As Jian Anning and Yu Zexiao prepare for their wedding photoshoot, a large crowd gathers, drawn by their celebrity status. Yu Zexiao easily manages the onlookers, and he and Jian Anning share affectionate banter about her recent pregnancy scare. They pose for photos, their natural beauty impressing the onlookers, and a sweet moment where Yu Zexiao catches Jian Anning when she stumbles is perfectly captured by the photographer. Their photoshoot is interrupted by sudden chaos erupting from outside.

The moment Yu Zexiao and his companions emerged, they were met by a throng—not of casual observers, but a veritable invasion of journalists!

Indeed, a swarm of media personnel, armed with microphones and cameras, converged upon the scene. With the security detail occupied in a small room, the lobby had been left unattended, allowing the journalists to swiftly secure their positions.

A frown creased Yu Zexiao's brow. While he had planned to openly register his marriage with Jian Anning, opting for a ceremony that didn't involve clandestine trips to places like Las Vegas, he hadn't anticipated such an immediate media frenzy. The issue wasn't his lack of concern about the news spreading, but rather his unpreparedness to confront the press so abruptly!

Perhaps due to the cramped conditions of the adjacent small room, the journalists overlooked him entirely, their lenses instead focusing intently on the entrance.

Before he could even process the situation, a couple materialized at the doorway.

The man was portly, clad in impeccably tailored attire, appearing to be in his late fifties or early sixties—the picture of a prosperous gentleman. The woman, though gaunt, was adorned in opulent clothing. Ah, an acquaintance—could it be Jiang Xuanqi?

He recalled Jiang Xuanqi's extravagant wedding a few years prior, her subsequent withdrawal from the entertainment industry after marrying a wealthy older man. But had it truly been only a few years?

Given she was already married, another wedding seemed unlikely; she must be here for a divorce. Whispers had circulated about her in-laws' dissatisfaction with her, leading to constant disputes. Recently, rumors even suggested she intended to re-enter show business. Who would have thought she'd actually be going through with a divorce!

As anticipated, the journalists surged towards her. She and her husband exchanged few words before being enveloped by the media pack, proceeding to the counter to present their documents. Their divorce could have been a private affair, but Jiang Xuanqi had long harbored ambitions of leveraging this event for publicity, aiming to stage a comeback in the entertainment circle. This divorce interview had been meticulously arranged by her.

Her husband, visibly displeased, especially as reporters thrust microphones towards him, did not easily yield. Being a man of means, he was not one to be trifled with. His security detail swiftly intervened, clearing the journalists away.

Unable to secure an interview with the husband, the media turned their attention back to Jiang Xuanqi. Amidst the cacophony, she displayed no outward distress. Instead, as the cameras focused on her, she lowered her head slightly, a single tear tracing a path down her cheek, projecting an image of profound emotion and helpless resignation.

Her display undoubtedly elicited sympathetic sighs from the onlookers present.

What use is beauty? What is fame worth? Even marrying into wealth doesn't guarantee one won't be cast aside. Not everyone is blessed with the good fortune of Jian Anning.

Observing the scene with a cool detachment from the sidelines, Yu Zexiao murmured, "Who says she lacks acting skills? Isn't this performance impressive?"

His voice, though not loud, was lost in the surrounding commotion, unheard by the external press. Only Jian Anning, nestled beside him, caught his words, responding with a gentle smile and a firmer clasp of his hand.

Meanwhile, Jiang Xuanqi's husband—or rather, her ex-husband now—clearly detested the unfolding spectacle. He directed his assistant to clear a path, approached the counter, signed the papers without a word, and turned to leave immediately. Jiang Xuanqi, unable to utter any harsh retorts, could only softly lament, "We were destined to meet, but not fated to be together."

With that, she offered no further commentary, departing the lobby with the assistance of friends and family.

Unaware of Yu Zexiao's presence, the journalists remained fixated on Jiang Xuanqi, escorting her out of the lobby.
