Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys Chapter 1581 - 545: Whose Hunt Is It? (Part 2)
Previously on Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys...
"Grek, why don't you handle this part? I'll head over to assist Luen with that boy."
"Huh? Hela, do you truly need to leave?" The god called Grek towered at seventy to eighty meters in height, his head adorned with a crown full of precious gems, his form encased in shining golden armor from head to toe.
Even more startling was the fact that countless arms sprouted all over his body, plain for anyone to see, marking him clearly as the Evil God revered by the Cult of Amputation.
He had already seized the necks of a Green Dragon and a Red Dragon with two arms sprouting from his back, forcing their heads to unleash wild bursts of fire and corrosive acid everywhere.
"We should smash these pests right in front of us fast, then finish off that human emperor trying to reignite the Divine Fire—that's the real priority."
"Exactly, Luen isn't going down that quick; let's tackle what's happening now."
"Fine." Hela gave a nod.
Deep down, she still felt the Blasphemer needed swift elimination before he could keep advancing, yet pressing issues demanded attention first.
This mission's key goal was wiping out the emperor of the human Empire, nothing more.
With every passing moment, the avatars they had summoned by force would lose more and more strength.
Besides, she could tell Luen's aura lingered on, so the Blasphemer's recent attack hadn't taken him out.
Over on the Empire's side.
"Rein's power is insane! He just beat a Divine Incarnation all by himself?" Sword Saint Lambert gazed at the distant mushroom cloud hanging in the sky, completely stunned.
He had figured that reaching Sword Saint level would let him catch up a lot to Rein, but looking at it now, had the distance shrunk even a bit?
On the contrary, it felt like Rein was pulling way ahead!
"Hold on, it's not over—the foe only got hurt, not beaten." Menia watched sharper than Lambert, detecting the God of Hunting Luen's essence still there, refusing to fade.
"That's... 'Molten Core Flame'!" Elder Ivan, bound to a Red Dragon like Rein, spotted right away that Rein had unleashed the Red Dragon Secret Technique 'Molten Core Flame'.
"But how could that be?" Elder Ivan's eyes bulged as he muttered under his breath.
Everyone knew the Molten Core Flame secret technique demanded at least three Red Dragons at the Extreme Old Dragon stage working together, much like Wizards teaming up for a High Rank Witch Array.
No lone Red Dragon could pull it off solo.
But Rein had done exactly that.
The rest of the Imperial Guardians linked to Red Dragons wore faces full of shock too, clearly picking up on the same thing.
For the nobles and fighters gathered in the arena, their spirits soared high!
"Could that really be Rein? Incredible stuff."
"The God of Hunting probably got wiped out in that blast, huh?"
"Hope Rein didn't take too much damage?"
...
Far off in the sky.
The Dark Silver Dragon form of Rein dripped with blood, barely any scales left whole.
Though he'd tried blocking the God of Hunting Luen, Rein couldn't dodge the blast from his own Molten Core Flame, taking heavy damage; luckily, his tough build and fast healing kicked in, mending the injuries on his body rapidly.
By contrast, the God of Hunting Luen looked way worse off than Rein.
One eye gone blind, his left arm shredded from palm to elbow, skin nowhere unbroken across his frame; most of it burned black, belching out heavy plumes of dark smoke.
Still, his wounds mended at a furious pace too.
What troubled Rein most was how Luen's power had dimmed, yet the danger he posed spiked higher than ever.
It was as if doom waited just around the corner.
"Excellent!" Luen growled low.
"You've got my full attention now, human."
"Starting today, you're my official quarry—fight for survival with everything you've got!"
Right after those words, Luen whipped his right hand's Single-bladed Battle Axe forward, chopping down at Rein from afar with brutal force.
Suddenly, warning signals blared in Rein's head!
"Virtualization!" In a flash, with no time to pump more points into stamina recovery, Rein triggered his unique Void Dragon skill.
The Dark Silver Dragon stretching over eighty meters turned see-through in an instant.
"Sizzle!"
Even then, a deep gash ripped open across Rein's dragon form, from left neck to the base of the right wing, blood gushing upward.
"What!"
"My Virtualization should block over ninety percent of physical attacks, but this..." Rein's eyes went wide, fixed in disbelief on the ugly slash over his chest.
"Huh? You're still alive?"
Truth be told, the God of Hunting Luen felt even more stunned than Rein.
As a Deity, he understood perfectly what move he'd just unleashed.
Against his 'Tearing Strike', any other god's Divine Body would shred apart on the spot, yet this human before him somehow endured it using a weird power.
"Dual Ability Talent?"
"With the Multi-Headed Dragon Bloodline, you pulled off 'Subspace Teleportation' earlier and now this 'Virtualization'—your gifts go way past extraordinary."
Luen swiftly pegged Rein's prior skills as matching a Void Dragon's signature moves.
"I figure I ought to snag you alive for some research."
...
Rein pondered his next moves inwardly.
In that short clash moments ago, Rein had burned through plenty of aces; without the three-point regen he'd done, his stamina would've run dry ages back.
"If three-headed 'Molten Core Flame' fell short, then four it is!"
"But I gotta draw his eye first."
As Rein's gaze sharpened, a huge metal monster rose slowly from the earth kilometers off, its massive Demon Tyrannosaurus head breaking the surface.
Those blood-red eyes fixed on the God of Hunting Luen hovering far in the air.
"Huh?"
Feeling a pull, Luen turned his attention briefly from Rein to the dirt below.
"Swish!"
Two beams of red energy shot straight at Luen without warning.
At that exact instant, Rein activated Shadow Shifting, popping up right behind Luen in a heartbeat.
"Roar!!!"
A fresh bulge formed along the neck of Rein's Dark Silver Dragon shape, as a fourth Red Dragon head blinked open.
The Red Dragon Secret Technique 'Molten Core Flame' boasted the advantage that piling on more Extremely Old Dragon Level Red Dragons kept boosting its might.
"Fiery Breath!" All four heads blasted out cone-shaped fire streams at once!
The four blasts of scorching breath converged on the God of Hunting Luen, swelling into a huge fireball before him, radiating a blinding white glow much bigger than last time.
"You..." Staring into that glare brighter than the sun by far, Luen's expression twisted in real fear for the first time!
Rein, fiercer than before, triggered Shadow Shifting once more to flank him, clamping Luen's arms with his dragon talons and coiling his tail tight around the god's midsection.
Only the primary dragon head stayed out of sight.
"Boom!!!"
A mushroom cloud dwarfing the previous one erupted skyward!
This blast's shockwave hammered homes and structures a thousand meters down, wrecking close to a hundred in different ways.
Moments after, no trace remained of the God of Hunting Luen's enormous silhouette up there, just the blood-soaked Dark Silver Dragon left hanging.
That said, Rein wasn't faring well himself, panting hard, his dragon tail reduced to a stub with most of it vaporized clean in the savage detonation.
His sturdy claws lay in tatters, scales gone to gas, scant muscle clinging to the bones of his arms, dripping red.
Nevertheless, despite the dire wounds, Rein's eyes gleamed with fierce light, locked straight forward.
A palm-sized blood-red crystal hovered there, like a Divine Power Crystal, floating in the air; looking closer, Luen's furious face seemed etched into its glossy, mirror-like sides.
"A Divine Power Crystal? Wait, no—this vibe means it's a Divine Fragment."
Rein sensed the mighty Will pulsing inside, straight from the God of Hunting Luen.
