Hesabeth’s face grew hot, and she quickly stood and walked around the table to hug Jason happily! Jason hugged her back, and he kissed her softly before he finally turned to regard the other person in the room.

Favina bowed to Jason respectfully and said:

"It’s an honor to meet you, Lord Jason. Her Majesty had told me many good things about you."

Jason raised a brow at Hesabeth, and Hesabeth smiled as she introduced Favina.

"Darling, this here is Favina. She is my oldest friend and confidant and the one responsible for ensuring I do my work on time. She is very trustworthy."

Favina bowed again with a smile when Favina heard the praises being heaped on her, and Jason smiled and said hello to Favina. Jason looked towards the papers on the table, and Jason asked Hesabeth if she was going to be in here all night! There were so many documents! Hesabeth let out a calm sigh, and she said that it was her own fault for not doing her work on time!

"I allowed my fun to get in the way of my work. It’s unfortunate, but I might be stuck in here for a few more hours before I can have any free time. I’m sorry."

Hesabeth had an apologetic look on her face when she said this, and Favina was stunned when she heard Hesabeth apologise! This was the first time Favina would hear the word ’sorry’ from Hesabeth’s lips, and Favina couldn’t help but wonder what in the world had gotten into her queen! Was Hesabeth so in love with Jason that she completely lost all of her pride and ego whenever she was around him!?

Hesabeth was usually very easygoing around Favina as well, but Favina could always sense that Hesabeth was still very reserved, and Favina had never seen Hesabeth’s true self! But with Jason, it was as if all of that reservation completely fell away and Hesabeth happily showed Jason everything about her!

Jason hummed as he looked at the table filled with documents, and he asked Hesabeth if she needed any help. Hesabeth was shocked by this question, and Hesabeth was about to tell Jason that it was fine! But Hesabeth stopped when she realised that this was Jason’s way of trying to spend time with her! Hesabeth would be busy for a long time, and by the time she was done, Jason might already be preparing to leave and go back to his own domain! If Hesabeth wanted to spend time with Jason, then this might be the only way!

Hesabeth smiled and nodded towards Jason, and Jason grinned and kissed her before he followed her to the table and sat at the guest seat opposite Hesabeth. Favina watched the two overlords as they got comfortable at the table, and Favina couldn’t help but smile! It was obvious that Jason was just trying to spend some time with Hesabeth, and Favina felt a surge of appreciation rising from her heart toward Jason! For a long time, Favina had been the only person in the world who Hesabeth could confide in!

Favina was Hesabeth’s oldest and only friend, so Favina knew more about Hesabeth than anyone else! But even though Favina tried her best to always be there for Hesabeth, there were some things that Favina just couldn’t do for the prideful Queen, and she knew that Hesabeth was always holding some of her true feelings back!

So the fact that Hesabeth now had someone who could be there for her and who Hesabeth could rely on completely made Favina extremely happy!

"Favina, could you pass the documents that don’t require my direct signature? My darling will handle those."

Hesabeth spoke up and brought Favina out of her thoughts, and Favina nodded quickly and handed the documents over. Jason gave Favina a thankful smile, and Favina felt her cheeks redden when she got a closer look at Jason’s handsome face! Jason had a rugged, bad-boy type of aura that made him look very dangerous, and Favina had to turn away quickly to avoid staring at Jason for too long!

Jason and Hesabeth began to work like a well-oiled machine as they moved through all the documents. This was the first time Hesabeth would allow anyone else to handle any document without Hesabeth looking through it first, and it showed just how much trust the two of them had in each other! Favina watched from the side as the two lovers spoke in hushed voices about pointless things as they worked! Jason made a joke about one of the documents that made Hesabeth chuckle, and Hesabeth brought up another document and showed Jason how much money they would be making from their next harvest. Jason’s eyes widened, and Hesabeth laughed when Jason joked about coming to ask her for a loan if his domain ever needed it!

It was such a perfect scene that Favina could feel a surge of guilt rising from her heart just from witnessing it! It felt like a sin for Favina to be here ruining this moment, and Favina had never wanted to leave a place as much as Favina wanted to leave the office at that moment! Finally, after a few minutes passed, Favina decided that she just couldn’t stay there anymore, and Favina brought up a fake excuse:

"Your Majesty, may I be excused? I forgot to tell Casen that I’d stay out late and I think he would be worried about me."

Casen was Favina’s husband, and Favina knew that Casen wouldn’t even be worried since Favina already told him that she would be working with the Queen tonight. But the excuse still worked, and Hesabeth didn’t even look away from Jason as she waved Favina away! Favina smiled and bowed to Jason and Hesabeth one last time before she left them alone in the room! Once she was gone, Jason spoke up.

"You know she was lying, don’t you?"

Hesabeth just chuckled as a surge of amusement rose from deep inside her.

"Favina was always a terrible liar. But I appreciate her intention, so I didn’t feel the need to call her out on such an obvious lie."

Jason huffed and smiled in amusement as well before he went back to signing the documents. Hesabeth tapped on one of the papers and spoke up with a curious tone.

"One of the farmers is asking for more workers since his harvest doubled from last year. I’ll have to send soldiers to help him out."

Jason raised a brow when he heard this.

"Is that normal? Isn’t the soil meant to get weaker after a harvest season?"

Jason knew that whenever a particular area is harvested, the soil would get weaker, and that would prevent the next harvest from yielding as much food as the previous one! At least that was the way things worked on Earth! But Hesabeth shook her head, and she said that Minori was different.

"We usually have high yields no matter how many times we use a soil. Our land is very fertile, so we can plant all year long without worrying about depleting the nutrients."

That was pretty awesome. Jason couldn’t help but think like this when he heard Hesabeth’s explanation. If things worked like that on Earth, then they would be able to solve world hunger in almost no time! Jason went back to working on his document, and Hesabeth followed his lead and began signing her own share as well. But every now and then, Hesabeth would look up from her documents and steal a glance at Jason’s face! Jason had a look of concentration, like he was trying his best not to make any mistakes on the documents, and Hesabeth felt her cheeks heating up the longer she watched him! It felt like Jason was a teacher in an academy looking through coursework, and just the thought of Jason as her personal teacher made Hesabeth’s stomach burn with desire!
