Hailey searches for Apollo after he left with Praetorian Thespius, first contacting Valerica who is dealing with an assassin, then questioning a Praetorian who directs her to Nerissa and Rhapso. The Praetorians speculate that Apollo might be with Queen Elaine, which causes Hailey concern. They find Elaine’s room, and after some initial deception, Elaine admits Apollo is inside with her, surrounded by drugs and baked goods. Apollo, visibly high, invites them to join.
