The group ascends an elevator shaft using dogs and a rope harness, with the protagonist secretly using telekinesis. They encounter a hole in the elevator floor, created by one of the dogs, and a group of bodyguards who insist on going ahead. Inside the elevator, they find corpses and are stopped by a large, aggressive Mastiff. The protagonist reveals their control over the dog, calming it down and reassuring the group.

We observed with feigned sympathy as the secretary bodyguard and the rest of the security personnel gathered around the deceased Kaito, lamenting the demise of their leader.

It struck me as rather humorous that they had attempted to sabotage Yuki’s exhibition, only to feign ignorance afterward, and now… we had essentially ended their boss’s life and presented ourselves as their saviors.

One of the security guards turned to the secretary, inquiring, "What shall we do now? What is to become of us?"

Her lips thinned, evidently lacking a response.

Her inability to provide an answer suggested to me that Kaito likely had no designated successor for the company and no one equipped to manage it in his stead.

Naturally, Yuki seized the opportunity. Gesturing toward them, she proposed, "If you find yourselves leaderless at this moment, perhaps I could step in and assist? I am prepared to acquire this company and ensure everyone retains their positions. How does that sound?"

Oh, heavens… Seriously? You're suggesting a company takeover with their boss’s corpse still lying before them? I doubt his body has even begun to cool, you know?

The secretary glared at her, accusingly asking, "Was this your strategy all along? Eliminate our boss and then absorb the company to crush your competition?"

Yuki crossed her arms, retorting, "Even if it were, what recourse do you have? Will you kill me here, in front of everyone, and ensure this company and all within it are utterly ruined? At least with me, your livelihoods can remain secure, albeit under new management. Moreover, considering we are already acquainted, this outcome is likely the most favorable for all involved, wouldn't you agree?"

I could discern the secretary bodyguard's teeth grinding in vexation, aware of the truth in Yuki’s words but disliking the situation immensely.

She clenched her fist and stated, "I will… contact you again once a decision has been reached."

Yuki offered a shrug. "I imagine you require time to compile the necessary information for the transition. However, do not delay unduly; my offer is not indefinite. The longer you take, the less appealing this company may become for acquisition."

The secretary bodyguard turned away, refusing to yield an answer.

Yuki then nodded toward the Mastiff resting beside me. "I presume you will not be keeping this dog? Considering its actions toward your boss… He truly should have exercised better judgment than to acquire an untrained canine."

With no objections raised, Yuki gestured for me to follow, and we returned to the elevator, which now bore a gaping hole in its floor.

Fortunately, it remained operational after we removed the bodies, allowing us to descend to a lower level before exiting the premises.

Everyone we encountered gave us a wide berth, likely intimidated by the presence of four dogs, one of which was significantly larger than the others.

Yuki guided me through the streets until we arrived at a staircase descending into an underground tunnel, where my girls awaited our arrival.

The moment they laid eyes on the dogs, however, they froze, and I felt a pang of sympathy for them.

Amber pointed a trembling finger at the Mastiff. "Tera… I don't wish to alarm you, but… what on earth is that?"

I gently patted the Mastiff's head. "It's the dog that assisted us in dispatching Kaito."

"That's a dog?"

"I understand its appearance is alarming, but… yes, it is indeed a dog."

Yumiko frowned, her voice laced with concern. "Is it safe, Mistress?"

"Well… as you can observe… it's not currently attempting to harm me, so… I believe so?"

Although my girls trusted my judgment implicitly, it was evident they harbored reservations about the dog itself.

Nevertheless, observing that the Mastiff remained placidly by my side and displayed no aggression towards anyone, they refrained from objecting to its presence and simply accepted it.

Yuki turned to me, taking a moment to ensure our privacy before speaking softly.

"I must admit… I did not anticipate such a successful outcome. My gratitude to you, Miss Tera."

I raised an eyebrow in response. "The matter isn't concluded yet, is it? They could still refuse to sell the company out of sheer spite."

