What Do You Mean I'm The Captain Of A Yandere Mercenary Company? Chapter 980: Visiting The Bartenders’ Home

I stepped into the lobby of the apartment building that had scanners put up just like the ones I had to walk through when I entered the station at the docking arm.
I made sure to send a message to Valiea to ask if I needed some kind of clearance first but she told me she had already registered me and the girls to let us walk through it without worry.
Trusting her, I walked through the scanners without hesitation, watching as the red glow of the scanners scanned me for a moment before turning green.
Moving to the lift lobby, I stepped inside it to find there were no buttons to press but the contraption was already aware of my destination as the doors shut themselves and it began to move on its own.
I watched the numbers rise up rapidly as the elevator ascended, feeling my ears pop as the air pressure changed rapidly from the ascent.
It finally slowed down as it reached the penthouse and a chime came from unseen speakers within to signal my arrival.
Stepping out to the lift lobby of the penthouse floor, there was only a single door there which was obviously the main entrance to the penthouse.
Walking up to it, I was going to knock on the door when another scan came from a hidden camera above the door before flashing a green light, prompting a click from the door before it swung inwards automatically.
Really? You guys are trusting us to this degree where you’ll just let me in your house like that? Because I’m pretty sure for them to do this, they basically registered me into their home system to allow me to unlock their main entrance whenever I wanted...
Are they not concerned that I might take advantage of their trust or something? I could just come in here and then rob their place blind, you know?
Not that I would do that of course... But I think their absolute trust in me is quite concerning...
Oh wait... I think it’s also because they saw my dog... If I really wanted to, my dog and I could just break our way into their home regardless of whatever security they might have.
I guess... Considering that fact, this might make sense.
I stepped inside the penthouse, entering the large entrance hall that had several art pieces that I had no idea what the meaning was decorating the area.
I took off my ’boots’ at the entrance and slipped into a pair of slippers that were left out in front of the hall before stepping into what appeared to be the living room.
My girls were gathered around a large couch with Valiea and Ragbar entertaining them, handing out more drinks and snacks which they were clearly enjoying.
"Tera! You made it!" Valiea greeted me, waving two of her extra hands at me while the other two hands were occupied holding a tray of snacks. "Did you have any trouble coming here?"
I was just about to tell her no reflexively when I stopped myself.
Hell no, I had a lot of trouble coming here!
"Yes! Why the heck is this station full of crooks and crazy people?!" I yelled out a little louder than I had intended to.
My girls turned to look at me in alarm.
"What happened, Captain?" Mara asked, looking quite worried.
"I had to take the train here and I witnessed a literal murder take place on board the train. Some guy just came on board, told another guy they should have paid up, then just straight up shot the guy in front of me! And as if that wasn’t enough, some other guy tried to be a hero and he got his head blown out too! Then some other commuters tried to fight for the loot and ended up killing each other as well!! What the fuck?!"
Ragbar at least had the decency to grimace and smile apologetically at me, "Yeah... That’s kind of a normal sight you would see on the train. Sometimes you might even get a big gang fight inside the train itself and... It gets pretty bloody."
"Not only that..." I continued, remembering what just happened not even five minutes ago. "When I got off, I got stalked by a gang of thugs and I had to lead them to the alley beside your building to kill them! There were like over a dozen of them and they even tried to subdue me with an EMP blast! They would have disabled me if it wasn’t for the fact that I did not have any cyware mods on me!"
Valiea scratched her cheek, "Yeah... We’ve already heard news of several Mercs and visitors to this station getting robbed and killed by these thugs using that tactic against them...It’s not surprising that these things happened since this station is located in the outer rims of the Outer Colonies after all..."
I gave them a pointed look, "Why did you guys even decide to stay on a station like this? Aren’t there better places to live aside from here? I’m pretty sure you would still be able to attract a crowd in the more safer stations within the Outer Colonies."
Ragbar chuckled, "Well... We did tell you that the real estate here was cheap because of the location... But there were big investors moving in to invest in this place and there were talks about making this place into a major trade hub within this sector so we wanted to capitalise on that by entering it early. It’ll take some time before the streets are clean but once they start colonising Xetarva, this station would undergo a big change. The place will be safer, for sure. We’ll just need to put up with this for a year or two before that happens."
I’ll respect the hustle I guess... They’re willing to take the risk for the rewards... And by how things have been going for them, I think their rewards have been quite substantial.
I let out a sigh, "I guess... It’s your home after all, it’s fine if you two are fine with it."
Ragbar laughed, "Ahahaha! Of course we’re fine! We couldn’t have bought a place like this or even our club if we were living in another station!"
I decided to change the topic and gestured at my girls, "So... What were you guys doing? And seriously? You’re all still drinking? I think we’ve had enough drinks tonight already, haven’t we? We already drank so much back at the club!"
Amber chuckled while raising a bottle of alcohol that she looked determined to empty, "Ehehehe~ There’s... Mmmm... No such thing as... Too much drink, Tera! Ehehehe! You should drink too!!"
I huffed at her, "You better not drink so much that you get sick all over the place, ok? Remember that we’re guests here."
Amber scoffed and let out a cute burp, "Mmm... Don’t worry, Tera! I can... Mmmm... Keep it down... If you give me a kiss~"
This girl is really taking advantage of the situation huh... Though I’m technically enabling her because I still went up to give her a kiss anyway even though I knew that wouldn’t help with her drunken state.
She giggled into the kiss before leaning back, looking like she was already halfway to falling asleep.
"Mmm... So perfect..." She moaned, right before taking another swig from the bottle directly.
Valiea chuckled and handed me a glass of what was a green coloured cocktail that smelt a little sweet.
"They were just catching us up to what you guys went through ever since we had to go our separate ways. I can’t believe so many things happened to you girls in such a short time. Did you really end up going to the Inner Colonies?"
I nodded, "Yeah... Though we were primarily there for work and not for pleasure so we didn’t really get much of a chance to visit anywhere while we were there."
Ragbar grinned, "As much as I might not like living there... You should visit some of the places if you have the chance. There are quite a lot of tourist destinations and planets that are great for a vacation. I think you girls would definitely like some of them."
"I don’t doubt it. Probably once we’re done with Xetarva, we might go for a quick vacation first before I go and attempt to get my cooking license."
I shifted my gaze to Vier, since she was the one who assured me that she would arrange everything related to that.
She caught my eye and gave me a subtle nod, indicating that she remembered our arrangement well.
Ragbar turned to grin at me, "A cooking license huh? I can’t wait to see what you will do when you show all those stuck up morons what you can do. My only regret is not being there to watch you show off myself. Hahaha! Maybe you can even start a legitimate restaurant at this rate!"
Hmm... I’m not too sure about that... I guess we’ll just have to see how things go...
