Saint did as she was told and swallowed the blood essence.
The moment the Star Monarch’s blood entered her system, her body trembled. This made King Arshan clench his fist, afraid that something bad would happen to his daughter.
However, his worries vanished the next second when a wave of darkness started to pour out of her body. The darkness was, from the start, thick and filled with danger, so much so that by the time anyone could make sense of it, Saint and Kaden were covered in it.
The moment they were covered, everyone lost sight of them.
King Arshan narrowed his eyes but said nothing. He could tell that King Xzeth and everyone Kaden came with didn’t seem afraid, meaning they had witnessed something familiar, so much so that they knew it was a natural occurrence.
So he allowed his mind to rest and continued to watch.
Hours soon passed, and within those hours, the darkness that was coming out of Saint’s body only seemed to grow denser.
However, 4 hours after the process began, those who had awakened their Dao sensed a Dao resonance coming from the darkness that had now covered a 3km radius.
The moment the Dao essence emerged from the darkness, a wave of terrifying, pitch-black power exploded, sending a shockwave through everything.
The four overlords frowned.
A few seconds later, their frowns deepened when a second shockwave exploded out. Just then, they felt their own Dao tremble, which could only mean one thing.
The Dao being awakened by Saint is of a higher grade than their own.
’She is awakening an Eternal Grade Dao,’ King Xzeth said inwardly, his expression showing shock.
Aside from him, only his daughter Namariona and his wife, Queen Harxix, had awakened Eternal Grade Dao, so he was stunned when he sensed that Saint was awakening to such a grade as well.
It didn’t take long for everyone to sense that the Dao awakened by Saint isn’t one to be underestimated. The moment they all felt that, many had made up their minds to take Kaden up on his offer, even if it meant offending their overlords.
5 hours into the awakening, the darkness receded, then formed into a large, dark figure. She appeared behind Saint, wielding two daggers, her face covered by a large mask.
The moment she appeared, all who looked into her eyes felt like their souls were being corrupted by darkness. The feeling was so dangerous that they immediately turned their heads away.
As her Dao manifested, Kaden received a message indicating the percentage she had awakened. The base percentage for all who took him up on his offer is 15%. However, since he has manifested his own Dao to 25%, if one’s trust in him is much higher, one can surpass 15%.
When he saw that Saint’s Dao manifestation is 25%, Kaden was taken aback.
It had been years since he last saw her, and considering that when they last met, her father was kneeling, Asura’s sword pressed against his neck, Kaden never expected her to still have him in her heart.
But it turned out she didn’t blame him, and on top of that, the same trust she had for him remained.
This surprisingly made Kaden emotional.
To him, as a Paragon, everyone was supposed to hate him. So if someone turns out to hold him in high regard and trust him enough to willingly face danger for him, he sees it as the best gift ever.
Kaden lifts his head and locks eyes with Saint, who has a smile on her face.
"Godfather, I feel like I can kill even Primordials now," she said, spinning a dagger between her fingers.
"Congratulations, Saint. You are now a wielder of your own Dao. For now, it is only 25% manifestation, but as time goes by, it will increase."
"Okay, Godfather."
Saint turns and looks at the four overlords. "As you can see, my godfather isn’t one to lie about things like this. He has proven himself. Now, it is up to you to take a step or forever remain mediocre."
With a smirk, Saint teleported and appeared beside her father, who felt like a bug before Saint. King Arshan is a Primordial, but he felt like he wouldn’t last a single move against Saint.
"Dad, you have to take Godfather up on his offer. He can help you become stronger and protect our people more," Saint said, but King Arshan just smiled.
He knew things couldn’t be that simple. After all, Kaden is someone who hates him due to betrayals of the past, so because of that, he can choose not to help them.
And why would he? For someone who can easily turn back and betray him, why help him become stronger? It is like creating a weapon to be used to kill him.
Unfortunately for King Arshan, Kaden has much bigger fish to fry than focusing on petty conflicts. To Kaden, the abyss is more dangerous than making King Arshan stronger.
"The offer stands: gather 1000 warriors each from your respective kingdoms and bring them here in five days. I will awaken and manifest their Dao. Then, when the danger comes, I will leave you all in charge to handle them."
Hearing his words, King Arshan knew he wasn’t excluded. He immediately turned to the ten warriors standing behind him. "Go back to the City and bring the Ten Banner City Guards. Use the teleporter to hasten your pace."
They nodded and left. While the four overlords are stronger, Kaden seems to hold all the power here, and since he still has a soft spot for Saint, King Arshan knew that even if he went against the four of them, they could do nothing to him.
And he wasn’t the only one who came to this conclusion. Many others began sending their warriors to bring forth their best so Kaden could awaken their Dao and manifest it. This way, when danger comes, they can better protect themselves and their benefactor.
In no time, only the four overlords remained. But even they had their breaking point, so they made their move, and soon all 12 domains and 4 cities sent someone to bring the 1000 warriors to the Elemental Tower.
