Qingyi requested four elite guards and a ship from his father-in-law, Tianjin, to travel to the Celestial Immortal Capital. He needed to settle a matter with the Zhang Family, specifically concerning Zhang Fei's harassment of the Divine Maiden Sect's Divine Maiden, a granddaughter of Ma Zhenwu. Tianjin agreed to send escorts and provide aid to the sect, while Qingyi was granted full authority to deal with Zhang Fei. Before departing, Qingyi was reunited with his young daughter, Lingxi.

"What's the matter, little cutie? Did you wake up already missing Daddy?" Qingyi asked playfully, reaching a hand up toward the baby perched on his shoulders.

Lingxi nodded so vigorously that her whole little body swayed back and forth, her tiny hands clinging tightly to her father's black horns while her curious eyes scanned the path ahead.

His large hand came to rest on his daughter's head, on black hair streaked with green, sliding through the soft strands with tenderness.

Lingxi let go of the horns at once, grabbing two of Qingyi's thick fingers instead and pulling them down against her cheek.

She began rubbing her face into that huge, warm palm, her little eyes closing in pure contentment.

She was just like a clingy kitten.

Qianyao, walking at Qingyi's right, couldn't help but smile at the scene.

She wasn't in any hurry to have a daughter of her own, since she didn't consider herself ready for that yet.

Even so, it was hard not to feel a slight longing whenever she saw Qingyi like this, completely melted by the little one.

She brought her right hand to her face, brushing aside a strand of white hair that kept falling over her golden eyes and tucking it gracefully behind one of her pointed ears.

They weren't like Aeryn's elven ears, but their shape was still unmistakably non-human.

"Ah… This will be the first time little Lingxi rides on a spaceship. I hope Dad asked them to prepare a cool ship and, well, something that's fast," Qianyao remarked, also reaching up toward Lingxi and gently stroking the girl's chubby cheek with the tip of her finger.

Lingxi accepted their affection without complaint, letting out soft giggles as their fingers wandered down to her little neck and tummy, and the caresses slowly turned into tickles.

She squirmed and kicked her tiny feet against her father's chest, the giggles soon turning into high-pitched laughter that echoed off the palace walls.

Qingyi only stopped when the little girl bent backward, laughing so hard she couldn't hold on anymore, and nearly fell off his back.

He caught her by the arm in a quick reflex, swinging her and cradling her against his chest. The little one was still hiccuping with leftover laughter as he quickened his pace toward the spaceship Tianjin had prepared.

The spacecraft was waiting at one of the Golden Palace's landing pads, so the walk took no more than a few hundred meters.

All they had to do was pass through one last archway of golden columns before the fresh air from outside hit their faces, carrying with it a low, constant hum that made the ground vibrate faintly beneath their feet.

Upon reaching the spacious courtyard, Qingyi's eyes fell on a modern-looking spacecraft, its hull smooth and gleaming, with four powerful mana engines mounted along its tapered frame.

It was a Lightning Nebula-class spacecraft, a model focused entirely on speed, with no onboard weapons whatsoever and very limited interior space.

The Lightning Nebula ships closely resembled a military aircraft Qingyi knew well from his time on Earth: the SR-71 Blackbird.

He had loved air combat simulation games back then, so he recognized those long, sharp lines immediately.

In short, they were so fast that they didn't need weapons—not even a powerful shield. Even the fastest Celestial Emperors simply couldn't catch up to one once it accelerated to top speed.

"Young Master Qingyi, Young Lady Qianyao, this junior greets you!"

The pilot, who had been waiting beside the boarding ramp, bowed deeply.

She was an ordinary-looking woman, with nothing particularly refined about her face or bearing, dressed in a flight suit covered in buckles and straps unlike anything else seen in the palace.

She kept her fists clasped in front of her chest, her face filled with sincere respect.

Despite her low cultivation level, she was one of the most talented pilots in the entire Alliance.

In less than ten years, she had gone from an orphaned peasant girl to one of the top aces in Tianjin's personal fleet.

Her loyalty to Tianjin went all the way to the point of death and, naturally, it covered Qianyao as well.

Moreover, she had already heard countless stories about Qingyi, each more impressive than the last, and now the man himself was standing just a few steps away from her.

"You don't have to be so formal, dear." Qianyao smiled warmly as she passed the pilot, giving her a light pat on the shoulder. "Come on, my husband is in a hurry."

The pilot froze for a moment as the couple walked past, the young lady's casual touch still lingering warm on her shoulder.

Then she straightened up in a flash, her eyes settling on Qingyi's broad back.

It was then that Lingxi, nestled in his arms, shifted slightly and finally peered out over her father's shoulder.

The baby's big, round eyes landed on the pilot, lingering on those strange clothes she clearly found amazing, and then she waved a small, chubby hand, opening and closing her tiny fingers.

The pilot could only let out a long sigh, clutching at her chest with all her might so she wouldn't melt completely from all that cuteness.

How could she be this weak in the face of one adorable little thing and still call herself a pilot in such an important fleet?

In any case, she was a married woman, and when she went on leave, her husband would suffer.

She wanted a little girl too, and he'd have to find a way to give her one!

She could already picture herself wearing the poor man down night after night to make sure of it, but for now, she had to push those thoughts aside and act professionally.

In the end, she simply quickened her pace and climbed the ramp behind them.

She boarded alongside Qingyi and Qianyao, and with them came the four Celestial Emperors who remained hidden in the shadows, following the couple without ever revealing themselves.

The door closed behind them with a soft hiss, and the hum of the engines began to climb, the vibration beneath their feet growing deeper.

It was time to pay a visit to the Immortal Celestial Capital.
