Yumi and Zixin announce their pregnancy to the family. Later, a week passes and Qiang slips, causing her and her unborn twins to be in critical condition. She is rushed to the hospital for an emergency surgery.

"My friend, you are a father now," Yushen declared, enveloping him in a hug. It was then that Guang truly grasped the magnitude of the situation; he was now the father to two tiny infants.

The sudden weight of the profound responsibility that had entered his life made his chest feel constricted. Although he had believed himself prepared, the reality of it left him filled with apprehension and worry.

Little did he anticipate that all his anxieties would simply melt away the moment he held his two little blessings.

...

Five months elapsed.

Within the opulent Li mansion.

Zian's eyes widened in disbelief, his breath catching as he stammered, "What? You must be joking, surely?"

"Pray tell, why would I jest about something like this?"

"So, you're informing me that you are already four months pregnant, and you've only just discovered this today?" Upon receiving Mian's nod, Zian's brow furrowed, "How could you possibly be unaware for so long?"

"And what kind of question is that? How could *you* not have noticed?" she retorted sharply.

"Darling, the child is growing within you, not me," he reasoned gently.

"Yes, I am acutely aware of that fact." Settling onto the edge of the bed, she let out a long sigh. "My menstrual cycles have perpetually been irregular, so I simply didn't give it much thought. I assumed I was gaining weight because I'd been indulging in quite a bit of food lately."

Sitting close beside her, he commented, "Well, that offers a partial explanation, but what about the morning sickness and those frequent mood swings?"

"I never experienced any significant morning sickness. I mean, perhaps I felt a bit off a couple of times, but I just brushed them aside." Resting her head against his shoulder, she sighed again, "What are we going to do now?"

"What do you mean, 'what do we do'? Naturally, our first priority is a thorough medical examination with the doctor. Following that, we must concentrate on improving your health. We've already lost precious time unintentionally. Now, our focus must be on ensuring the nourishment of both you and the baby," Zian stated with conviction.

Tightening her hold on his arm, she anxiously inquired, "Are we truly prepared for this?"

"The truth is, we aren't completely ready, but we must become so now. Do you recall what my mother always told us? If we plan for a baby, it's a pleasant and comfortable journey. However, if the baby chooses to surprise us, we simply have to adapt and prepare ourselves immediately." Planting a kiss atop her head, he reassured her, "Fear not, darling, we can handle this."

.....

Five months later.

Outside the hospital doors.

"Will you please cease this excessive panic? What is truly the matter with you?"

"But—"

"Just look at your face, Zian. Anyone would think *I* am the one about to give birth, not you," Mian chided her husband, who had been experiencing a nervous breakdown ever since she went into labor.

"Like father, like son," Mike remarked, glancing towards Singtan. "Your son truly inherited all your notable traits."

"Indeed, and why shouldn't he? He is my son, after all. Whose traits would you expect him to possess if not mine?"

"Could the two of you perhaps pause this discussion for the moment?" Ming interjected, walking towards her son, who was intently staring at the entrance of the labor room.

"Zian, you must calm yourself. Everything is going to turn out alright," she attempted to soothe him.

"I-They wouldn't permit me to enter; I should be inside with her—"

"They deliberately barred your entry because they feared you might faint before the baby's arrival, which would undoubtedly create unnecessary complications," Zixin explained with a touch of sarcasm.

"Yes, much like what transpired with you," Mike added with a grin.

Knitting his brows, Zixin offered a defense. "I did not faint; I was merely resting after the baby's birth because I was utterly exhausted."

This recalled the incident four months prior when Yumi, overcome by the ordeal, had collapsed within the labor room shortly after their daughter's birth.

"Everything will indeed be alright, won't it?" Zian sought reassurance from his mother.

Before Ming could formulate a response, Singtan's voice cut in, "Zian, come over here for a moment." Leading him to a quiet corner, he explained, "Everything is going to be perfectly fine now—I mean, within the confines of the labor room. Following the baby's birth, everyone will be showering you with congratulations, and you'll experience an intense rush of excitement from the adrenaline. You might even find yourself weeping tears of joy when you hold your newborn for the very first time. However, understand this clearly: things will *not* remain okay after that initial moment."

His brow furrowed in confusion, Zian inquired with a touch of unease, "What exactly do you mean, Father? You're starting to frighten me."

"There is truly nothing to be alarmed about; you will comprehend my meaning perfectly once the baby has arrived."

A short while later, a nurse emerged from the labor room, announcing to the anxious crowd, "Congratulations, everyone! It's a baby girl. Both mother and child are healthy and doing wonderfully."

Releasing a profound sigh of relief, Zian slumped onto the bench situated near the labor room. Whatever his father had ominously predicted seemed entirely nonsensical at this particular moment. His wife and child were safe and sound, and that was the only thing that truly mattered to him above all else.

Little did he comprehend that, in the days to come, every single word his father had spoken would resonate with undeniable clarity and truth.

......…...THE END......…..
