Vampire's Slice Of Life Chapter 1185 Upper Realm

The lopsided battle concluded swiftly. Lith joined Fei and Sylvia by channeling his spiritual power into the tattoo etched upon his left calf. This mark, depicting heavy, interlocking chains, suddenly unfurled and manifested in reality. The ancient, rusted links hissed through the air, tightly binding the cloaked figure. This power was a remnant of a calamity Lith endured during a century-long imprisonment in the dimension separating the AGC and EGC clan territories. Remarkably, the ability affected even a Legendary Rank entity! It was an incredibly overpowered feat, even if the restraint only lasted for a fleeting moment. That split second, however, provided Fei and Sylvia the opening they needed to unleash their own powers upon the foe. Under their assault, the figure shrank rapidly as its garments withered and turned to dust. Once the robes vanished, a skeletal frame was revealed—a Lich-like creature wreathed in blazing fire. Now reduced to a miniature version of its former self, the entity shrieked in pure terror, baffled by how quickly the tides of battle had turned. Trapped within a cage of void and with a veil of frozen Time locked around its neck, the creature was rendered immobile, capable only of speech.
While the flames atop its head flickered, every spark below its neck remained frozen in place. "Who are you people!?! How can such strength exist within the lower realms!?!" the creature demanded. Behind it, the Asuras felt their knees buckle, nearly losing control of their bladders in fright. Their guardian deity had been neutralized with effortless ease! These were monsters—utter monsters! All their lives, they believed only the Royal Asuras possessed the power to defeat a guardian deity in single combat. Encountering individuals with strength rivaling the Asura Royals was a first for them. They shared the same panicked thought as their guardian: who exactly were these people?!
Lith had not been boasting when he remarked on the cloaked figure's audacity in trying to seize his sword. Having spent his life in a world where people generally avoided seeking their own deaths, he found such recklessness rare. Most people he knew were rational and avoided offending powerful beings; furthermore, Lith usually kept to himself, focusing on natural disasters and calamities. He was actually quite surprised by how effectively the chains functioned. Though the success was partly due to the element of surprise, seeing them work against a Legendary Rank was a revelation. His hundred years spent in that calamity dimension had clearly paid off! On paper, he might still be classified as a Half Emperor Rank, but his true strength had long since surpassed his own realm. He was truly a powerhouse!
This self-reflection lasted only a moment before Lith regained his composure. He knew that without Fei and Sylvia, things wouldn't have been this simple. Humbling himself, he turned his attention back to the Lich. "You keep mentioning the lower realm. Are you an exile from the upper realm who was banished to this place?"
"Banished?" the Lich sneered, its initial terror evaporating as its inherent arrogance resurfaced. It clearly possessed a deep sense of pride.
"Only a fool would imagine a being of my stature being exiled here. I am merely a remnant will of my true self in the upper realm—a dignified Asura of the genuine Asura God Clan." Lith’s eyebrows shot up in genuine surprise. "Oh? A visitor from the higher realm? And you aren't even attempting to conceal your identity. Are you not concerned about the trouble this might bring?" "Trouble? What sort of trouble can ants possibly cause? Those in this realm don't even qualify as ants. Compared to the residents of the upper realm, you are nothing more than insignificant dust." The cloaked entity sneered, finally regaining its bearing as it realized it wasn't truly vulnerable. Having spent so many years in this realm, the Lich had momentarily forgotten its nature as a remnant will. Only after being cornered did it regain its rationality and remember its origin. It was the fragment of a proud, superior being! "Tell me more, then," Lith said, his expression one of genuine interest. "Why should I? Who do you think you are?" the remnant will spat back. Lith remained unfazed, replying calmly, "I see. It appears a mere will is terrified that those it labels 'insignificant' might actually cause problems with the right information. Is the upper realm so fragile that simple knowledge could cause it to collapse?" The flames atop the will's head flared with renewed intensity, signaling its fury. Despite being an intelligent entity, its pride was its weakness. As a remnant will, it inherently believed its original body was invincible. "What could you possibly know? The upper realm is the residence of true gods. Not entry-level gods like your kind. By comparison, this lower realm is nothing but a playground..."
The Lich spent several minutes disparaging the lower realm. During this time, Fei and Sylvia moved to seal the Asuras and the Evure vanguard, ensuring they were unconscious and unable to overhear the conversation. The Lich noticed their actions but didn't care, continuing its arrogant lecture about the upper realm. Through the Lich's blatant condescension, Lith managed to extract several vital details.
The upper realm was indeed the home of genuine gods, implying that a realm existed far beyond the Legendary Rank, which was merely the starting point of godhood. The Asuras were a dominant clan that controlled the overlapping territories of the Death, Destruction, and Dark domains, making them one of the premier powers in that world. From this, Lith surmised there were other domains, perhaps where the Evure God Clan resided. The final piece of information gleaned from the boastful Lich was that the Asuras were actively trying to dominate the lower realms through indirect means. While they couldn't intervene directly, they employed various methods to interfere. Shen Ze was a minor concern to them; seeing that the local Asuras were already formidable, they simply left behind the remnant will of an Elder to monitor the situation. "I understand. So that's the situation. Now... tell me, how do you transmit your reports back to the upper realm?" Lith asked the most critical question. Predictably, the remnant will refused to answer, falling into a stubborn silence. Lith raised an eyebrow and added, "You know, I have many ways to make a person talk. Would you like to experience them firsthand?"
