Wizard: Starting With the Knights Breathing Method Chapter 2788: 570: Ancient Affairs, Mythical Origin, and the Secret of the Insects!

"Why are the Dark Insects so intent on invading the astral world?"
"I cannot say for certain. Regardless, since the Ancient Era began, the astral world has been the most vulnerable point in this universe, constantly under siege. Yet, it has never truly fallen. This is likely because it was birthed from the merging of the Star Cluster Brain and the Star Worm, two incredibly potent Primordial Spirits.
However, during my imprisonment in the Abyss, I noticed a demon carrying Magic Tools forged from insect remains. This leads me to believe the Dark Insects might not have targeted the astral world first. It is possible they began their assault on the Abyss, only to retreat swiftly and redirect their forces toward the astral world instead."
Hearing this, Levi felt a sudden tightening in his chest.
Given the voracious nature of these insects, shouldn't they consume everything in their path? Why would they withdraw from the Abyss after making contact? Is it possible that an agreement was struck between the insects and the Abyss? It seemed highly plausible for two civilizations defined solely by their hunger for destruction.
A dark, unsettling theory crossed his mind.
If these insects truly date back to the Primordial Era as Primordial Spirits, could they share a lineage with the Abyss Worm? Perhaps after their initial clash, they recognized their common blood and formed an unholy alliance, plotting together within the Land of Darkness!
The situation was becoming increasingly convoluted.
The depths of the Land of Darkness were far murkier than he had imagined.
Even within a single universe, there were already so many exhausting complications. Levi felt a sense of relief that travel between different universes remained difficult; otherwise, the situation would be truly hopeless.
Furthermore, the timing of the insects' arrival aligned almost perfectly with the start of the plane convergence. Levi knew from the Supreme Council that the convergence was one of Sauron’s grand designs. Was it possible that the emergence of the insects was also orchestrated by Sauron?
If that were true, Sauron was nothing short of a lunatic!
Wait a moment—a sudden realization caused Levi’s expression to shift.
He thought back to the history of how the four great worlds rose. Perhaps Sauron intended to throw the entire board into chaos, using the insects to break the existing four poles. This would allow a fifth, unstable pole to rise, causing the Land of Darkness to "bloom thrice" and foster a power capable of countering the insects to maintain equilibrium.
Under such circumstances, Nora currently held the greatest potential within the Multidimensional Plane. The Shadow World might have once had a similar opportunity, but the giants had crushed it before Sauron’s arrival, severing its path to transcendence. Now, Nora had surpassed all others in both foundation and potential for growth.
Unlike the four preceding giants, Nora was not a product of the Primordial Spirits. It had evolved naturally as a common world within the Multidimensional Plane, birthed by the Land of Darkness itself as one of its very cells.
Though its origins were humble, the rise of wizards had allowed Nora to rapidly distinguish itself from all other planes. Excluding the long ages of primitive ignorance, its actual history of development spanned a mere 300,000 years!
To those who had lived through the vast stretches of the Primordial, Underworld, and Ancient epochs, such a timeframe was but a fleeting moment.
The seamless execution of the Pan-Plane convergence, Nora’s ability to defeat the Abyss three times despite being the underdog, the constant influx of genius talent, and the explosion of magical technology—these were not just the results of the wizard civilization's hard work or the schemes of Sauron and Edmund. Perhaps the Land of Darkness itself was providing unseen assistance!
Otherwise, would the Land of Darkness truly permit the aggressive fusion of thousands of planes? Would the giants of the Overworld, who served as the right hand of the Land of Darkness, really help Nora simply because of Sauron?
These events were a mix of historical inevitability, Sauron’s hidden manipulations, and the Land of Darkness adapting to the changing eras. A multitude of complex factors had converged to create Nora’s current status.
The ascent of Nora was a staggeringly complex chain of events. At its core, it was a clash between Supreme Existences and their respective civilizations, with the Land of Darkness serving as the chessboard.
The man gave a faint, knowing smile and said:
"Doesn't the picture become clearer when you look at it that way? I congratulate you on uncovering some of the hidden truths of this realm. While I have great expectations for you, the cold reality is that in the years ahead, you may find yourself trapped in a cycle of wanting to change the world while feeling utterly powerless.
As the river of time has flowed to this point, the giants have already carved up most of the power and resources. Every step forward we take, every breakthrough we achieve, is like stealing meat from a tiger's mouth. At any moment, we might not live to see the next dawn. This is the inherent helplessness of ordinary life.
No matter how strong you grow, even if you endure the Ninety-nine Eighty-one Tribulations Sauron speaks of and reach Level 11, you will still appear insignificant compared to those eternal entities who have held power since the beginning of time. This is the reality I once witnessed. We cannot alter the grand design; we can only choose to view the sky from the bottom of our well, content in our small corner of the world. That should be enough."
His words weighed heavily on Levi’s heart.
The path to Shu is indeed more difficult than climbing to the heavens!
Whether his theories about the Heavenly Will were accurate or not, Levi understood that the Land of Darkness was inherently brutal.
True beauty was often nothing more than a fleeting Mirage.
Nevertheless, he refused to be broken. He might not possess a genius intellect or the ability to weave schemes like Sauron, and he wasn't born a Primordial Spirit overlord. The only thing he could do was persist in his Cultivation and follow the path he had already chosen!
