Getting spoiled in a woman dominating world Chapter 628: Regret?

The morning air was cool and clear outside the mansion.
Soft sunlight filtered through the leaves of the large tree near the edge of the garden path.
Naevora stood leaning against the trunk, one shoulder resting lightly against the bark as she held her phone to her ear.
"Yeah, I am here right now at this house. You got worried for nothing."
Behind her, quiet footsteps approached across the grass.
Brandon walked up directly behind her and, without a word, brought his hand down in a firm, open-palmed slap against her ass.
*Plah* The sharp sound of the impact cut briefly through the morning stillness.
Naevora’s body jolted in surprise.
"-!"
On the other end of the line, the voice paused "...Is something wrong?"
She took a sharp breath, forcing her voice back into its usual composed tone even as a faint flush began to rise along the back of her neck.
"...No. It’s nothing."
On the other end of the line, the voice continued speaking "Anyway, tell him that I want to meethim. If he is free, he can come to the Academy, or I can just come there and meet him."
Naevora glanced back at Brandon as he slowly wrapped his arms around her waist from behind, pulling her lightly against him before resting his chin on her shoulder.
The warmth of his body settled along her back.
She stayed still for a second, then spoke in a short voice "...I’ll let him know."
She ended the call without waiting for a reply and lowered the phone.
Brandon’s hands remained loosely locked around her waist.
A moment later, he reached up, grabbed the front of her t-shirt, and pulled it downward, stretching the fabric until the soft upper curve of her cleavage was clearly exposed to the morning air.
"Who was it?" he asked, his breath faintly caressing her ear as he kept the stretched neckline pulled down.
Naevora glanced at the screen once more before it dimmed. "Esmery. She was asking about you. You disappeared for a week... of course, she was worried."
At the sound of the name, a soft sigh escaped his lips "...Esmery, huh. I should go to the academy later."
Nodding her head, Naevora replied "You should. She was very worried about you."
Then Naevora shifted slightly in his arms and turned her head just enough to glance at him from the corner of her eye.
"And let go," she muttered with a dry annoyance in her tone. "You’re going to ruin my shirt if you keep pulling at it like that."
With a chuckle, he let go of her t-shirt and the neckline slowly settled back in place.
The morning breeze moved quietly through the leaves above them, and neither of them stepped away from the other right away.
"...I’m heading out," Naevora said after a while.
Shaking his head, Brandon replied softly "Stay a little longer."
Her gaze lowered slightly "I... shouldn’t be here right now. Your family is in a complicated mess with people from the past... and another household from the present."
Her eyes drifted toward the mansion "Everything there is fragile right now, and everyone needs you."
"And I’m not really part of that, Brandon. I am just an outsider..."
His arms tightened slightly around her "Who said that? You are also my family."
Naevora closed her eyes for a brief second, a small, almost tired smile touching her lips. "I know what you mean, and I am happy," she replied gently.
"But if I am there, there will be awkward times... like the thing that happened this morning."
Hm? He tilted his head slightly "It’s not like you have never seen my dick before. We were hugging each other naked and took baths-"
Her lips twitched in irritation "That’s not the point, you brat."
Rubbing her temple "Honestly..." she muttered under her breath, shaking her head faintly. "Five hundred years, and you’re still like this."
Brandon smiled against her shoulder.
Naevora caught it immediately and shot him a flat look over her shoulder "I am serious. Me staying here would bring unnecessary complications in this house."
"I know how you see me... but right now is not the right time for me to be here."
He remained quiet for a moment "You are overthinking it."
With a shake of her head, she replied "No, you are underthinking it."
"And I am not saying I am going to disappear forever. I will still be around. But they need some space to process the things, so I am leaving..."
---
Standing under the tree, Brandon watched Naevora walking inside the mansion as she walked along the garden path and disappeared through the mansion doors.
The morning breeze moved gently through the branches above, brushing against his hair.
Rheanne appeared beside him and noticed the affection in his gaze "Seems like she is leaving."
Brandon exhaled lightly "Yeah..."
Seeing this, Rheanne tilted her head a little "I noticed when you talked about her in the past and... even now."
"You are very fond of her, aren’t you?"
Brandon’s gaze drifted away from the mansion and toward the open stretch of grass beyond.
"...She’s one of my biggest regrets."
Rheanne’s expression softened slightly at that, though she didn’t interrupt.
His voice grew quieter "When I was in the past... there were times I thought about what would happen if I never made it back to the present."
"Like... what it would mean if that life just... became my only life."
"I wasn’t unhappy at that time. I had people I care about and women who love me. I was satisfied..."
"But even then, there were things I left without fully resolving it..."
Rheanne’s expression grew serious "Naevora is one of them?"
With a nod, he spoke "With her... it was always unfinished because I never gave it the chance to become anything more."
"I always told myself there was time and that I could deal with it later. And things would just... fall into place eventually."
"I know how it sounds," Brandon muttered after a moment, glancing briefly toward Rheanne.
"I already had enough on my plate. Relationships, responsibilities... everything that came with that life."
"But with her, it was different."
His gaze drifted thoughtfully "I enjoyed my time with her. She has protected me, putting her life on the line."
"We joked. Teased each other. Crossed lines we probably shouldn’t have, and I... told myself that was enough."
"But when I got teleported to the past, I wished we could have had a better relationship than just master and disciple, and I regretted not being direct with her..."
With a chuckle, he uttered "Although... I kinda know how she sees me. She has a certain attraction towards me and is very fond of me."
"But if I say I love her... she will tease and shake it off."
He huffed out a quiet breath in resignation "Well, to be honest... I was scared, and I still am."
"What if I try to move things further and lose our current relationship too? I don’t think I can handle that."
Rheanne blinked in amazement "I am surprised to hear that from a man who has several women."
Her lips curved faintly "So you’re not afraid of rejection... you’re afraid of losing something precious."
That struck closer than he expected.
Brandon exhaled slowly, "...Yeah, you can say that."
Rheanne glanced once toward the mansion before looking back at him, "For someone who claims to be shameless, you’re surprisingly careful when it actually matters."
Brandon couldn’t help but chuckle at that "Don’t ruin my image,"
That earned a quiet laugh from her, and she leaned forward to kiss her cheek "Well I hope that one day your feelings will get reciprocated."
Smiling, he wrapped his arm around her shoulder. "When I have a supportive wife like you. i surely can."
