Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys Chapter 1626 - 562: Falling One After Another (Part 2)
Previously on Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys...
Two streaks of dark silver light twisted together and streaked past, catching the Nether Sea Goddess Hela completely unprepared, her shock and rage plain to see, and right before she could even complete her sentence, her avatar got cleaved in two, with only a black divine fragment left drifting in the air.
Rein moved in a flash, scooping it into his pouch as he gave a small nod to Sword Saint Terrio and the three others nearby, showing his thanks.
His eyes then shifted toward the Evil God Grek, who was battling intensely against Black Dragon Metheus.
Caught in Rein’s stare, Grek stiffened, and even though his left arm was on the verge of being chomped by the Black Dragon, he abruptly shot upward.
"Sizzle!"
Yet right as he neared a breakthrough of the metal ceiling on the second basement level, three streaks of dark silver light slashed right through him!
All at once, yet another divine fragment dropped down.
"Five pieces!" Rein flashed forward once more and snatched it up.
This spectacle caused the God of Hunting, Luen, who was tangled up with Steel Dragon Dorick, to narrow his eyes sharply without meaning to.
"I will return!"
A furious bellow rang out, and in the very next instant, a massive blast exploded forth.
"Ugh!!!"
The God of Hunting, Luen’s avatar opted for self-destruction, instantly hurling Steel Dragon Dorick back dozens of meters. Despite the Steel Dragon’s mighty defenses, the force of a divine incarnation blowing itself up made it howl in pain.
"He actually self-destructed!"
Rein found himself stunned by the turn of events.
He never would have guessed that the God of Hunting, Luen, could be so determined!
Sword Saint Terrio and his companions were even more shocked—forcing a divine incarnation to blow itself up?
This...
"The wounds aren’t too bad."
"He can just munch on some metal to heal up fast." Rein hurried to Steel Dragon Dorick’s side to check on its condition.
Because it dodged in time and had that incredibly durable hide, Dorick’s injuries weren’t too serious. Plus, in the Floating City, metal was plentiful, so recovery wouldn’t take long.
"Lord Rein... another divine incarnation has already headed upstairs." Haleem rushed over at that point and reported.
"Mm, no need to chase, I already felt his aura disappear, he’s probably escaped." Rein shook his head in response.
In a sudden shift, Rein’s face grew serious!
He warned gravely, "Lord Terrio, everyone stay alert, it feels like something’s rising up from deeper down."
His words barely ended when Rein vanished right there, leaving Terrio and the rest in stunned silence.
Just moments ago, Rein had detected the various confined Demon Powers starting to churn wildly, on the verge of bursting free, while a presence that even unsettled him was climbing up from the Floating City’s depths.
Yet what baffled him even more was that within all that, a strange entity seemed mixed in.
Once he arrived at the third basement level, Rein abruptly recalled something and halted his steps.
He swiftly pulled out the five divine fragments of varying colors and forms from his chest pocket, thought for a second, then clenched the tiniest one in his fist.
It might have been because the Devouring Snake had part of its form tainted by Fiend Demon during the earlier fight, making its divine fragment the smallest of them all.
"The presence below looks incredibly tough to handle."
"Better to absorb the Devouring Snake’s divine fragment first and boost my power." Rein furrowed his brow, musing to himself.
The very next moment, as a puff of dark red mist spread out, the Devouring Snake’s divine fragment disappeared entirely from Rein’s grasp.
Right away, a system prompt chimed:
[Ding! Detecting a divine fragment that can boost spiritual power fission degree, accelerate absorption? (Note: System absorption removes impurities and allows full intake in one go.)]
Well-versed in the procedure, Rein picked "Yes!" without delay.
In that instant, he sensed a sinister and immense force pouring from the divine fragment, accompanied by the hiss of a massive serpent ringing in his ears.
This wouldn’t faze Rein at all, but for folks like Haleem, Ogre, and the other Dawn Wizards, the leftover will of the Evil God would probably corrupt them quickly, causing twisted changes.
Thanks to the system’s cleansing, every trace of the Devouring Snake’s will got wiped out, leaving behind clean power that surged from Rein’s arm directly into his consciousness.
Inside Rein’s mental sea, like the core of a fracturing planet, his spiritual core pulsed with growing intensity and force.
Two seconds after the absorption finished, Rein glanced at his status panel:
Spirit: 414 (Fission 9%)
"Oh, even the tiniest one bumped it up by 8%?!"
Rein felt a touch of astonishment, but mostly joy.
The astonishment came from his initial belief that the divine fragment wouldn’t offer much to a Full Moon Wizard.
However, it turned out his assumptions were wrong.
The divine fragment’s impact far exceeded what he’d pictured.
And the joy was straightforward enough.
Since advancing as a Full Moon Wizard was notoriously hard.
Rein had pored over old records before, learning that most ancient Full Moon Wizards took decades or even over a century for such a gain.
But for him, it happened in a mere instant.
Afterward, Rein moved on to absorbing the second, third fragment...
But when he reached the fourth, a truly odd shape burst up from under the third basement level’s metal floor, and those sealed ’gas canisters’ began shaking fiercely.
...
Imperial City Tamriel.
In the front yard garden of Rein Mansion, Bo He clutched a chunk of roasted meat, feeding and petting Qu Qi, whose coat gleamed with a glossy sheen. The girl and the dog radiated a relaxed, easygoing vibe.
