The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse Chapter 1666: Star Light Awakening (1)
Previously on The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse...
Klaus and the two amazing women arrived in the flame garden, where any flame cultivator would drool if they were to find themselves there.
Klaus was a bit stunned, but with what he had achieved in the path of flame cultivation, he didn’t think much of it. His four forbidden flame elements are beyond what this garden could offer.
But Klaus was surprised when he sensed Ember’s flame element had already reached the Extreme stage and had formed a flame spirit.
Because of how deep his understanding of flame was, he could sense everything about her flame. So he knew she wasn’t as simple as she seemed.
Klaus even wondered if she had already made provisions to further improve her affinity level by comprehending the Ultimate stage.
As for the evolution from the flame spirit stage to the Primordial stage, he decided to hold back for now. His flame spirits had already given him a method that would help others achieve the Primordial evolution.
It’s just that the materials required for such an evolution are rather rare, so he cannot give just about anyone false hope, not by a long shot.
They settled into the flame garden and started chatting.
Ember, of course, had a lot of questions, so without wasting time, she went right into them, making sure she understood what had happened in the past and what was happening now that he had returned.
Klaus answered her questions one by one. When she was done, Klaus told her about the dangers ahead and his desire to work with her to protect the universe and its inhabitants.
"Void Race, Foreign Race, and an even more dangerous opponent, huh. It appears we all were in the dark, and the Celestial Supreme had kept us there for years," Ember sighed, a pale smile appearing on her face.
"I wonder what would have happened, if you hadn’t exposed him for all to see how rotten he was,"
Klaus had just told her about the Void Beasts, who would soon be coming after the universe and everyone in it, and also the Foreign Race, who would possibly launch a more aggressive push.
She had already been to the Ancient Battlefield and knew just how daunting that place was. Knowing that the Foreign Race would soon attack more aggressively, she realised how serious things had become.
But the shocking part was the unknown force approaching, one that even Klaus didn’t know how vast their forces were.
She allowed herself to calm down, then she said:
"I am one of 13 powerhouses who came together to form the Warrior Tower. This means I have my separate faction in the organisation who would follow me into combat, so I can assure you, I will follow you, and they will too.
I can’t speak for everyone, but the Genesis Warriors will fly under your banner whenever you need us. That said, are you willing to marry any of my daughters? I won’t mind if you marry all three of them..."
"Mom," Nyrela blushed, hiding her face.
Klaus laughed and said, "How about I take all four of you? And rest assured, I have enough stamina to satisfy you all."
This time, even Ember blushed, her heart skipping a beat. She could sense the sarcasm in Klaus’s words, but she didn’t mind becoming his woman at all.
Klaus just laughed and said,
"Relax your nerves, Ember. You are a big girl, so there’s no need to stress too much. If it is meant to be, it surely will come to pass. That said, I am here for Nyrela. She is someone very important to me, you see, very, very important."
"Oh, sounds like my little flame pup has caught the attention of the mighty Paragon. How exciting," Ember teased, poking Nyrela’s red cheeks as extreme joy spread across her face.
Klaus, who was now seeing this jovial side of Ember, couldn’t help but shake his head. It appeared she was nothing like her parents, who played a key role in his being late to the battle that claimed the lives of half his Beast Legion.
While they couldn’t kill him, they sure delayed him considerably, leading Klaus to become extremely mad at them. However, if he were to kill everyone who had offended him, then half of the universe’s powerhouses would die.
Even so, he would ask for compensation when he met them.
"How am I important to you? We have just met," Nyrela asked, but Klaus just smirked and flicked his hand, sending a beam of light into her forehead.
The light contained memories of her life during the Blood Era.
She was the sister of one of the Blood Generals who served under the Asura God. Back then, she would always follow her brother to the battlefield just to see one person fight... that person, of course, was the Paragon.
Safe to say she admired Asura to the point that she started training just so one day she could fight on the same battlefield as him.
Unbeknownst to her, Asura had also noticed her, and for reasons he could not explain, he knew she was extremely important to him. So he kept a close eye on her.
Unfortunately for her, when she had just started to make headway in her training, her nature as a Starlight was exposed, and the Heavens attacked and killed her.
She was one of the first to die, a death that pained Asura to the point that he recalled all his warriors, leading to the Chaos Beast devouring hundreds of worlds.
Instead of the Heavens Court realising their mistake, they used that incident to rally allies, leading to the infamous Blood War, a war that has no equal to this very day.
Today, he had reunited with her.
Nyrela remained quiet for a few minutes, tears rolling down her face as the memories she had been missing finally returned to her.
She raised her head and looked at Klaus, whom she remembered in her last moment had been locked in a high-fierce clash with the Dark Order, a secret army the Celestial Supreme had cultivated over countless eras.
She saw how desperately he fought and how close he came to saving her. But the Heavens were always a step ahead, leading to her death, which she knew had very dire consequences for everyone.
"I am sorry, my Lord. I shouldn’t have left Blood City that day," Nyrela said, tears rolling down her face.
Klaus pulled her into his arms and ruffled her hair. "No need to apologise, Nyrela. I should be the one apologising for failing to save you back then. I am sorry, Nyrela. When you needed me, I failed to come through for you."
He hugged her tightly, causing Ember to stare at them with varied expressions. She could tell what had happened, but instead of asking for context, her mind was elsewhere.
’How envious. I wish I were also someone from his past life who had reincarnated. Maybe I would also get such a sweet hug,’ she smiled and decided to be happy for her daughter, who she now knew was an Asura.
’No wonder she gets excited around blood. Turns out she has it in her.’
The signs were there, but her mind didn’t go there at all. Now, she had finally discovered what had remained plain before her all along.
’I wonder if she will become an Asura now that she has reunited with the Paragon,’ the thought made her giddy.
