Yan Yuhan agrees to Yan Yusheng's suggestion to have Quan Che over for dinner. While discussing the arrangements, Yan Yuhan receives a text from an unknown number, which he recognizes as An Zijin. This interaction sparks curiosity in Yan Yusheng about her brother's sudden mood change.

Two days later, Yan Yuhan confirmed her question through his actions.

On the very night she invited Quan Che home for a meal, Yan Yuhan arrived with a stunning young lady.

Yan Yusheng immediately recognized her; it was the very woman from the photograph she had glimpsed in her brother's chamber.

They had initially formed a favorable impression of each other, but these two hit it off splendidly in no time, forging a quick bond.

“Zijin, how is it that you know my brother? I’ve never heard him utter your name before!” Yan Yusheng inquired, her curiosity piqued as she and An Zijin were seated on the courtyard swing, gently swaying back and forth.

An Zijin felt a touch of embarrassment. She hadn't anticipated events unfolding quite so rapidly.

On the morning Yan Yuhan departed, she had genuinely believed they might never cross paths again.

Yet, to her surprise, he appeared at her school the very next day…

Following that encounter, everything seemed to progress without a hitch.

After An Zijin recounted her tale, Yan Yusheng was left quite astonished. “So, you’ve known my brother for less than a week?”

“That’s right,” An Zijin affirmed with a nod. “Approximately five days.”

“Five days?!” Yan Yusheng couldn't contain her astonishment. “And in just five days, you’ve already met his parents?”

An Zijin's blush deepened. “Yes…”

She, too, acknowledged the breakneck pace of their relationship.

But…

Casting a glance back towards Yan Yuhan, who was conversing with Quan Che in the nearby pavilion, she offered another smile.

The truth was, when one found the right person, the passage of time truly became inconsequential.

Observing the way An Zijin regarded her brother, Yan Yusheng’s initial exclamations melted into heartfelt blessings. “That’s wonderful! My brother won't feel so alone anymore!”

An Zijin, upon hearing this, turned to face Yan Yusheng and posed a question, “Yusheng, what about the two of you?”

“Us?” Yan Yusheng paused, her gaze instinctively drifting towards Quan Che, who stood not far away.

She couldn't fathom the subjects of his and her brother's discussion, but a subtle smile played on his lips, and his elegant Phoenix eyes seemed to hold the most captivating and brilliant hues in existence.

A smile mirrored on her own face, Yan Yusheng murmured, “We’ve known each other since we were quite young. You could say we’re… childhood sweethearts.”

“Wow, how incredibly romantic!” An Zijin’s eyes sparkled with delight, and she quickly followed up, “You grew up together then?”

“Not quite. He went abroad for a period and only recently returned.”

“Did you maintain contact all this time?”

“Yes…”

“…”

As the two young women engaged in conversation, Yan Yuhan and Quan Che would occasionally cast glances their way.

Quan Che's gaze would often settle upon Yan Yusheng's face, imbued with a gentle tenderness and deep affection.

He could clearly perceive Yan Yusheng's profound fondness for An Zijin.

“She saved you?” Quan Che inquired suddenly, his attention shifting to An Zijin, who was animatedly chatting with Yan Yusheng.

“She did,” Yan Yuhan confirmed. Quan Che was already aware of the circumstances surrounding Yan Yuhan's period of disappearance.

“Love at first sight?” Quan Che probed further.

A smile touched Yan Yuhan's lips at the question. He, too, turned to admire the smiling Yan Yusheng, the girl with the luminous eyes and pearly teeth. “Some connections are simply fated.”

“You speak the truth. Fated,” Quan Che agreed, his eyes lingering on the girl whose long tresses were playfully tossed by the breeze. She was undeniably his.

After they had sat for a while longer, Aunt Liu emerged to announce that dinner was ready.

It was then that the four of them rose and proceeded into the drawing-room.

Yan Jun and Xia Jinqi had already taken their seats and observed the four youngsters entering in pairs.

The elder couple exchanged knowing smiles, their hands finding each other's.

The children have all grown, and their love…

…never wavers.