She shrugged dismissively. "It is of little consequence. That company is now without a leader, rendering them incapable of competing with us. You have not only eliminated their leader but also those who might have sustained its operations."

Ah… so Kaito's secretaries also served as his executives… That must have been quite demanding, if you ask me.

Not only were they expected to attend to his needs, but they also managed significant portions of the company on his behalf. The benefits they must have received must have been substantial.

"And what of the last one?" I inquired, referring to the individual I had permitted to live.

She waved a dismissive hand. "Her, I know. Her responsibilities were confined to his personal security, with no involvement in administrative matters. She lacks the capacity to assume leadership independently."

Hmm... So, does this mean I've not only eliminated the boss but also annihilated his entire board of directors? How unlucky for him.

Yet, it's truly his own fault for assembling everyone in one location. I'm quite certain his company spans far beyond this single station, meaning he deliberately transports all his vital personnel wherever he travels.

Yumiko sniffed from beside me, "Mistress... Did he suffer?"

Ah, I had nearly forgotten. The boss was the cousin of her former right-hand man, who had essentially usurped everything that rightfully belonged to that individual.

Yumiko likely harbors a deep resentment towards him for that.

I gave a nod. "Rest assured, he spent the entire duration weeping and pleading for his life."

That seemed to placate her, as her tail began to wag with the same vigor as the other canine companions accompanying me.

Unnghh... They are all so endearing~

If I were compelled to choose between the dogs and Yumiko...

Hmm... I'd like to claim I couldn't decide, but I suspect Yumiko might hold a slight edge over the dogs. My apologies.

Lea tentatively raised her hand. "Mmm... Doesn't that individual have family? Wouldn't the company naturally pass to them?"

Yuki scoffed loudly. "Ha! That stingy miser was so paranoid about his own family potentially murdering him to seize his ill-gotten gains that he instituted a strict policy: absolutely no family members were to be involved in his company, even after his demise. It's quite ironic now, isn't it, that his company will fall into the hands of outsiders?"

Ries's ears perked up. "Oh!! Does this imply that if you were to acquire his company, you'd also release all the armaments his company has manufactured to the public?!"

Ah yes... That is Ries's primary grievance with that particular individual.

Yuki raised an inquisitive eyebrow. "Release them? Certainly not! I intend to utilize his creations for my own security firm, thereby granting my company a significant advantage over competitors. Some of his technology is state-of-the-art, surpassing anything currently available on the market. If I can equip my security forces with his equipment, I would essentially become the undisputed leader in this sector of the galaxy!"

Yes... That sounds entirely plausible... I mean... That's perfectly normal, isn't it?

Ries then turned, a scowl directed at me. "Boss!! We should acquire that company instead! Don't permit her to purchase it!"

I met my cat-girl's gaze. "I'm going to venture a guess that even if we were to liquidate all our assets, we wouldn't possess enough funds to acquire even half the company's valuation, Ries... There is no possibility of us making such a purchase..."

Ries pouted, her ears drooping slightly with evident disappointment.

It almost tempted me to wish I had the financial means to buy that company, solely to witness her spirits lift once more.

Fortunately, such an extreme measure was unnecessary, as gently patting her head achieved the very same outcome. She began to purr as I stroked her head.

Yuki then turned her attention back to me. "I will transfer the funds to you upon my return. However, what are your intentions regarding that... Dog?"

All eyes shifted towards the Mastiff resting calmly beside me before returning their focus to me.

I drew a sharp breath, having mentally braced myself for this exact moment.

"May I keep her?" I inquired.

"Ahhhhh!! Tera?! Are you absolutely certain that's a prudent decision?"

"We agreed on acquiring a dog, but isn't that one excessively large?!"

"She's frightening, Mistress..."

My companions began to voice their collective protests.

I cleared my throat. "I will ensure each of you receives an exceptionally satisfying night tonight if you permit me to keep her. Two full hours dedicated solely to intimacy."

A beat of silence ensued.

"Deal," they all declared in unison.

Excellent.
