The Gordon clan revealed its strength to its allied clans and the Royal Knight Captain. George, the Gordon Patriarch, engaged the captain in a battle after the captain ordered an attack on the clan. Meanwhile, Alec, unable to contain his breakthrough any longer, commanded the City Heart to cast a defensive barrier around the palace before losing consciousness. Connor took command of the defenses, positioning his barbarian warriors and assigning Leon to safeguard the city.

While unconscious, Alec had been pulled directly into his spiritual domain, on one side stood a dual-colored heart of red and black flames, beating in steady unison, and on the opposite side, was an earth mountain surrounded by levitating rock debris, seemingly governed by a surrounding purple aura.

“So it’s finally time,” Alec murmured under his breath as he felt his cultivation runes begin to assemble, a convergence that had not occurred in a very long time.

Every rune corresponded to an upgrade of his innate spells across realms, as they had been advancing in complexity alongside his cultivation level even when he barely used them.

At his current particular stage, attaining a high-rank rune required him to consolidate all of this innate knowledge of his and manually merge the individual runes himself, as this was the sole method to elevate his innate spell to a high rank.

Although a mage’s innate spell rank naturally progresses alongside them, however it must also undergo a fundamental quantitative transformation during the different stages with the high rank realm being one of those stages.

Consequently, Alec needed to integrate every foundation and concept he had acquired.

Before Alec could begin fusing his innate Tier 1 through Tier 6 spells together, a sudden bolt of lightning descended from the heavens in the material world.

It pierced straight through his prepared energy dome like it was not even existing there and struck his body and threw him into violent convulsions.

The impact violently yanked his consciousness out of his spiritual realm and back into his physical vessel. Even so, Alec was able to maintain a fragile tether of focus within his spiritual world, ensuring his grip on the runes remained firm or he would suffer a backlash.

“So this is the heavenly tribulation?” Alec bellowed, thrusting his right hand toward the sky to absorb the remaining lightning directly into his body. “If you think this will break me, think again—I am breaking through today, whether you like it or not!”

As he siphoned the strike, an immense surge of pure, concentrated mana flooded into his spiritual domain, the first influx of energy rushed immediately toward his two elemental galaxies at the center of his inner world: the beating heart of flames and the unyielding mountain of earth.

[? Ding! ?]

[Threshold Reached: Flames Control Law threshold exceeded. Constructing personal domain, driven primarily by Fire Affinity.]

“Isn’t a domain something only Tier 8 mages can awaken? I suppose it’s not strictly tied to the realm then, but rather mastery. If I elevate my earth elemental control to the fourth stage as well, will it manifest a separate earth domain, or simply fuse with this one?” Alec mused aloud, reviewing the system notifications floating before him.

Hovering mid-air in a cross-legged meditative posture, he looked down to see a gentle ring of flames fanning outward with him at its center.

The swirling fire presented a dual nature: vibrant amber intertwined with deep crimson on one side, and dark, ash-choked black flames on the other.

Beneath it all, Alec felt an extraordinary surge in his elemental mastery—an unprecedented level of authority over the fire element.

His affinity and resistance had reached such heights that he doubted even twenty percent of the fire damage from a mage lacking equivalent or superior control than him could affect him.

An immense surge of power coursed through him, with his mastery over the earth element growing alongside it.

Yet, while Alec remained focused on assessing these newly acquired strength gains, two distinct anomalies were silently unfolding within him unnoticed.

First, a portion of the energy that had invaded his spiritual domain split into two distinct currents, with one branch immediately flowed into his Devourer Bloodline to nourish it,

While the second stream plunged far beyond the depths of his spiritual space, seeking out something hidden deep within, after searching for a brief moment, it reached its destination and forcefully began dragging back a dormant bolt of lightning back towards Alec’s spiritual space.

Even before that lightning bolt fully re-entered his inner world, the storm clouds gathered directly above Alec’s domain began to react, what had previously spanned a mere hundred meters suddenly swelled outward, rapidly expanding to cover a massive five hundred meters.

It was as though the heavenly tribulation itself were answering Alec’s defiance, refusing to be challenged, the electric energy brewing within the swirling vortex grew violent, coalescing into a force five times more devastating than the initial strike that Alec had just resisted.

“What an intense heavenly tribulation! It looks like that new lord at the edge of the wilderness region is already ascending to the High ranks, I need to report this to the chat group quickly before anyone else beats me to it.” remarked a nearby city lord, eager to share the revelation.

Even without his report, news of the event was bound to spread rapidly, because from the moment the heavenly tribulation clouds expanded to cover five hundred meters, the unmistakable signs of a breakthrough became clearly visible across at least ten surrounding regions.

Though distant onlookers were spared from the crushing weight of the tribulation’s pressure, the sheer scale and intensity of the celestial punishment led them to a shared assumption: that this had to be an exceptionally formidable Tier 7 mage making the leap into the Tier 8 realm.

Not a single soul entertained the thought that such a massive breakthrough was being triggered by a mere Tier 6 mage.
