Previously on What Do You Mean I'm The Captain Of A Yandere Mercenary Company?...
Tera meets a smuggler and receives a large crate, which contains a giant, fluffy dog. The dog, a mix of Tibetan Mastiff and Caucasian Ovcharka, is surprisingly obedient and easily accepts Tera's affection. Amber contacts Tera, expressing surprise at the dog's size, and they agree to meet at their target's office.
The dog, about the size of a pony, was gently placed into the transport box prepared by Ries.
Ensuring the creature was comfortable, the door was secured, leaving the large container for Renata to consume later. The next step involved delivering this box directly to Kaito’s office. Having visited before, I was confident in my ability to gain entry.
This certainty stemmed from my unique advantages: a Psionic power and an eldritch entity as my hidden cheats, abilities I hoped no one else possessed. For the time being, Renata secreted the box away while I returned to the common levels of the Pleasure Station.
Strolling past the lush pool area of the recreation zone, I observed the vacationers with a pang of envy. They all appeared incredibly engrossed in their enjoyment...
Tsk... Just you wait! Once this assignment is concluded, I’ll gather the girls, and we’ll indulge in the pleasures of this very station! We'll lavish our Credits, experiencing every luxury this place has to offer!!
My gaze drifted towards the imposing structure in the distance, the location I remembered as Kaito’s office. Intriguingly, the area surrounding the building was heavily fortified, with armored personnel and even Power Armor units standing guard. This heightened security was likely a precaution against a retaliatory strike from Yuki, in response to the treatment she received during her exhibition.
While I doubted Yuki would resort to an open assault in broad daylight within the Pleasure Station, this display might serve as a demonstration of Kaito’s strength. Perhaps the station’s owner would be impressed by Kaito’s arsenal and favor him over Yuki following the exhibition.
Regardless, his office was situated on the building's uppermost floor, necessitating a stealthy infiltration past the numerous guards. Alright... The initial phase of the plan is underway...
"Think you can manage it, Renata?" I inquired, retreating into a nearby corner to conceal myself from view.
"Mmm… Since I didn’t consume them, I can only replicate their armor’s appearance, but it should suffice!"
My attire began to liquefy, transforming into a viscous goo that flowed across my body, enveloping my head. It then re-coalesced, forming body armor identical in appearance to that worn by the guards outside. I deliberately overlooked Renata's brief, yet firm, squeeze of my chest and groin before she completed her transformation. It was hardly a novel occurrence, so I offered no comment.
With her complete, I emerged from the building’s shadowed corner and proceeded towards the cluster of armored sentinels. A flicker of concern crossed my mind regarding potential scanners or identity checks, but surprisingly, no one challenged me. A few guards even cast fleeting glances in my direction before resuming their watchful positions. Perfect.
Regrettably, the main entrance appeared sealed shut, barring passage even for fellow armored personnel. This was anticipated and therefore inconsequential. I navigated through the guarded perimeter, identifying a section with fewer patrols, and pressed myself against the building's exterior wall.
With my back thus positioned, I activated my Codex, initiating a call to my companions. The connection was established the instant the ringing ceased.
"Ohhh~ You look incredibly alluring, Tera~" Amber chirped the moment her image appeared on my screen. I was currently encased in combat armor, obscuring my entire form. The only 'heat' emanating from me was the ambient temperature within the suit.
"Mmm~ I love you too, Amber. Where are you all?"
"We’ve secured the building directly across from your location~ Look up~"
Complying, I narrowed my eyes, scanning the designated structure. High atop the roof, a familiar blonde beauty waved – Lily. The building, intended as a shopping complex with a rooftop lounge, made her presence there unsurprising. However, its lower elevation compared to Kaito’s building might hinder their view into his office. Then again, direct observation wasn't necessary, as I would be relaying all information. Their position was primarily for contingency purposes, should Plans B or C become necessary.
"I see you. Are we ready?" I queried.
"Whenever you are~ Proceed, Tera!"
Very well.
Ensuring no one was observing me, I pressed my back against the wall with increased force. I felt myself being absorbed into it as Renata dissolved the material, allowing me to pass through. I effectively 'melted' into the wall, reappearing on the opposite side, while Renata seamlessly reconstructed the barrier, leaving no trace of my passage.
Having arrived, I scanned the area for the elevator that promised direct access to Kaito’s office. It was prominently visible, guarded by a formation of armored soldiers, establishing yet another defensive perimeter.
I wondered if Kaito's paranoia was escalating, given the extensive security measures in place.
Nevertheless, I proceeded towards the lobby, positioning myself near the elevator but maintaining a discreet distance from the guards, aiming to appear as though I were merely conducting routine patrols.
Regrettably, my attempt at subtlety was short-lived, as someone noticed me and approached, firearm held loosely at his side.
"You there... Identify yourself and state your designation," he commanded.
I feigned ignorance, turning my gaze in the opposite direction and began to walk away.
"Hey! I’m speaking to you! Where do you think you’re going?!"
Damn it... Come on... Just return to your post, blast it... Why must you be so nosy…
I rounded a corner, ensuring no surveillance cameras were present, before ascending to the ceiling. Utilizing my telekinesis, I adhered myself to the overhead structure, concealing myself just as the guard rounded the bend.
"Hey you-- What? What the..."
The man halted, his eyes scanning the deserted corridor, clearly baffled by the sudden disappearance of the individual he was pursuing.
"Psst... Daddy?" Renata's voice whispered near my ear. "There’s a ceiling panel just ahead... I believe we can traverse through there~"
Glancing upwards, I indeed spotted the faint outline of a panel directly in front of me. I floated towards it and nudged the panel upward, revealing a confined space above, just large enough for a person to crawl through.
Without delay, I slipped into the ceiling cavity, securing the panel behind me before the guard below could detect my presence.
Based on the location of this hidden passage, the elevator shaft must be directly overhead... There~
I navigated through the cramped space, emerging through a metal grate into the elevator shaft, with the elevator car stationary below me.
That was remarkably simple.
I then propelled myself upward through the shaft, ascending rapidly until I reached the uppermost floor.
Prying open the doors, I stepped onto the landing, fully expecting to find myself in the same chamber where I had previously met Kaito.
From this vantage point, I would need to transfer to a private elevator to reach his office directly, so... Huh?
Within the room, a solitary figure was kneeling in the center, facing my direction as if my arrival had been anticipated all along.
It took me a moment to recognize her as one of the secretary-type individuals who frequently accompanied Kaito. Judging by the sword resting beside her on the floor, she was also tasked with guarding this area.
"So she truly did dispatch someone after all," she murmured, her hand reaching to retrieve the sword as she rose to her feet.
Blast... Ugh...
"Ahem... I'm not sure of what you speak. The elevator was experiencing a malfunction, so I'm here to repair it," I fabricated.
She remained silent, drawing her sword and activating it, causing the blade's edge to glow with an ominous red light.
Without the slightest hesitation, she lunged towards me, attempting to slice her sword at my neck in a clear attempt to decapitate me.
However, before her blade could reach its target... I raised my hand and delivered a backhanded blow across her chest, sending her hurtling backward to collide with the wall.
Her sword clattered loudly to the floor, and the woman crumpled to the ground, unconscious.
Hmm... My apologies, I haven't the time for pleasantries, so please rest there for the moment~
