The Legendary Son-in-law of the Emperor Chapter 1810 - 1807: Hundred Coffin Cliff (Part 1)

Xuan Sect.
Upon an ancient Immortal Mountain, the abundant Heaven and Earth Essence Qi permeated the air, so potent it manifested beings leaping through its peaks.
And there, on a cliff halfway up the mountain, a coffin was suspended.
This coffin was meticulously crafted from Azure Divine Wood, conspicuously lacking any engraved Dao Patterns.
Should an exceptionally learned expert lay eyes upon this, they would immediately discern that this Azure Divine Wood was, in fact, the supremely rare and precious Longevity Divine Wood!
A coffin fashioned from Longevity Divine Wood possesses the unique ability to seal a cultivator's Essence Qi Spirit, thereby significantly retarding the natural loss of lifespan!
Ordinarily, such coffins are reserved by the Sect for individuals of the utmost importance.
A great many elder cultivators are not even deemed worthy of such an honor and must resort to self-sealing slumbers as a means to slow their inevitable demise.
However, when contrasted with the efficacy of Longevity Divine Wood, this self-imposed method appears exceedingly crude.
Its capacity for preserving lifespan is also entirely insufficient.
Upon a more discerning inspection, it would become apparent that multiple coffins, all constructed from Longevity Divine Wood, were conspicuously hanging from the cliffs of this very Immortal Mountain.
In total, there were precisely eighteen of these coffins!
At this very moment.
Upon the surfaces of these coffins, one figure after another was seated.
They encompassed ancient men with hair as white as snow, wizened old women with hunched backs, youthful boys, women of radiant beauty, and robust middle-aged men in their physical prime.
Each of them sat upon their respective coffins, their gazes collectively fixed upon the grand entrance of the Xuan Sect.
There, three individuals were slowly making their approach towards this sacred land of millennia.
"This individual carries a Great Phenomenon; presumably, this must be Ye Xuan, the son of Little Tian."
The white-haired old man, seated upon the foremost coffin, gradually spoke: "It is widely rumored that he has acquired the fabled Immortal Treasure and... the World Tree within the Great Ruins."
"To have secured the World Tree signifies this person’s unparalleled good fortune."
On a nearby cliff, a youth adorned with jade pendants on his ears lounged, remarking nonchalantly: "This particular item cannot be forcefully taken, as the World Tree has already acknowledged this person as its master. However, regarding the Immortal Treasure, various factions will undoubtedly seek to contend for it; this person’s arrival at our Xuan Sect means it is improper for us to seize it outright, but we could perhaps engage in trade to examine the Immortal Treasure."
"Excellent!"
As the youth’s words concluded, other elders perched on the surrounding cliffs voiced their assent.
The white-haired old man offered a slight nod: "This matter should indeed be entrusted to Little Tian to convey, after all, since it concerns his own son, it would be most fitting and stable for him to be the one to speak."
"Agreed!"
With their collective agreement, all their forms dissolved into nothingness.
Vanishing like shifting sands.
It transpired that these elders were not physical beings but rather mere manifestations of a Divine Thought.
Only the solitary white-haired old man remained; he lightly tapped upon his coffin board.
Moments later.
A flash of Mysterious Light flickered, and a spirited elder with dark hair, clad in a flowing Taiji Daoist robe, materialized near the coffin. He bowed respectfully:
"Disciple Yan Jingyun, pays his respects to Ancestor Cang!"
The white-haired elder acknowledged this with a gentle wave of his hand: "Little Tian has returned, bringing his son Ye Xuan, who is in possession of an Immortal Treasure; you should discuss this matter with Little Tian."
"Ensure you do not resort to force; otherwise, given Little Tian’s formidable temperament, he will undoubtedly refuse."
With those words, the white-haired elder vanished without affording Yan Jingyun any opportunity to respond.
Yan Jingyun’s expression contorted, tinged with displeasure.
It must be recalled that when the Xuan Sect had initially accepted Ye Mingtian, it had been done with utmost discretion, unknown to the outside world.
Ostensibly, the Xuan Sect had merely accepted a new disciple.
In reality, the entire Xuan Sect was acutely aware of his unyielding disposition; there was simply no one capable of controlling this individual.
And now, he was being instructed to inform Ye Mingtian, with the message being, potentially, "Your son possesses an Immortal Treasure, and our Xuan Sect desires to requisition it."
