Strongest Necromancer System Chapter 997: Kill That Man
Previously on Strongest Necromancer System...
Jason ran his hand over his face when he was done talking, and Gina frowned as she digested everything Jason had just said! This was a lot bigger than what Gina thought! Gina had already heard that there were issues in the Marc family before, but she never thought it would be so deep that the Avarans would be choosing sides like this! At this rate, wasn’t this going to grow into a war between those who support Gregory and those who are on Jason’s side?
’An Avaran Civil War.’
This thought crossed Gina’s mind, and Gina’s first instinct at that moment was for Jason to find and kill Gregory! As far as Gina was concerned, Gregory was a threat to their family, and if he needed to die for them to have peace, then that was what they had to do! But Gina had to stop herself from thinking like that! Even though Gregory was an enemy now, he was still Jason’s family, and Jason wouldn’t want to fight against Gregory unless it was absolutely necessary. So instead, Gina said:
"What do you think Gregory wants from you?"
Jason was silent for a few seconds before he answered.
"My Necromancer power. I gained it after I received a gift from Dad on my eighteenth birthday. I think it was meant to belong to Gregory since he is the firstborn son. He might be coming after me because of it?"
"What? But your father chose to give it to you. Why would he want something that doesn’t belong to him? And is it possible for him to take it from you?"
"He can’t take it from me while I’m alive."
Once Jason said this, Gina’s face darkened, and she sat up slightly and asked:
"Gregory wants to kill you?"
Gina had spoken in such a hard tone that Jason was a little surprised by the intensity, but Jason simply nodded since he knew that this was the most likely conclusion. Jason wasn’t the first person who wielded the Necromancer System. There had been many wielders in the past, and they had all lost the system after they had died. Jason knew that the only way anyone could take this power from him was if they killed him, and Jason didn’t know how to feel about his own brother seeking his death! But Gina knew exactly what Jason had to do!
"Kill him, Jason. I was trying to hold back from saying this before because I thought he was still your brother even though you two have your differences. I thought your family bond was stronger than that. But now, it doesn’t matter anymore. No one is going to take you away from me no matter what. Even if it’s your own brother. If you have the opportunity, kill him."
Jason stared up at Gina’s intense expression with a calm look on his face. At that moment, Gina wasn’t talking like the kind or generous person that Jason knew she was; instead, Gina was talking like a woman who did not want to see her husband die. Gina was a mother who was trying to protect the life of her child’s father! And Jason could understand her perfectly! Jason had also been on the fence about whether or not he should kill Gregory all this time! It was difficult to think about killing your own brother. But Jason knew he didn’t have a choice. If someone was after his life, Jason wouldn’t hesitate to retaliate. It didn’t matter if that person was his friend or his own brother!
Jason nodded once to Gina, and he responded with only one word.
"Okay."
Jason knew that it wouldn’t be easy to find his brother, and it might take a long time before Jason actually figured out what his brother really planned to do, but if Jason ever got the opportunity to face his brother, and Jason finds out that Gregory was irredeemable, then Jason would definitely kill him!

[Later that Night]
[Hesabeth’s Office]
The office of Queen Hesabeth was a large room located in the eastern wing of her castle. The room was made from some of the highest quality materials in the entire kingdom. The floor was a polished brown mahogany, and there were multiple lights shining yellow beams down on the room. There was a large desk made from polished wood, and there was a window behind the desk that looked out over the entire kingdom! Right now, Hesabeth was seated at the desk, and she was talking to her friend and advisor, Favina, who was standing opposite her.
"How many more are there?"
Hesabeth asked while signing a few documents, and Favina brought up a large stack of papers and placed them on the table with an apologetic smile.
"There’s still quite a lot, your majesty."
Hesabeth eyed the stack of paper in annoyance, and for a moment she actually thought about the papers burning to ashes! The papers started to smoke once Hesabeth thought about that, and Hesabeth quickly pulled her thoughts back and stopped the flames from getting any stronger! Hesabeth’s wishes were usually granted by the world, so there was a real chance the world would find a way to burn the papers for her. Hesabeth had been stuck in this office for the past few hours because she had been neglecting her duties for a long time and things were starting to get too much for her to ignore any longer!
Just a few months ago, Favina had been telling Hesabeth about the upcoming harvest and trade season that would be happening, and Hesabeth had told Favina that they would be ready for it! But before Hesabeth could handle her duties back then, she ended up going to meet with Jason during his trip towards Aquinas, and right after that, Hesabeth ended up in the Merivo’s Paradise with Jason for more than a week!
If that had been the only time when Hesabeth vanished, then maybe things wouldn’t be this bad, but Hesabeth had been so busy with Jason after that time that she just didn’t have the time to handle her duties properly! And even after Hesabeth came back to Minori and Hesabeth started carrying out her duties properly, Hesabeth suddenly had the bright idea to organize a vacation for all the girls and go to the hot springs together with them!
All of these things combined together had put a serious strain on Hesabeth’s duties, and now the harvest season was going to be coming up later this week, and Minori would be opening up their borders to trade from the other worlds, so there was no way Hesabeth could put off her duties any more than this! If Hesabeth didn’t get these documents signed today, then Hesabeth would be setting the workers back by multiple weeks!
’If only my bias worked on paperwork as well. Perhaps I should just ask the world to help me with the harvests.’
Hesabeth frowned as this thought crossed her mind, and she finally let out a sigh as she took another paper to sign. But Hesabeth suddenly perked up when she felt a mana signature getting closer, and she smiled as someone walked past the guards outside and opened the door.
Ka-cha!
"Hey, Hesabeth."
Jason’s calm voice floated through the office as he entered the room, and Hesabeth’s face brightened into a wide smile once she saw him. Jason was wearing a simple pair of trousers and a robe that left some of his chest exposed, and Hesabeth couldn’t stop the childlike excitement that flowed through her body as she spoke!
"Darling! What are you doing here?"
Jason just shrugged, and he said he wanted to see her. Both Gina and Riyala had fallen asleep already, but he couldn’t sleep, so he thought he’d come see how she was doing. Hesabeth’s face grew hot once she heard this, and she quickly stood and walked around the table to hug Jason happily!
