The Royal Knights arrive and accuse the Gordons' clan of treason, ordering their execution. While George and his elders prepare for the worst, George reveals hidden mages, including allies from the Dark Guild led by Ivan. The conflict escalates as George questions the Royal Clan's motives, learning their actions are a response to his grandson Alec's actions. As the Gordons' clan rallies its forces, it's revealed they possess the strength of a high-rank clan, surprising their attackers and leading to a tense standoff.

The arrivals from the south were Bailey Lanzt and his son, the current Patriarch of the Lanzt clan. From the north came Orion alongside his brother, who serves as the Patriarch of the Aegisborn clan.

Representing the west were representatives of the Darkbliss clan and an independent shadow elemental mage who had sought refuge in Estonia City.

When those unwilling to adapt to the Gordon clan’s new leadership left the city, these three clans and the lone faction remained, offering their staunch support instead, though even the Coral clan also stayed behind; although loyal, they were a weaker faction since they had yet to produce a high-rank mage.

A few months prior, the Grand Elder had approached these clans to ask if they would serve as enforcer clans under the Gordon clan.

He initiated this proposal out of a firm belief that a fully united city would stand a far better chance of surviving the Blood Moon War, he never would have expected that he would be using them like this.

“George, we must offer a tangible incentive to those who have submitted to us, as we cannot simply assume they would give their undying loyalty through thick and thin without providing any real benefit,” the Grand Elder reasoned back then.

To demonstrate goodwill toward the clans that bound themselves by contract, he advised the Patriarch to grant them a small share of the high-rank cultivation pills Alec had left behind as gifts.

However the Grand elder harbored little fear that these subordinate enforcer clans and factions would grow too powerful and turn against the Gordon clan.

His confidence stemmed from the fact that the Gordon clan had secretly bolstered its own power, quietly nurturing a new generation of high-rank mages.

For talented mages and those standing at the peak of Tier 6 in the Gordons clan, advancing to the high-rank realm posed little difficulty, because beyond receiving cultivation pills, they were also provided with mental pills when they reached the stage they can start attempting the breakthrough, which significantly elevates their mental fortitude if they had not yet met the required threshold.

Once their mentality and mana had reached the required threshold, they could take the next step toward breaking through, also with the increased number of high-rank mages in the clan, the Gordon clan was able to shield the aura of those attempting a breakthrough perfectly unlike the past, allowing them to quietly cultivate an unprecedented number of high-rank mages over a long period.

In fact, this was the first time all of them unleashed their aura simultaneously, even those who had recently joined the Gordon clan as enforcers were stunned to discover the true extent of the clan’s power.

For the newly advanced mages—including Zack, the eighth elder, and the fifth elder, all of whom had been instructed to remain hidden in their rooms to conceal their true strength, this presented an ideal opportunity for them.

As they had long awaited a chance to unleash their full power and finally experience the reality of fighting as high-rank mages.

“Hmm, it appears you have harbored thoughts of rebelling against the kingdom for quite some time. Fortunately, we moved against you early. Otherwise, you might have grown into a force the Royal clan could no longer control.” Even with their forces down by one man in this standoff, the Royal Knight Captain showed no signs of fear.

Instead, he continued attempting to justify their attack on the Gordons clan like they were in the wrong for progressing.

“Oh, give it a rest already. Aren’t you tired of wearing that mask? Let’s just fight,” replied the Gordon Patriarch, as a sheathed black katana materialized in his left hand.

He was well aware of the Royal Knights’ arrogance and their conviction that they were unmatched across the lands.

George understood that this arrogance was the sole reason why the knight commander remained unfazed even when they had one more member.

However, he also knew Ivan’s nature—if Ivan felt they lacked the advantage, he wouldn’t fight to the end like the Royal knights; he would flee, as he always did, something clearly the Royal Knight captain before him was unaware off, however, George was determined not to give Ivan that chance, the Patriarch unleashed his aura, going all out right from the start.

The sudden release of his low Tier 8 aura sent a surge of shock through the Royal Knight Captain, whose scowl was obvious even beneath his helmet.

“Attack!” the captain ordered, refusing to waste another second, though he had previously dismissed this mission as beneath his standing, yet he was now more than convinced that this clan posed a fatal threat—a blade that is capable of piercing the heart of the Northern Kingdom royal family if left unchecked.

So he fully embraced his directives which is: The eradication every single member of the clan, leaving no survivors behind.

Meanwhile, upon reaching his throne room, Alec was stunned to find that the breakthrough he had painstakingly held back could no longer be contained.

He could have advanced long ago to the tier 7 realm if he wanted too with just pills, but he had hesitated, feeling his progression through the mid-rank stages had been unnaturally swift, even far faster than his progress during the low-rank stages of cultivation, and he doubted his foundation would be solid if he continued that way.

So he had been doing everything in his power to hold back until he reached a natural breakthrough, and in his present state, Alec resembled a full water tank that continued to have water pumped into it, bringing the small vessel to the verge of bursting.

His body acted as the tank, while the incoming water was his compressed mana and mentality, both demanding a quantitative transformation rather than remaining constrained.

“City Heart, cast a defensive barrier around the palace and cover Titan’s breakthrough as well. Also...” Even through the excruciating pain, Alec strove to issue commands as he felt his awareness slipping away. Before he could finish his orders, his consciousness plunged into darkness.

While the City Heart immediately went into overdrive following the last wishes of its owner, sealing all doors, windows, and entryways leading from the city hall to the main palace. Once secured, a dome-like energy shield enveloped the palace region, creating a barrier robust enough to thwart the probing attempts of even Tier 8 mages.

Quickly grasping the situation, Connor ordered his barbarians warriors to position themselves around the perimeter of the palace barrier, strictly ordering them to prevent any disruption to their king’s breakthrough.

He assumed command near the energy shield itself, entrusting Unbreakable’s unit with clearing and securing the battlefield, while also mounting gate defense and he assigned Leon to safeguard the city in case a riot should begin.

In the absence of the Amazon queen, he had no choice but to rely on these newly summoned heroes to hold the line alongside him.
