Strongest Necromancer System Chapter 813: The Weekly Visit
Previously on Strongest Necromancer System...
Thanks to the powerful beasts, the Alpha Squad experienced immense growth over the last two months! Initially, all ten members and their beasts were required to clear an Orange Gate. Now, however, only five members suffice for such a task, allowing the remaining five to assist other guild members with different gates! Francis recognized that this significant improvement was directly attributable to the beasts Jason had provided. He let out a soft sigh, pondering when Jason would make his return.
'He should be back any day now, I'm sure of it. It's frustrating that we can't contact him, but as long as the beasts remain, I know he's alive. After all, summoned creatures cannot persist in this world if their summoner perishes. Therefore, I am confident he will return.'
RATATATATATATA!
"Please make way! Clear the area!"
The distinct sound of a helicopter vibrated through the area. A nearby policeman urgently instructed everyone to step aside to allow the helicopter to land safely. Numerous police officers and agents from the SMD battle division were present, swiftly moving the crowd back. Francis looked up at the approaching helicopter with a faint hum, then turned to his team, instructing them to stand by. He began walking towards the aircraft, removing his gloves. The helicopter bore the prominent golden 'M' insignia of the Monarch Guild, leading Francis to deduce that only an individual with significant authority would utilize the Guild's helicopter so casually. A stunning woman with long, blonde hair emerged from the helicopter. She was dressed in a white trouser suit that accentuated her figure, complemented by white leather gloves and sunglasses. This was Juliet, the esteemed Managing Director of the Monarch Guild and the head of the Magical Core and Artifact Processing Department!
"Madam Juliet! Has something happened!?"
Francis hurried over to Juliet upon seeing her. Juliet, shaking her head, glanced at her watch before speaking.
"I was just waiting for you to conclude with the gate. I was planning my weekly visit and wondered if you'd care to accompany me this time."
Juliet offered a smile as she said this, her eyes twinkling with amusement at Francis's visibly delighted reaction. Anyone witnessing Francis at that moment would be taken aback, seeing a stark contrast to his usual stern expression. Yet, Juliet understood the reason for his sudden cheerfulness. Juliet was among those who had missed Jason the most since his departure! Her company, Tenet, had experienced remarkable success following her initial business venture with Jason, rapidly becoming recognized as one of the world's most rapidly expanding conglomerates. All this prosperity was owed to Jason. Juliet had been utterly astonished to learn that Jason and Gina were on the run due to an interdimensional affair. For several days after the news broke, Juliet felt lost, uncertain of her next steps. While she knew she could manage the company in Jason's absence, the uncertainty about his well-being gnawed at her. However, this unease dissipated after a visit to the restaurant where Jason's mother, Mira Marc, worked. She confided her worries to Mira. Mira encouraged Juliet, urging her not to succumb to despair and to persevere for Jason's sake. Mira assured Juliet that Jason would be perfectly fine and would return even stronger. However, it would be a pity if Jason returned to find his company neglected. Thus, Mira implored Juliet to carry on!
That conversation provided Juliet with the necessary motivation. She immediately assumed leadership of the Monarch Guild in Jason's absence and intensified efforts to organize even more gate raids. For the past two months, Francis had capably led the guild's combat division, while Juliet expertly managed all administrative and recruitment matters. In a mere two months, Juliet expanded the guild's membership and influence, transforming it into the largest guild in the entire nation! The Monarch Guild now boasted a roster of over two hundred superhumans spread across five branches nationwide. Although the main branch in Riverdale remained the hub of activity, the other branches consistently generated substantial revenue each month.
With at least one member of the Alpha Squad present in every branch to handle any severe Gate raids, and Katarina now under Jason’s protection as per the government’s directive, Juliet was afforded the ability to leverage Katarina’s support ability. This gift significantly bolstered the strength of numerous weaker guild members, enabling them to keep pace with their more formidable counterparts! The synergy between Katarina’s enhancement, the support from the Legion, and the sheer might of the superhumans rendered any other guild incapable of matching the Monarch Guild’s prowess. Consequently, many guilds began to dissolve as their members flocked to join the ranks of Monarch!
Presently, the Monarch Guild stood as the preeminent and largest guild in America. Its revenue streams from the sale of Mana cores and artifacts had become so substantial that Juliet was contemplating the establishment of a dedicated Monarch Bank solely for the guild’s financial operations! However, amidst this burgeoning success, Juliet had also integrated a weekly visit to the Marc restaurant into her routine. This practice served partly as repayment for Mira’s invaluable advice offered months ago. Moreover, Juliet utilized these visits as an opportunity to discreetly monitor Mira and ensure the smooth operation of the restaurant on behalf of Jason!
Upon learning of Juliet's visits, a considerable number of guild members expressed their eagerness to patronize the restaurant. This prompted Juliet to firmly prohibit any further individual visits to prevent overwhelming Mira. Instead, Juliet adopted a new approach, selecting one or two guild members each week to accompany her. This selection process had evolved into a significant event within the guild, with members actively vying for the coveted opportunity to visit the Marc restaurant alongside Juliet. An elaborate betting pool had even emerged, with participants wagering hundreds of thousands of dollars weekly for this privilege. Juliet, for her part, strove to remain detached from these enthusiastic displays of the guild members. Yet, at this very moment, Juliet was acutely aware that the one individual who would desire a visit to that particular establishment above all others was Francis, and interestingly, not even for Mira's sake!
Juliet's initial encounter with Janet occurred when she had engaged a superhuman instructor to mentor both Janet and Maya in the control of their extraordinary strength. Juliet possessed no insight into the origin of Janet and Maya's abilities but acknowledged their familial connection to Jason, choosing not to probe further. When Janet later arrived at the Monarch Guild and encountered Francis, Juliet bore witness to Francis's immediate and undeniable infatuation with Janet – a clear case of love at first sight! While Juliet herself harbored skepticism regarding the notion of 'love at first sight,' she could not dispute the undeniable evidence of her own eyes that day. In the ensuing days, Juliet observed Francis's rather clumsy and persistent attempts to find ways to get closer to Janet.
