The Genius Doctor, My Wife, Is Valiant Chapter 1292 - 1292: Dead For Love

He sprawled across the floor, convulsing wildly. He struggled to utter a word, but only froth bubbled from his mouth—nothing else emerged.
His gaze pleaded desperately, yet El returned merely an icy stare. Those eyes remained frozen solid.
Jinqian noticed deep remorse swirling in Eric’s eyes.
Having endured such terror, if granted another chance, he absolutely would not have sacrificed his own daughter just to gain more details on the experiment.
But what good came from regret now?
Eric kept spasming until his life finally ebbed away.
Du Yanzheng demanded swiftly, “What about my father? Since you already arrived and knew that they were going after my brother, why didn’t you save him?”
El refused to address Du Yanzheng’s pointed question.
Because Du Yanzheng so closely resembled Du Bo, El displayed blatant favoritism toward his two nephews.
He cherished Jiamo deeply, while Du Bo had been his rival in love. Why save such a rival?
As Jinqian mulled this over, the footage sped forward. Du Bo rushed into the room he shared with Jiamo. Spotting her lifeless form on the ground, he clutched his wife and wailed in anguish.
Evidently, beholding his dead wife Jiamo in that instant stripped Du Bo of all will to live.
Zhan Lichuan and Du Yanzheng watched their father embrace their mother’s corpse, weeping uncontrollably.
Zhan Lichuan swallowed heavily, already deducing the tragic fate that claimed his father.
The conclusion matched precisely what Zhan Lichuan anticipated.
Du Bo halted his sobs. He wiped the tears from his eyes and informed El that Du Yanzheng had fled westward with his younger brother. He urged El to keep watch over them and ensure their safe escape. He added that unless the brothers faced peril, El must block their return to the Hess family no matter their future actions.
“Aren’t you going to watch them grow up?”
Du Bo shook his head. His eyes stared vacantly. Though physically sound, they seemed utterly blind.
“I don’t think so. El, thank you for always being there for Jiamo, along with taking care of a useless man like me. With you protecting Xiao Zheng and Xiao Mo, they would definitely end up better than how they would be with me. Jiamo did not get to live a good life while she was with me. Now that she’s there, I’m sure that with her personality, she would be able to live a good life. I’m worried that she may feel lonely and I have to be there for her.”
El fumed, “I am her brother and I have been doing a better job at taking care of her.”
Du Bo smiled faintly instead, “You may be her brother, but I am her husband.”
That one remark silenced El completely.
“I… I will be leaving both the kids to you. They are both wonderful children. Jiamo changed SE2 on Xiao Zheng and modified SE9 on Xiao Mo. None of them will turn out bad. You would only have to make sure that they don’t get harmed by those from the Hess family.”
El snapped in shock and fury, “Are you crazy?! How could you inject such things into your children? Don’t you know that there are major side effects?”
Du Bo chuckled, “Due to how we’ve used their gene as the sample of the whole experiment, the benefit of having their genes modified would surpass the side effects of it. Since both Xiao Zheng and Xiao Mo’s genes are different, there would be all sorts of problems with it. It would be different for the both of them. They would at most have resistance towards certain drugs. Nothing else serious will happen.”
El replied coldly, “Fine! They are your sons, after all, and not mine. Why should I be worried?”
“Thank you, El.”
El maintained his frosty expression and ignored the gratitude.
Then, Du Bo pressed the gun to his temple and fired without a second thought.
At the crack of the gunshot, Jinqian saw Du Yanzheng and Zhan Lichuan both shudder violently.
Though they knew their father’s next move, Jinqian sensed a raw emotional shift as they witnessed him slumped in a pool of blood beside their mother.
The video came to an end.
Unfazed by their inner turmoil, El muttered, “After your father’s death, I went searching for you. I wanted to help you, but your father was the one who said that I should only help you when you were in trouble. They didn’t want the both of you to return to the Hess family.
“I knew what he wanted. The Hess family was a mess, and even if I tried my best to protect you, I would never be able to ensure that the both of you would grow up safely. When the two of you got separated, I could only send my men to protect you from behind.
“Following that, Master Du and the Du family members discovered you and brought you back home. One rose to become Z, ruling the Centrals, while the other took the role of Director of AO2. You've gained the strength to confront the Hess family, and I'm delighted.”
Du Yanzheng and Zhan Lichuan gazed at El, surprised that their uncle knew every detail.
Moreover, their uncle had truly supported them over all these years.
Though he didn't contribute a great deal, he honored their father's final wishes by guaranteeing they matured without incident.
Without his intervention, El's power alone would have led to their deaths several times over.
A unique gleam filled the eyes of both brothers.
“Since the pair of you are growing more powerful and surpassing even me, I have no further role to fulfill. Truth be told, I've accomplished very little for either of you.”
“Don't say such things, Uncle. Thank you for shielding us through our youth,” Zhan Lichuan responded swiftly.
“Thank you, Uncle. We'll always remember your protection over these years.”
With acknowledgment from Zhan Lichuan and Du Yanzheng, a grin spread across El’s face.
“Regarding Eddie, Jiali, and Hawkins, I've already forwarded every bit of their criminal evidence to the police and media outlets. The Hess family, however, has deeply corrupted roots, requiring ages to fully purge and refine the entire lineage.
“Even behind bars now, they can still thrive inside, for the Centrals differ from other nations. Only their complete disappearance or death will grant you lasting peace.”
El went on, “Yet you two are sharp individuals, so I needn't fret over anyone who might threaten or bother you.”
El laid documents upon the table and declared, “These represent the remaining legacy from your mother, her subordinates included. I'm transferring them to Ah Chuan, and you both will divide them between yourselves.”
