The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse Chapter 1640: Back Off

~5 minute read · 1,252 words

The moment Rhazor appeared on the moon, he sensed thousands of gazes land on him.

"Hmmm, it appears they came in their numbers."

He lifted his head and stared back at some of the people he deemed a threat. Unfortunately for him, the first person he locked eyes with was someone who had just arrived, and he was there under the authority of the Celestial Supreme and Axarax.

"Are you the one who took the Flame Dao Crystal?" the man asked, his tone calm, but it was clear he wasn’t friendly. His tone may have been calm, but the authority hidden within it was full of dark intent.

"That would be me," Rhazor responded. Then he asked, "How can I help you, Senior?"

"Surrender the Flame Dao Crystal, and I might just allow you to leave this place. Resist, and I will make sure this is where it ends for you."

Rhazor narrowed his eyes at the man, then a smile formed on his face.

"Let me guess, you came at the command of the Celestial Supreme and Axarax, huh?" Rhazor laughed and flicked his hair to the side. "Too bad for you, I guess. You have just wasted your time coming here for nothing. I have already absorbed the Flame Dao Crystal"

Everyone gathered shifted their gaze to the man, who now wore a frown. He clearly never expected his identity to be exposed so easily.

However, before he could make a sound, another voice came from the side, and everyone around widened their eyes when they heard it and saw who it was.

"Looks like teaching you guys a lesson on how to live a righteous life fell on deaf ears, huh?" Klaus, who had just arrived, spoke while seated on the Blood Throne, and this time, everyone recognized him as the Paragon.

The man who had confronted Rhazor shifted his attention to Klaus, and for a moment, his killing intent flowed out. His fists clenched, and his teeth gritted.

"PARAGON!" he exclaimed, locking eyes with Klaus, who remained seated on his throne, Ignitia and Aleera standing on his right, while Asmodeus stood on his left.

Since he had revealed himself to the rest of the universe, he might as well embrace the identity of the Paragon for all to see.

"What, are you telling me that after everything the Celestial Supreme has done, a bona fide Pseudo-Primordial such as yourself still takes orders from them? Are you perhaps an idiot, or do you just not have the spine to say no?"

Rhazor laughed from the side and said, "Maybe he’s a son of a bitch who likes to lick others’ asses rather than clean his own. I can just picture him kowtowing to the Celestial Supreme every morning, begging to be slapped so his brain can flip upside down."

"Hahahahaha!" Klaus exploded into a resounding laugh, one that made many wonder just where this mockery was coming from.

Many recognized the man and knew he was the Vice Captain of the 12th Heaven’s Army. He was a legendary figure and a mighty warrior who had dominated countless battlefields, earning the respect of countless cultivators.

So, for him to be ridiculed this way, it seemed a bit too shameless and disrespectful, even if the Paragon hated the Heaven’s Court... that is.

"Makes me wonder where you’re getting your confidence from, brat." Suddenly, another voice spoke, and this time, it came from a Primordial, directing his words at Rhazor instead of Klaus.

He appeared to be in his late fifties, with tan skin and a neatly trimmed white goatee.

"And who might this Senior be?" Rhazor asked, already aware that he was a Primordial. Uncle Monk had already informed him the moment he appeared, so he knew who he could offend and who he had to treat with respect.

This man was one of the few he could not afford to offend.

"I go by many names, but these days I go by Stark, just a lonely wanderer."

’Lonely wanderer my foot,’ Rhazor thought inwardly, already aware that the man before him used to be one of the deadliest swordsmen in the universe.

He had already left his mark on countless battlefields, and his title as the Seven-Star Reincarnation Swordsman had long been recorded in the history books.

So calling himself a lonely wanderer clearly was a bit of a stretch.

"This Senior asks where I am getting my confidence from." Rhazor smiled and flicked his hand, summoning his bow. The moment it appeared, many immediately felt their lives threatened.

Rhazor looked at the Pseudo-Primordial from the Heaven’s Court and added, "I’ve recently attained godhood, and with it I gained some pretty cool abilities, one of them being my own True Dao."

The bow enlarged, and at once, a three-meter-long arrow materialized upon its string. Rhazor drew the bow and aimed it directly at the man from Heaven’s Court, instantly causing his face to turn pale.

"This arrow cannot kill you. Shit, it cannot even kill a Celestial. However, it would injure your Dao Heart so severely that even a million years would be too short for it to recover."

The man trembled as though he were standing beneath the gaze of death itself, causing the likes of the Burning Angel, the Genesis Flame Queen, and several others to narrow their eyes at Rhazor.

"So it was you," Uncle Monk suddenly said. "You were the one who awakened the Dao."

Rhazor turned away from the Pseudo-Primordial and looked at Uncle Monk. "That is correct, Senior. I have awakened my own Dao, and that alone should be more than enough for you to believe me when I say I can injure his Dao."

Uncle Monk smiled faintly and nodded. Then he turned to the Pseudo-Primordial.

"It would be in your best interest to back off. This young man possesses something many of us do not—his own Dao. So unless you want to waste your Dao Essence for nothing, leave and try your luck another day."

"Oh, that’s rather rich coming from you, Monk. But tell me this—even if he can injure this loser, what about me?"

This time, the person who spoke wore a mask, but he was undoubtedly a Primordial, one of the four who had come to investigate the sudden energy shockwave that had swept across the entire universe.

He released a fraction of his aura, and at once, the arrow that had formed on the bowstring dispersed into countless motes of light, causing Rhazor to narrow his eyes at the masked man.

"What? Do you think you can take me on?"

Rhazor stared at the man for a few seconds before a smile slowly spread across his face.

"I cannot take you on, but I know someone who can."

Rhazor turned to the side and snapped his fingers, opening four spatial portals. From within them, four stunning young adults stepped out, each radiating an aura so powerful it shook the surrounding space.

These four were Rhazor’s Flame Spirits, who, after absorbing the Flame Dao Crystal, had evolved into Primordial Flame Spirits.

"Big Brother, who do you want us to beat up?" Void asked, her body already radiating the terrifying aura.

The expressions of everyone gathered instantly became solemn. Even the Primordials couldn’t help but narrow their eyes as they sensed the terrifying pressure emanating from the four Flame Spirits.
