Tada, Sore Dake de Yokattan desu Afterword

Greetings. This is Ryouya Matsumura speaking.
As I pen these closing words, a flood of middle school memories washes over me. Visions of past joys and heartaches seem to race before my eyes. Those who possessed eloquence were undeniably popular, and individuals with a keen sense of their own charm attracted attention from the opposite gender. Foolish things, I thought then, yet I reveled in the camaraderie with my close friends, delighted when girls showed me favor. Still, I couldn't help but secretly envy the popular figures, often acting absurdly and tormenting myself with embarrassment—
And then, a realization dawned.
…This does indeed bear resemblance to an afterword.
Surely, other authors would craft superior 'afterwords' in their own unique fashion! Perhaps humorously recounting unexpected events from their writing journey, or something along those lines! While I grapple with describing my own unremarkable self, a celebrated author would undoubtedly be weaving tales of a captivating character, garnering a legion of fans solely through their afterwords. This is quite a challenge. This is not the moment to dwell on bygone memories! A significant issue looms 'currently!' I must devise a solution for this very afterword…
Fortunately, I gained a measure of wisdom after graduating from middle school.
At the very least, I became adept at offering compliments.
Regardless, let us commence with the expressions of gratitude.
To the two editors. Their steadfast guidance prevented my work from spiraling out of control during the editing process, and I am truly at a loss for words to convey my appreciation… I invariably reflect on my conduct after each phone conversation.
To Miss Miho Takeoka, who expertly handled the illustrations; Sayo is depicted with such coolness, cuteness, and an unnerving scariness. I shall persevere with my writing endeavors, ensuring I do not tarnish the beauty of your artwork.
To my companions from social sciences classes and college research groups, if not for your relentless critiques of my work, this novel would surely never have seen the light of publication. Concurrently, to the friends who offered their insights on my manuscript, my high school classmates, and my club associates, I must prostrate myself in thanks.
And finally, to the esteemed readers who have chosen to pick up this novel. I poured my utmost effort into its creation, striving to make it an enjoyable experience for you. Should you find yourselves dedicating 90% of your attention to playfully mocking the protagonist while reserving the remaining 10% for affection, I, as the author, would be profoundly elated. I sincerely thank you for your purchase.
…Ah, this is not mere flattery. These sentiments stem from my genuine heart.
