Jason stared up at the ceiling as his thoughts travelled back towards what had happened on L’horm. Jason had already met many Avarans at this time, but this was the first time Jason was meeting someone from Avaran who thought of his father as a traitor! For some reason, that meeting refused to leave Jason’s head, and Jason wondered what a situation like this could mean for the future. The Avarans had been feared as one of the most powerful races in the Primordial Expanse, so if there was an entire army of Avarans out there backing Jason’s older brother to try and kill Jason, then Jason knew he had to take them seriously!

’Should I try to track down Gregory? I remember Hendrix said Gregory was somewhere on the edge of the Primordial Expanse. Close to something called the Primordial Veil?’

Jason frowned as he wondered what this was, and he asked the system if it had any information on the Primordial Veil in its database.

[The Primordial Veil is the magical border surrounding the world of mortals and keeping it separate from the Immortal Realm. Beyond the Primordial Veil exists the Primordial Realm where all the Primordial Races reside, and beyond that exists the realm of the Celestials.]

Jason let out a calm sigh as he read through all this, and Jason realised it would be very difficult to find Gregory. If the Primordial Veil was all around the outside of the Primordial Domain, then Gregory could be anywhere on that edge. Searching for Gregory without any clues would be pointless!

Jason felt Riyala shifting around in bed, and he looked over at Riyala and smiled as Riyala turned and tangled her leg with his own. Jason was resting back on a pillow, and he had one of his hands behind his head, but his other one was under Gina’s head with Jason’s palm wrapped around Gina’s plump breast. Jason massaged Gina’s chest absentmindedly as Jason continued thinking about what he would do next, but Jason was suddenly pulled away from his thoughts as he heard Gina speak up.

"Jason, there was something else that happened on L’horm, wasn’t there?"

Jason blinked in surprise as he felt Gina turn around to look at him! Jason honestly thought that Gina had already fallen asleep! Gina had a serious expression on her face at that moment, and Jason realised that Gina had waited for Riyala to fall asleep so she could talk to him! Jason asked Gina what she was asking about, and Gina put her hand on Jason’s chest, and she spoke in a curious voice.

"Who was responsible for planting the explosion on the academy?"

Once Jason heard that question, he let out a calm sigh! Jason should’ve known it was impossible to get something like that past Gina! When they were talking earlier, Jason had only told the girls that an explosion occurred at the academy and the Primordial Lightning Dragon appeared, but Jason didn’t tell the girls what had caused the explosion!

In truth, Jason didn’t want to tell the girls about this at all. Jason knew that telling them about the attackers would only make them worry more about him, and Jason knew he could handle things on his own with enough time! But Jason knew that this was wrong. Hiding things from the girls would only make it harder for them to help him. Jason decided that it was better to just tell them what was really going on! Gina already knew about the Court of Apostles and the other Arcane Art users, so she deserved to know about the Avaran group targeting their family.

Jason began to talk.

"I’ve been dealing with some mysterious attacks recently. You already know about the Mind Apostle by now, and I thought he was the only one that was hiding in the shadows, but I recently learned from Hendrix that there was another group forming behind the scenes. The new group is called the King’s Guard, and it’s made up of some Avarans who were displaced from our home world.

"They’re all powerhouses with mysterious abilities, but from what I’ve learned, they follow my oldest brother Gregory. One of them appeared in L’horm during my fight against the Jamani, and he confronted me. He called himself Jack the Ripper; he’s a shape shifter, and it turns out he had some vendetta against Dad. He had a partner with him, a woman called Raynear, and they were the ones who planted the explosive in the academy. I’m not sure what they were trying to achieve, but they got away before I could interrogate him properly."
