Luca attempts to emulate Oliver's draining bloodline ability to prevent Oliver from rampaging, despite Xavier's concerns. Luca, heavily protected, proceeds with the plan. When the brothers reunite, Luca discharges a massive amount of energy, inadvertently overloading Oliver's system and causing him to faint. Luca realizes his attempt may have been ill-advised, but Oliver is no longer discharging energy.

"Ugh... mnnn..."

A scent so utterly tantalizing drifted through the air that a certain blonde couldn’t help but sniff groggily as he let out a sleepy groan.

His toes even twiddled excitedly beneath the covers.

Was this the smell of heaven?!

It must be!

With such a delicious fragrance wafting all around him, how could this possibly be anything other than heaven, especially considering that earlier—

Wait.

"..."

"!"

"!!!"

Oh god.

Then, as if the memory of what had actually happened suddenly shocked him awake all over again, the blonde’s eyes flew wide open!

Forget the smell of freshly prepared food, which probably would’ve helped him recover just as much as a revive pill in this case, because right now, he had a much bigger emergency!

Ollie shot straight up in bed like the dead abruptly rising from the grave, panicking as his hands flew all over himself. He touched his head, checked his hair, and, oddly enough, even patted his stomach before screeching at the top of his lungs,

"AM I DEAD?! IS THIS HEAVEN?!"

His head whipped frantically from side to side, only for him to finally notice everyone standing around his bed, with Kyle and Luca sitting closest to him.

And right behind those two kind, reassuring faces, which nearly made the blonde’s eyes tremble as he prepared to shed tears of pure relief, were the faces of his parents.

Particularly his Pop.

Who looked constipated.

Those narrowed eyes made Marquis Osmond look for all the world like he was seconds away from dishing out one severe ass-whooping!

"!!!"

The blonde couldn’t help but openly screech again, utterly mortified.

"Definitely not! Butts can’t possibly get whooped in heaven!"

"Baaah! You dare—!"

Marquis Osmond Mylor felt his nape heating up and his blood pressure rapidly spiking at this brat’s antics!

As if it wasn’t already enough that they’d suffered a moment of great panic after hearing that their child had ended up in the medical bay shortly after unlocking his bloodline ability!

Because of that, he and his wife had rushed over from their work outside the dungeon space to check on their child’s welfare, only to learn that he’d somehow ended up like this after engaging in a full-blown battle with a beast core that would normally never have been able to exert its will in the first place!

Trust this particular kid to always make the impossible possible!

Then again, that entire chaotic ordeal concerning Oliver’s awakening was apparently only part of what everyone present in the dungeon space had experienced today, so what more could he really say?

Still, it really seemed that even after getting married, they would continue needing to pray daily for this child.

And even more so for everyone around him!

The patriarch of House Mylor could only let out a heavy sigh before turning politely and apologetically toward Luca.

"Luca, please. If you can tell us what you want replanted or which areas need to be rehabilitated, we’d gladly take care of the work ourselves. At the very least, we can help replace all those trees and shrubs that were destroyed during the earlier incident—"

"Oh, no! That’s really not needed at all!" Luca immediately chimed in with a bright smile, quickly raising both hands in front of him in a polite refusal. "It really wasn’t my brother’s fault!"

"!"

Ollie gasped in pure shock.

"What?! Wrecked trees and shrubs..." His eyes widened. "Was I strong?! But I don’t remember—"

"It was Luca."

"..."

Ollie hadn’t even been given enough time to properly imagine that maybe, just maybe, he’d somehow been powerful enough to cause all that destruction himself before the fragile little illusion was mercilessly shattered.

And by his own husband, no less.

From the side, Kyle, whose arm was already being held by his little star after said Ollie had unconsciously sought him out for some much-needed physical contact, calmly added,

"During the trials to control your bloodline ability."

"!!!"

Then, as if shocked by everything he’d temporarily forgotten suddenly flashing through his memories all at once, Ollie froze.

His good brother coming over to help him while looking like he was wearing multiple tires around his body...

That extremely successful emulation...

Those terrifying, blinding arcs of electricity...

And Ollie genuinely thinking death was upon him...

"Brother!"

The blonde’s eyes practically bulged.

Because if had trouble controlling the discharge, then what more Luca, who’d looked like he could generate enough electricity for the entirety of Planet Nova?!

"Are you alright?! How could I forget?!"

Ollie’s hand, which had been squeezing Kyle’s arm by force of habit, immediately flew straight toward Luca’s face, squishing his cheeks several different ways as if that would somehow help him check whether his good brother was still completely intact!

Luca simply chuckled, speaking through his thoroughly squished cheeks.

"I’m all good, Brother! There’s a bit of damage that needs to be taken care of in the clearing we used, but overall, I think we learned a few things from that experiment!"

"Damage?!" Ollie blurted out, partly mortified. "Are the cabins still standing?!"

Luca offered him one adorable, reassuring smile.

"Oh, the cabins were too far away! Also, i-it’s really not that bad! If anything, we’ve got plenty of great charcoal for a barbecue now! Maybe we can even have a small gathering to welcome Lord Curtis and Lady Eden!"

"..."

Ollie finally let out the breath he’d been holding, relaxing slightly.

"Really? That’s good, then!"

But how come when he actually got to the clearing they’d used earlier...

He couldn’t even recognize it?!

"..."

The now self-powered lighthouse stared.

Then stared some more.

Where did the clearing even go?!

__

"This... How did this happen?"

Oliver Mylor stared at the basically charred clearing in complete disbelief.

It looked as if someone had dug gaping holes all over the terrain, while several massive trees that had definitely been standing there just moments ago were now completely gone!

Well, apparently, it was a long story, judging by the sheepish grin his golden-eyed sworn brother offered him.
