Levi inquired:
"Has the Sword Saint and Elder Hera thought about aligning with Nora?"
Bringing them aboard would give Nora a massive boost, surpassing even the barbarian tribes' grand merger, drawing in crowds and potentially adding over a dozen level-10 powerhouses with ease.
Hera replied:
"Right now, we prefer not to submit to anyone else's rule; our power lets us stand on our own in the Pan-Plane, though we could ally to fight back against the Abyss and Nightmare together."
Levi responded:
"Very well, it's great to have you both here to talk about partnering up."
Hera turned to the Star Sky Sword Saint and said, "Sir Davis, you can head back now. I'll speak privately with the Dusk Palace Master."
Davis added once more:
"Sir Levi, remember our deal once you hit level 10."
As the Star Sky Sword Saint departed, Hera commented:
"Davis is a born talent for sword arts. The Arm Shura tribe lives three times longer than humans, but he mastered swordsmanship in under six thousand years and rose to level-10 status in just ten thousand, completely devoted to the blade."
Levi remarked: "That's how he earned the title of Sword Saint!"
After some light conversation, Hera questioned: "Have you encountered Sauron, Sir Levi?"
"No, I haven't." Levi denied with a shake of his head. If circumstances had aligned, he might have guessed Hera was close to Sauron; that guy had stirred up quite the chaos.
"Are you Sauron?"
"No."
"Understood."
Hera studied the swordsman in black armor standing across from her, as if gauging if Levi spoke true. At last, she gave a faint nod and stated:
"Since you're not Sauron, then never mind. With turmoil spreading across the Pan-Plane, Nora aims to lead the Multidimensional Plane. I respect your boldness... yet, as head of the Void Holy Tower, I can't simply switch loyalties."
"I get it."
"Here, take this; the Nora Council ought to put it to good use."
Hera handed Levi a see-through insect shell.
"What's this?" Levi wondered.
"It's a level-10 insect shell from the Worm Lord; he gave it to me in exchange for using my secret tracking technique to reach the Survivor of the Vast Sea.
I've left it unused. This will help you pinpoint the Worm Lord's hideout; from there, it's your choice what to do," Hera explained.
"I can't just take it without offering something in return; I've gained so much from you today, elder, and it leaves me both grateful and a bit uneasy. Please, what do I need to give?"
Levi took the insect shell, feeling a touch confused.
The Worm Lord had concealed himself well; Levi's long searches yielded no clues on his location. Now, with this shell's link to its source body and his Nightmare Perception skill, tracking him seemed possible.
Hera continued:
"Lately, I turned down the Underworld's offer to claim the Nether Emperor throne, since taking it would block my path to level 11.
Your successes seem tied to Sauron somehow; given your strength, hitting level 11 looks within reach.
Down the line, just assist me when you can. Truth be told, I'm teetering on the brink of level 11, but I hesitate to make the leap.
Levi caught on quickly—another heavyweight spotting his promise and investing in it. He had to admit... she sure knows talent when she sees it!
"Should I attain level 11, I'll surely aid you as best I can to repay today's kindness," he pondered briefly before replying.
Building ties with a powerhouse like her was definitely beneficial.
To date, no clashes had arisen between the Void Holy Tower and Nora; their realms were simply too distant, and the Pan-Plane's merging barely touched them.
Hera grinned and assured: "Rest easy, I won't ask for what you can't handle. So it's settled, young one."
As Hera departed, Levi scanned the battlefield anew and spotted a misty gray crystal, which brought a pleased grin to his face.
"A level-10 Nightmare Crystal—such a valuable find that even the top figures overlooked it."
Confirming he'd missed nothing, Levi set off for the Giant Kingdom's coordinates.
...
Three years passed.
Nora Calendar year 1720, Blood Battle year 1608.
The Nightmares openly waged war on the Void Holy Temple.
Meanwhile, the Pan-Plane's sixth mightiest, the Star Sky Sword Saint, Luo Country's seventeenth Da He Luo, and the eighteenth-ranked cosmic pirate Dark Conqueror Apollus, all pledged to join the Void Holy Temple.
This emerging second power on the Pan-Plane now boasted ten level-10 experts, outstripping the Council of Ten Thousand Clans at its height, trailing only Nora.
Levi recognized Hera's drive. This move was a direct challenge to Nora in recruiting level-10 talents from the Pan-Plane.
Regardless, the Void Holy Temple was easing Nora's burden against the Nightmare World for now, which helped. After surviving this assault, they'd clash fairly for dominance over the Multidimensional Plane.
Nora's triple triumphs over the Abyss and decisive win against the Nightmare had left a deep mark; reality showed the Giants weren't unbeatable.
The Pan-Plane held its own strength too, with more than a hundred level-10 experts—if they banded together, the Giants wouldn't dare look down on them.
...
Nightmare World.
A assembly of Monarch-level powerhouses wore somber expressions.
The Grey Mist Monarch, who once pursued Levi, fell to Hera and the Star Sky Sword Saint; this invasion marked an unprecedented toll of seven Monarch losses... in the thirty million years of the Near Ancient era, when had they faced such defeats?
The Arrogance Demon Lord fumed:
"These lowly bugs dare band together against us... skirmishes won't cut it anymore. I propose calling forth across the Nightmare realm right away, sending three hundred Nightmare Monarchs to wipe out every level-10 pest!"
"Exactly, the Pan-Plane requires a total cleanse!"
The Lost Monarch, steady amid the riled commanders, urged:
"Hold steady; three hundred is too many and would invite the other Three Realms to exploit us, costing far more than it gains. Keep in mind, our core foe remains the astral world; no matter the Pan-Plane's uprising, their end is doom.
That said, we can't let the Pan-Plane grow wild; squash the sprouts early. From this moment, I'll consult the Supreme Will, rallying 100 Nightmare Monarchs from the realm to smash the Shadow World, Void Holy Temple, and Nora Council!"
The often-thwarted Monarchs had run out of tolerance.
This round, they meant business!
...
Land of Oblivion.
A particular refuge.
Levi tallied the spoils from this ancient tower.
No Sun Refining Artifacts to speak of, alongside 15 Bright Moon Artifacts, 54 Morning Star Artifacts, and a grand total of 546 artifacts across various tiers.
Rare items beyond level 6 included 2 nine-level treasures and 1 divine weapon.
Countless other resources piled up as well.
Upon leaving, Levi crossed paths with the Grey Mist Monarch and snagged a free level-10 Nightmare Crystal Core. He cradled it in his hand, sensing enigmatic spatial pulses and insights swirling inside.
"Truly a fine piece, perfect for delving into Space Sequence Magic."
There was also a level-10 Illusion Device, distinct from a divine weapon since Levi, as the Nightmare Lord, could wield it. After examining it, he learned its title: the Night Barrier Bead.
It offered two key abilities:
One, hiding truths, blocking divination and foresight. Even Levi's potent Deep Red Eyes couldn't pierce it, underscoring its might.
Two, erecting a Nightmare Field spanning a hundred thousand miles, muddling foes' senses, trapping them in dread illusions, and providing strong crowd control.
This gem lacked raw battle power but served as a supreme support tool; until Levi ascended to Nightmare Emperor Dragon at level-10, it would bolster his Nightmare arsenal.
Finally, Levi drew out the level-10 insect shell, his Deep Red Eyes cracking open.
"Little pest, time to uncover your hiding spot?"
