were you acting alone in this? Or was there someone else manipulating events behind the scenes? Confess, and perhaps we will spare you if you reveal the others involved."
