Yuki, accompanied by the protagonist, confronted guards at a locked-down building. She used her dogs and implied knowledge of an "untamed dog" inside to force entry, suggesting the boss might have gotten himself killed trying to handle it. Their path to the boss's office was blocked by a jammed elevator, but Yuki's dogs blasted the doors open, revealing a way to climb up.

Ascending the elevator shaft, the dogs were secured to a rope harness dangling beneath me, allowing us to transport them upward along the ladder.

Naturally, I was employing my telekinesis discreetly to manage their weight, as individually hoisting three full-grown golden retrievers up a ladder was an insurmountable task.

Yuki shot me a peculiar glance as I positioned them below me and secured the rope, yet she remained silent as we commenced our climb.

The dogs seemed quite content with my levitation, wagging their tails and behaving as though they were on an amusement park ride.

Their cuteness factor meant I couldn't bring myself to complain.

Behind us, the secretary bodyguard and several security personnel followed, obviously unwilling to entrust their boss's safety solely to our capabilities.

Upon reaching the lift's base, Yuki turned to me, her gaze prompting a question of her intentions.

"Can you release one of my dogs, please?" she inquired.

Huh? Release a dog? Wouldn't it plummet down the elevator shaft if I did?

Or... Ah! Are you suggesting the dog possesses the ability to break through the lift's floor, and you intend for it to ascend and perform this task?

Understood then~

I proceeded to draw one of the golden retrievers close, until it was pressed against my chest. The dog offered a happy bark and a lick to my face before I managed to undo its harness and set it free.

Subsequently, I lifted it, anticipating Yuki would take the dog from me to guide it towards the lift's underside. However, she simply narrowed her eyes at me, stating, "What are you doing? Let go of the dog."

What? She genuinely wants me to release the dog?

Her attention shifted to the golden retriever in my arms. "Go. Break the floor here," she commanded.

The golden retriever looked between her and me, as if seeking my approval before obeying the order.

Since she seemed so certain... I gave the dog a nod.

The golden retriever then ascended to my shoulder, utilizing me as a stepping stone to leap towards the elevator above. With a swift motion, its claws made a rapid slash against the underside, creating a perfectly cut rectangular section that detached and tumbled down the shaft, leaving an opening for us to enter.

As for the dog... My heart sank as it too began to fall towards the shaft's bottom. I was just about to risk exposing my powers with telekinesis when it twisted mid-air and used the shaft wall as a rebound point.

I watched, mesmerized, as the dog began to ascend, bouncing off the elevator shaft's walls, and finally clambered into the newly formed hole. It then turned back, barking at us joyfully.

Err... Did I perhaps... Overworry about the dogs unnecessarily?

Maybe I could have just allowed them to navigate on their own instead of carrying them?

...

I glanced down at the final two dogs, their tongues lolling out and tails wagging beneath me, clearly enjoying the ride.

You know what? Totally worth it.

Just as Yuki prepared to climb through the opening, the secretary bodyguard shouted from below.

"Stop right there!! We’ll go ahead first and ensure our boss is safe! I don't want you taking advantage of this situation and doing anything to him while we are still down here!!"

Yuki exchanged a look with me, and I offered a shrug, indicating it wouldn't significantly impede us even if we complied.

We both shifted to the side, gripping onto a handhold next to the ladder, allowing the group to ascend past us and enter the elevator before us.

After ensuring they had all climbed through the opening, we followed, only to find them standing inside the lift, obstructing the doorway.

The golden retriever that had entered first sat patiently in a corner, her tongue out and panting adorably, awaiting our arrival.

Naturally, I gave her a head pat for her good behavior.

My attention then returned to the group before me, who, for reasons unknown, were simply standing in the doorway without budging.

"Hey? What are you guys doing?" I inquired.

Silence was their only response.

Hmm... Oh, wait... I suppose they're stunned by the corpses scattered around the floor. It must be quite a gruesome scene.

Yuki scoffed at them, "Move aside, damn it."

Yeah! Show them! Tell them to get lost!

Yuki pushed her way to the front of the group while I finished untying the harness for the last two dogs.

Upon completion, I noticed the unsettling quiet behind me persisted. Turning, I saw Yuki, who had already reached the front, had also halted and was simply standing there.

I moved towards them and nudged past them. "Hey? What's wrong?"

Someone's breath beside me whispered, "Do... Not... Move..."

Huh?

Surprisingly, Yuki also whispered in my direction, "You... Don't make any sudden movements... Can you... Control this one?"

Wait… Did something happen to the dog I left here?! Don’t tell me some other creature appeared and attacked her?!!

I immediately pushed past the group to reach the front, only to see the Mastiff I had left behind standing right where I had left it. Her fur was raised up threateningly, and she let out low growls while glaring at the people ahead.

I guess… Even for me, seeing a huge dog like that growling and bristling would make me pause, despite the fact that it’s a cute dog.

Right now, the dog was standing over Kaito’s body, with that poor guy’s spine still dumped on the ground beside the corpse.

There was no question the guy was dead with just a glance.

The moment the dog saw me, however, she relaxed slightly, though she was still watching the others around me warily, ready to pounce at any notice.

Hmm… I have to pretend like this is the first time I’m seeing the dog, so…

"That’s a dog, isn’t it?" I asked.

Yuki gulped, "I believe so… I… Did not know that it could be that big…"

That’s what she-- No. Stop.

Also… Weren’t you the one who smuggled this dog in here? Are you telling me you had no idea the dog was going to be this big until now?

She then slowly turned her head towards me, "Can you… Control it?"

Looking at her, she was actually giving me a pleading look, clearly also scared of the giant dog in front of us.

I think she believes that if I couldn’t control it, we would all be killed right now the moment the dog became hostile.

Did she forget that I was here earlier and basically made the dog do all this?

I guess she got so scared that she really forgot…

I turned back to the dog and took a few steps forward, away from the group.

A few gasps came from behind, probably expecting me to get mauled by the Mastiff the moment I stepped away from the group.

Instead, the dog just watched me, her tail wagging a little and her head raising just slightly.

I’m guessing she was wondering if she should attack the people behind me, but figured that I probably didn’t want her to do that by stepping out towards her.

I tried to act like I was also unsure of myself before I reached out my hand towards her.

"Sit."

She obediently sat down on her haunches and started panting at me.

Ahhhh!! So cute!! I want to go in and start rubbing my face in her fur!! She’s soooo cute!!

I let out a breath before turning back to the group, "Seems like I can control her…"

The collective sighs of relief from the group filled the air as everyone relaxed.

The secretary bodyguard then rushed forward, her gaze scanning through the room to find that not only was her boss mauled, her coworkers were also similarly killed by none other than the dog.

She glared at the dog, who immediately turned her gaze to glare back at the woman, prompting her to recoil back slightly in fear before she hurriedly looked away.

The dog sniffed at her before turning back to me.

Yuki then approached me, "You really are something, Miss Tera… Please remind me to never be your enemy."

Come on... You make it sound like I’m a monster...
