The protagonist is led to a strange facility filled with exotic creatures and meets Yuki Nakamura, a member of a family of "Biotamers." Yuki believes the protagonist also possesses this ability and can control creatures, but the protagonist denies knowing what a Biotamer is. She attempts to prove her point by commanding her dog, Seraphim, but the dog inexplicably ignores her and goes to the protagonist instead, much to Yuki's shock.
The teal-haired CEO eventually invited me to her office for a brief discussion. This happened after she instructed me to place the turtle into one of the designated enclosures. She explained her plan to establish a zoo where visitors could observe the creatures she cared for, for a fee. Initially, I harbored concerns that the enclosures might be inhumane or unsuitable for the animals. However, as I had observed previously, Yuki seemed to prioritize the creatures' comfort above all else within their respective habitats. Indeed, the turtle ambled contentedly into its allocated space and settled down, appearing quite pleased. With the turtle safely and happily situated, she guided me to a different, much faster elevator. It returned us swiftly to the main area of the station. From there, she led us through several corridors to yet another elevator, which ascended directly to her private office. I should also mention that the golden retriever remained by my side throughout this entire process, cheerfully following along and wagging its tail whenever I reached down to give it a friendly pat. The office, quite ironically, bore a striking resemblance in design to Kaito’s office, leading me to wonder if one had drawn inspiration from the other. Suddenly, the golden retriever let out a bark and bounded away from me, heading towards a corner of the room. I initially thought it had lost interest in me, but then it began barking specifically at that particular corner. It was at this moment that two panels slid upwards from the wall, revealing two more golden retrievers. They emerged and started barking at the first dog. The one named Seraphim recommenced its enthusiastic bouncing and barking, which I interpreted as her excitedly informing the others about me, as they immediately raised their heads to look in my direction. All three dogs then sprinted towards me, stopping abruptly at my feet, panting with eager anticipation. I noticed Amber and Lea instinctively take a few steps back as the dogs approached, and I felt a pang of sympathy for them. Unfortunately, I only have two hands-- Wait a moment. Secretly, I summoned a tentacle from my chest, shaping it into a hand, and began petting all three dogs simultaneously. Yes!! This is precisely what this ability is for!! Ahhhhh~ They are so adorable! Pat pat pat~ Yuki called out from her desk, where she had now taken a seat, "Miss Tera... Please take a seat here when you are finished..." Oh, my apologies. I got a little too caught up there... I withdrew my hands, steeling my resolve to ignore the disappointed whines emanating from the three dogs, before ultimately relenting and giving them one last affectionate pat on the head. Finally, I stepped away from them. I proceeded to the desk and sat in the chair opposite Yuki, with Amber and Lea joining me. The dogs, however, opted to remain nearby, settling down on the floor not far from us. Yuki steepled her fingers and began, "Let us be candid, Miss Tera... I shall extend the same courtesy to you, as I hope we can foster a positive relationship. Surely, we both stand to gain from such an arrangement, would you not agree?" I responded with a shrug, "I'm unsure? I don't really believe you can offer me anything I desire, though?" I hadn't intended to be dismissive, but I was merely stating the truth. The woman before me didn't seem unduly bothered by my assertion. She merely gestured towards me, stating, "Judging by our earlier interaction, I believe there is certainly something I can offer you. You are unaware of the existence of Biotamers, and I am willing to share that knowledge. Ah, but perhaps I am getting ahead of myself. First things first, your payment for delivering the items to me..." She placed a Credit Chip on the table and slid it across to me. I extended my hand, stopping it just before it slid off the edge, and picked it up. Connecting it to my Codex, the figure of twenty million appeared on the screen. I suppose that's a reasonable sum for a simple delivery job, so I didn't raise any objections. In the first place, we hadn't anticipated receiving any payment, as we were informed this might be a ruse to discredit Kaito. However, it appears that was not the case at all, given how the turtle was placed in one of the exhibits as a pet. This means that Kaito fellow was deceiving us from the very beginning. I see... I should have known... Leaning back in my seat, I nodded at her, "I could likely uncover that information through other channels, but I must admit that maintaining a good business relationship with you would also be quite profitable. So, let's discuss it." She nodded, "First things first... When did you first notice your ability to control other creatures?" "Hmm... I'm not entirely certain, actually? Perhaps a few months ago?"

"And what was the creature that you controlled? Is it the same species as the ones you’ve met today?"

"No, they were different. And I wouldn’t even say control... It’s just that they were friendly towards me? I wasn’t actively trying to control it, you know?"

She frowned at me, "Is that so? Hmm... No matter, perhaps it would be better for me to just explain it to you. I assume none of you have heard about Biotamers before this?"

Lea raised her hand, "I believe I have. But the information I know is that they are considered pseudo nobles of some sort within the UTG territories, is that correct?"

Yuki’s eyebrows lowered slightly, "You are not wrong. There is a saying where a Psionic controls reality while a Biotamer tames it."

I raised an eyebrow, "What do you mean by that?"

"I assume you are already familiar with Psionics? Like what kind of abilities they possess and how they came about?"

"Well... To a certain degree I guess? At least as much as what an average person might know about them."

"This would make things easier. You could say that Biotamers are the mirrored and less acknowledged versions of Psionics. We are more subtle with our power usage which allowed most of us to go unnoticed until recently. Although I said ’recently’... It happened a few hundred years ago during the AI Rebellion so it isn’t really that recent."

I managed to keep my face neutral when she said that, trying not to show any signs that I found it ironic that we also just discovered the truth behind the rebellion recently.

She then gestured at the dogs, "During that time, everyone had to band together to fight against the AI rebellion and we had even made use of creatures like dogs to fight the machines. While most of the time, we basically dropped them in the battlefield to let them wreck havoc, it became a problem when we had to clean up after a battle as the dogs might also be hostile to the cleanup crew."

I’m more surprised that they even deployed dogs against machines because I wonder how they would be effective against them. Then I remembered the last time where I saw a dog shredding through body armour with their claws and teeth and I figured they probably didn’t have a problem shredding through machines either.

She continued, "That’s when we realised that there’s a specific group of people who are able to have some control over the creatures. Where some people seemed to be able to command them and direct them with orders and get them to obey."

I raised an eyebrow, "I’m assuming they’re Biotamers?"

"That’s correct. And the ability seemed to be genetic so there’s also Biotamer families where each family has their own specialties. As you might have figured, mine allows me to command this specific breed of dogs. There are other Biotamer families who are able to command other species as well."

I paused, "Wait... Are all the animals in your zoo creatures that you can control?"

She shook her head, "No. I am limited to only this species of dogs. Pretty much every Biotamer that I have come across would only be able to control one or two species of creatures at most. So hearing that you are able to control, or as you claimed... ’Being friendly’, towards more than one species is certainly surprising to hear. I believe you might have awakened as a special type of Biotamer that has never been seen before, Miss Tera."

Ok great... First it was the Psionic thing and I have yet to even properly get accustomed to... Now you’re throwing something else at me too?

What’s next? Is someone going to tell me I’m a wizard or a witch?
