The Corruption Dragon God: Lust System Chapter 936 - Patriarch Zhang

In a luxurious office sat a man.
The room was silent. Sunlight streamed in through the open window, illuminating the dark wooden desk.
His appearance closely resembled that of Zhang Fei, but he was much more handsome.
His face was mature and refined, his beard elegant and well-groomed.
His lips were curved into a gentle smile as he read through some important documents, enjoying the birdsong drifting in from outside.
He still didn't know what had happened to Zhang Fei.
He was the Patriarch of the Zhang Family. Zhang Fei, despite being a genius with potential, was still just a young man of the current generation.
Patriarch Zhang was a figure far above him. He had only heard that name a handful of times, in discussions about the allocation of resources for young talents.
And yet, the office door suddenly swung open, slamming against the wall.
The birds outside fell silent at the noise.
An elder rushed in without even waiting for permission, his breath ragged and his voice agitated as he blurted out what had happened to Zhang Fei.
Patriarch Zhang looked up from his documents, furrowing his brow slightly.
At first, he was confused.
Why was he receiving a report about such an insignificant figure?
But as soon as he heard who was involved, he could only sigh, setting the documents down and closing his eyes for a moment.
Zhang Fei had truly put himself in an unpleasant situation.
"Lord Patriarch, we must send someone to demand an explanation! Long Qingyi has no right to interfere in the Zhang Family's affairs and kill one of our geniuses!" the elder who had brought the report declared, his face red with indignation and his hands clenched into fists at his sides.
To his surprise, the only response he received was a low chuckle.
The Patriarch rose calmly from his chair, turning his back on the elder.
On the wall behind him hung three artifacts.
A golden crown, a sword, and a cloak.
The crown glistened in the light streaming through the window, the sword rested in its sheath, and the cloak hung motionless, without a single crease out of place.
All three were primordial-grade artifacts, so valuable that each one, on its own, could buy entire star systems.
"What artifacts are these?" the Patriarch asked, his voice calm, his eyes never leaving the wall.
"Huh?" The elder was confused at first, but answered nonetheless, as if reciting something by heart. "These were the artifacts forged by the founder of our family—the supreme masterpieces of his life—stolen by the Celestial Demon when he murdered our ancestor, and returned by…"
The elder fell silent.
The words died in his throat. The flush of anger slowly drained from his face, and he swallowed hard.
"By Long Qingyi." The Patriarch finished the sentence for him. "The young man robbed the Celestial Demon's vault, saved the Divine Sword Fairy, and returned countless supreme artifacts that had been lost to every orthodox faction."
Then Patriarch Zhang turned his head, gazing firmly at the elder.
There was no anger in that gaze, but its intensity was enough to make the elder lower his head immediately.
"Send someone to see Qingyi, but do not mention Zhang Fei. Thank him for returning our artifacts and reward him appropriately. The Zhang Family is not ungrateful."
Hearing those words, the elder bowed deeply and withdrew the next moment, all his earlier indignation gone.
The door closed slowly behind him, and silence once again filled the office.
The Patriarch could only sigh again, sitting back down in his chair.
He remained silent for a few seconds, his eyes fixed on the documents left forgotten on the table. Then a lazy smile returned to his lips.
"Are you going to assassinate me right away, or are you just going to stare at my beauty, Old Lu?" he asked, his eyes drifting to a dark corner of the office.
From there, a figure in golden armor emerged.
The metal glinted faintly as he stepped out of the shadows, his heavy footsteps making the wooden floor creak softly beneath him.
He was a middle-aged man with a stern, weathered face, handsome and clean-shaven.
This was Old Lu, or Lu the Demon Butcher, as he had come to be known during the last conflict between the orthodox and demonic forces.
The current leader of Tianjin's Golden Guard and a fearsome figure.
In terms of power, he was second only to the leaders of the Nine Great Sects and some of the most powerful elders of the Celestial Orthodox Martial Alliance.
"It depends… If the wine is good enough, maybe I won't kill you just yet." Old Lu chuckled, pulling up a chair to sit across from Patriarch Zhang, who roared with laughter.
His armor clinked softly as he settled in, stretching out his legs as if he were at home.
Patriarch Zhang took a bottle of wine from his spatial ring, pouring a little for himself and a little for the commander of the Golden Guard.
A strong, sweet aroma spread through the office as soon as the dark liquid filled the glasses.
"That boy is quite ruthless, isn't he?" Patriarch Zhang remarked as he took a sip, savoring the wine without haste.
"Yes." Old Lu nodded, slowly swirling the glass between his fingers. "If he doesn't end up becoming a new Long Wujin, he'll be the Celestial Demon's demise."
"If he survives long enough for that," Patriarch Zhang pointed out.
"If he survives long enough for that," Old Lu repeated with a bitter smile.
"He already has many enemies, but, honestly, the boy is an aberration. His physique is practically immortal, and his spatial abilities are at such a level that not even the Celestial Demon could dream of stopping him from escaping, even if they were face to face."
He took a sip of his own, his clear eyes drifting to the window that overlooked the beautiful garden outside.
"I've never seen the young man myself, but everyone who has seen him shares that same opinion. He'll be the terror of many demons in the war among the new generation, hahaha." Patriarch Zhang laughed, leaning back in his chair.
