Death Notice Book 9 Universal Evaluation Card
Previously on Death Notice...
Qin Lun had already heard the major introduce the three remaining organizations left by the Third Reich, but he did not know much about the so-called Millennium Bug Corps.
The Hydra troops led by Red Skull were mostly ordinary people, except for Red Skull himself who was a Superhuman. Some were descendants of German intelligence agencies, some were mercenaries and agents who agreed with Nazi ideology and were bribed by Red Skull, and a few were lawmakers and high-level leaders from other countries.
Baron von Wurdenbeller’s Vampire Battalion was made up of German civilian Superhumans, namely members of the Gentlemen Alliance, along with a small number of Oranienburg special forces soldiers from the World War II era. Later on, to continue fighting, these special forces soldiers voluntarily became descendants of the Blood Clan. Their individual combat strength was the strongest among the three organizations.
The Millennium Bug Corps led by Major Montana mostly consisted of scientists from the Aryan Ark Corps. After the war, most of these people were transformed into non-humans. Most were not familiar with combat, but their physical fitness was much stronger than that of ordinary soldiers.
“The Millennium Bug Organization originally had only scientists who developed weapons and researchers who executed Superhuman plans, but after the war, many German soldiers refused to accept defeat. We secretly absorbed these people into the organization. Together with a few guards responsible for protecting the scientists, they formed an elite armed guard unit, which is the current Millennium Bug Corps.”
Major Montana noticed Qin Lun’s confusion and immediately explained with a smile, “Our numbers are between the Hydra mercenaries and the Superhumans of the Vampire Battalion. Because we retained a large number of military officers, our organization’s discipline is the best among the three organizations.”
Qin Lun nodded noncommittally, his gaze still fixed on the surveillance screen of that room.
At this time, aside from the three of them, the other five people Captain Hans brought out from the hospital were gathered in a living room. Most of these people had injuries or illnesses when they left the hospital, and they were unclear about the exact number of patients taken by the German Army, so they did not question the “disappearance” of Qin Lun and the other two.
Perhaps because the German Army had treated them well with good food and drink over the past two days, taken good care of them, their physical injuries were gradually healing, and they were not restricted in their movements, they all seemed quite calm now.
However, before Qin Lun recovered, they had already spent half a day in this living room, engaging in limited communication and conversation. Most people, after relaxing, began to consume the alcohol from the living room’s liquor cabinet and the pastries on the coffee table. After all, it was already noon, and no one had brought them any food.Seeing that all five of them had consumed the alcohol and pastries in the living room, Qin Lun did not plan to watch any longer. He apologized to Major Montana and turned to leave the bridge.
The major’s arrangement was very clever. Qin Lun admitted to himself that even he might not necessarily avoid such a soft-knife trap. After all, everyone had suffered injuries or illnesses to varying degrees over the past two days, and they had taken many medications and injections. They never imagined that after being healed by the other side, there would be tricks in the food.
It was true that Apostles and Reincarnators possessed Law Bodies. However, drugs from the Quest World could still affect them, leaving some negative states on their Law Bodies. With Grant, Lace, and a team of Millennium Bug Superhumans backing them up, the chance of these people turning the tables was almost zero.
After staying in his room for a while, Grant and Lace pushed the door open, looking pleased.
“Solved?” Qin Lun glanced at them and asked in an unfriendly tone.
“Heh, since you’ve already advanced to the Second Order, can you not be so calculating about such small gains!” Grant said with a bitter smile. He certainly knew why Qin Lun was giving them the cold shoulder. If they really found Reincarnators from the Superstring Space, the Shattered Starry Sky would definitely give rich rewards.
“Giggle, two Apostles, one Reincarnator, and two natives!” Lace made a cute funny face at Qin Lun and said with a laugh.
“One of the two natives, you actually guessed right, he was the British spy monitoring my Plot Identity!” Grant shared the prompt information from his Apostle Soul Mark with Qin Lun. “They were drugged by the Germans. Apart from a small hiccup, there were basically no other issues. The two Apostles and that Reincarnator have been dealt with; their identities were revealed after death. The remaining British spy was handed over to Major Montana!”
At the same time, relevant prompt information sounded in Qin Lun’s Death Notice.
“Apostle 70053, you and your team obtained intelligence on Reincarnators, satisfying the hunting clause of the Apostle Covenant, triggering the Death Hunting Mission.”
“Death Hunt: According to the hunting clause of the Apostle Covenant, when encountering an invasion by Reincarnators from the Superstring Space, the Death Hunting Mission takes priority over the Main Plotline. The Shattered Starry Sky will reward Apostles for actively hunting Reincarnators.
Apostles and teams receiving the hunting mission can temporarily abandon the Main Plotline of this world to carry out the hunting mission. When an Apostle team hunts a number of Reincarnators equal to the number of team members, abandoning the Main Plotline carries no penalty, and they will receive a mission evaluation equivalent to completing the Main Plotline. The rewards for the hunting mission will be calculated upon return based on the number and level of Reincarnators killed.”
“Prompt: Due to restrictions from the conflict between the two Space-Time Laws, the Reincarnator intelligence obtained by our Apostle team cannot be released to other Apostles through the Star Void for now. However, it is possible to subtly alert other Apostles using communication methods within the Quest World without disclosing Star Void secrets.”
