The King’s Enchanting Chapter 1749 - 1763: The Wedding (2)
Previously on The King’s Enchanting...
A sudden influx of people filled the small photography studio, many craning their necks for a glimpse. Despite the presence of security guards, they were merely young men, struggling to manage the throng and even attempting to squeeze through for a peek themselves.
Yu Zexiao let out a soft chuckle, his demeanor gentle. "Thank you all for your concern. May we please proceed with the photos?"
"Hey, hey, hey!" The crowd, previously packed tightly, instantly retreated. A few dedicated female fans even stepped forward to assist with crowd control upon seeing the situation.
"Not bad!" Jian Anning was well aware of Yu Zexiao's considerable popularity, but witnessing him quell the crowd with a mere sentence left her quite impressed.
"Of course, I'm your husband!" Yu Zexiao took her hand and guided her towards the designated area. Jian Anning laughed in response, "We haven't signed the papers yet, so I can still change my mind, right?"
"Just now, who was it that looked 'utterly heartbroken'? Feeling happier now?" Yu Zexiao playfully inquired later, recalling her mistaken belief that she was terminally ill, finding the whole situation amusing.
"How was I supposed to know! No one informed me I was pregnant; I just assumed..." At the time, she had been unconscious and hadn't heard anything. Even when given a blood test, she had only managed a slight frown, mistaking it for a simple injection.
The couple exchanged quiet words as they took their seats at the center of the venue without further delay. The photographer, quite excited, marveled at the prospect of shooting celebrities for the first time after countless wedding photos.
"L-look here, both of you, smile."
There was no need to comment on Yu Zexiao's boundless handsomeness. As for Jian Anning, with minimal makeup, her features appeared exquisitely elegant, exuding a regal and graceful aura.
A woman among the younger couples remarked, "Such natural beauty, so handsome!"
Her husband, standing beside her, added, "His girlfriend is lovely too! It's hard to tell fully on camera usually, but her natural appearance rivals those actresses! Honestly, I used to think his girlfriend wasn't quite a match for him, but seeing her natural face – she truly outshines many stars!"
His wife replied, "Naturally, otherwise why would our Zexiao be interested in her?"
The husband bristled, "Your Zexiao? Where do I fit in then?"
The wife retorted, "What, if Yu Zexiao wanted to marry me, who would even pay attention to you!"
"What, you don't want to get married? Well, I don't want to marry you either! Just look at your attitude!"
"Alright, alright..."
A nearby young couple began to bicker, but it didn't remotely affect Jian Anning and Yu Zexiao in the center. The two maintained their smiles as they posed for a wedding photo. As they stood up, Jian Anning, not noticing the numerous wires on the floor, stumbled and nearly fell!
"Careful!" Yu Zexiao instinctively reached out, his arm catching her waist and drawing her close in a movement akin to a dance, holding her firmly.
The onlookers, who hadn't even had time to gasp, witnessed this heroic save. Not a single superfluous word was uttered; it was evident to all that the couple in the photograph had eyes only for each other.
At that precise moment, the photographer captured the scene with a click of the shutter, the image perfectly preserved. It appeared instantaneously on the computer screen and was almost immediately presented to the couple. Yu Zexiao picked up the photo, a smile gracing his lips, "A splendid shot! Thank you!"
"You're most welcome."
As they spoke, sudden commotion erupted from outside!