One did not need a superior intellect, merely common sense, to deduce that such an attempt was doomed to fail!
Yet, this was the explicit command of Ancestor Cang.
Yan Jingyun’s countenance shifted; after a profound sigh, he offered a respectful salute, proclaiming: "Yan Jingyun obeys your command."
Bracing himself for the encounter, Yan Jingyun set off to locate Ye Mingtian, intercepting the trio.
"Is there something you require?"
Upon beholding the Supreme Sect Leader of the Xuan Sect standing before him, Ye Mingtian raised an eyebrow, displaying no sign of reverence, and casually inquired.
Yan Jingyun, long accustomed to such displays, let out a dry chuckle, responding: "Little Tian..."
Ye Mingtian’s gaze flickered towards Yan Jingyun with a languid air, cutting him off: "Little Tian is what you call me?"
Yan Jingyun’s lips twitched involuntarily.
However, Ye Xuan, witnessing his father’s demeanor, felt an urge to laugh.
It seemed utterly unexpected, yet his father's standing within the Xuan Sect was remarkably high; he evidently held even the Supreme Sect Leader of the Xuan Sect in little regard.
"Well now, Mingtian, this elder has certain matters he wishes to discuss, please come along."
Yan Jingyun strained to articulate his words.
Ye Mingtian simply rolled his eyes: "Just say it plainly, don’t try to be clever with me."
Yan Jingyun could only resort to conveying his intentions to Ye Mingtian through a meaningful glance.
Ye Mingtian feigned ignorance, casually remarking, "If there's nothing else, kindly don't obstruct my path; I still need to escort my son to the sacred grounds of millennium!"
Yan Jingyun's countenance shifted to one of grave seriousness, inquiring, "You intend to take him to the land of millennia!?"
"Ye Mingtian!"
"The millennium land is of profound importance to the Xuan Sect; not even individuals within the inner circles, without the Ancestor's explicit consent, are permitted entry. What right do you possess to allow outsiders access!?"
"Is it simply because he is Ye Mingtian's son!?"
"Do not forget, this elder holds the esteemed position of Supreme Sect Leader of the Xuan Sect!"
In this moment, Yan Jingyun displayed a rare surge of anger directed at Ye Mingtian.
Ye Mingtian nonchalantly picked at his ear, dismissively stating, "Have you finished speaking? If so, kindly remove yourself."
"You?!"
Yan Jingyun shot him a furious glare.
"What is this 'you' you're directing at me? You are no match for me. Any grievances, send forth those ancient figures from Hundred Coffin Cliff to air them to my face."
With an impatient flick of his hand, Ye Mingtian shoved Yan Jingyun aside.
Yan Jingyun, the very Supreme Sect Leader of the Xuan Sect, was unexpectedly unable to withstand the force, finding himself unceremoniously pushed away.
However, this act sent Yan Jingyun into a state of complete fury: "Ye Mingtian! This is Ancestor Cang's decree!"
"You dare defy their command?!"
Ye Mingtian abruptly halted his movement, his casual demeanor replaced by an icy coldness. With a chilling tone, he declared, "If that is the case, I shall personally pay a visit to Hundred Coffin Cliff."
Yan Jingyun was taken aback, sternly cautioning, "Ye Mingtian, do not act rashly!"
Ye Mingtian calmly responded, "But after all, it was you who instigated this."
Yan Jingyun thundered in indignation, "Ye Mingtian, this constitutes rebellion! Betrayal of the Sect and our Ancestor!"
Ye Mingtian turned his gaze upon Yan Jingyun, a cold grin suddenly appearing on his face, his eyes piercing like blades. "Then let it be rebellion. Regardless, I hold no favorable opinion of the Xuan Sect."
At that instant, Yan Jingyun experienced a tremor that shook him to his very soul.
What realm has this man attained? Why does he exude such terrifying pressure!?
"Father, let us go together."
At this juncture, Ye Xuan offered a gentle smile, speaking softly.
Ye Mingtian waved dismissively, chuckling, "Rest assured, this minor affair is something your father will handle solo."
Ye Xuan shook his head, stating, "It would be best to settle this once and for all."
"Furthermore, ultimately, their sole desire is the Immortal Treasure."
"The Immortal Treasure resides with me; I shall confront them. We shall see if they dare."