“Prompt: While performing the hunting mission, completing the Main Plotline will raise the final mission evaluation by one grade. Hunting twice the number of Reincarnators as the team size will also raise the mission evaluation by one grade, and so on! After surpassing the Gold mission evaluation, there is a certain chance to raise the world level of the evaluation card, turning it into a universal mission evaluation card. The final quality of the evaluation card will be ‘High-Magic World Universal Gold Mission Evaluation Card’.”
“Universal mission evaluation card?” Qin Lun couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow, muttering to himself as he quickly checked the function of this new evaluation card in his Death Notice.
After the Toril World, the Female Tyrannosaurus Kelly had introduced the function of the Gold Evaluation Card to him. This type of evaluation card could be used to exchange for high-quality World Treasures related to the Toril World in the Star Void list. The Universal Evaluation Card, apart from some very special Quest Worlds, could be exchanged for World Treasures from most Quest Worlds of the relevant difficulty level.
For example, if Qin Lun obtained a Universal Evaluation Card for a Mid-Magic World, he could exchange it for Apostle equipment and World Treasures from any Mid-Magic World. Its value was enormous.
“Is there something special about this evaluation card?” Grant soon noticed something from Qin Lun’s expression.
“Giggle, I know what a Universal Evaluation Card is!” Lace explained to Grant with a playful grin. She was a newcomer specially cultivated by Lost, so her sources of intelligence were much richer than those of lone operators like Qin Lun and Grant.
Qin Lun ignored the two of them, frowning as he sank into deep thought. Understanding the value of the Universal Evaluation Card didn’t mean they could obtain such a reward.
From the current perspective, the Divine Comedy World was a peak Low Magic World. Minimally completing the Main Plotline would earn them a Black Iron mission evaluation; perfect completion would result in a Bronze evaluation. If they additionally completed a hidden plotline, such as the “Empire’s Dawn” mission, they would likely get a Silver evaluation.
On this basis, killing three First Order Reincarnators would earn them a Gold mission evaluation. However, this was only the ideal scenario. In reality, if they focused on the Death Hunt, they probably wouldn’t have time to complete the hidden mission.
In other words, the best combination to obtain a Gold Evaluation Card would be to complete the Main Plotline and kill six First Order Reincarnators along the way. However, this would still only be a Universal Gold Card for a Low Magic World. It was difficult for Low Magic World treasures to reach Legendary quality.
Although Dark Gold Equipment and recovery treasures were good, they were not worth mentioning compared to the risk of killing six elite Reincarnators. As for raising the world level of the evaluation card, it sounded tempting, but in reality, it was just a pie in the sky drawn by the Star Void, with basically no hope.
Raising a Low Magic Gold Card to a Mid-Magic Gold Card seemed like a one-level difference, but it was essentially four levels because Mid-Magic Worlds also had four mission evaluations from Black Iron to Gold.
In other words, for Qin Lun to obtain a Mid-Magic World Gold Card, besides completing the Main Plotline, the number of First Order Reincarnators he needed to kill wasn’t nine, but six plus twelve—a total of eighteen.
Of course, this was just Qin Lun’s own speculation. In reality, it might not require that many, but it would definitely exceed nine. If there were Second Order Reincarnators among them, this number might be reduced a bit more.
As for directly obtaining a High-Magic World Universal Gold Card here… well, that was simply a tall tale. Leaving aside the combat difficulty, the total number of Reincarnators the Superstring Space could send to invade a Low Magic World was probably around twenty or thirty at most.
Unless Qin Lun and the other two traveled all over the world and accurately found and captured all the Reincarnators, the High-Magic Gold Card wouldn’t even be visible on the horizon.
As soon as Qin Lun snapped out of his thoughts, he saw a large and a small head leaning close in front of him, staring at him intently.
“What do you want?” Qin Lun asked warily, glancing at Grant and Lace.
“You must have an idea, right?” Grant licked his lips and asked with an awkward smile.
“I have no idea. This time, I’ll listen to you!” Qin Lun said irritably as he stood up to pour himself a drink.
“Heh, I do have a few plans, but after thinking it over, the probability of getting a Mid-Magic Gold Card is very low. If you have a plan, tell us about it. I don’t mind being the muscle for once!” Grant was straightforward, waving his hand generously as he admitted he had no solution.
Qin Lun stroked the stubble that had just grown on his chin, his eyes flickering as he sank back into thought.
The Reincarnators sent by the Superstring Space to invade, regardless of their combat strength, at least their intelligence would not be too low.
Back then, he and Shepherd Hill received similar treatment in the Phantom Demon World. Although they were also unclassed newcomers, they were much better than pure newcomers like Jonathan, and not inferior to the three Veterans like Matthew. They were only slightly less capable than the professionals Pan Hu and Lou Ying they encountered at the Undersea Temple.
By comparison, it was clear that the invading Reincarnators this time should surpass most ordinary Apostles in strategy and individual strength, and they also had the advantage of intelligence convenience, which was a given for invaders.
However, as invaders, they would also have weaknesses. They were likely subject to greater restrictions in terms of personnel numbers and strength levels compared to the Apostle side. At the very least, after Qin Lun’s Class Change, he should be among the top tiers among the Apostles and Reincarnators in this world. He should be able to suppress most invaders, like Pan Hu and Lou Ying did back then.
Of course, this wasn’t the biggest weakness of the invaders. Their biggest weakness was…
