The Alpha Squad's strength and numbers have grown significantly thanks to Jason's summoned beasts. Just as Francis wonders when Jason will return, Juliet, the Managing Director of the Monarch Guild, arrives by helicopter. She invites Francis to accompany her on her weekly visit to Jason's mother's restaurant.

Juliet found herself an unwilling bystander to a budding romance, witnessing firsthand as Janet unceremoniously relegated Francis to the friend zone without a second thought! It wasn’t that Janet disliked Francis, but to Juliet’s perceptive eyes, Janet showed absolutely no interest in romantic entanglements. Though many men attempted to woo Janet due to her striking beauty, she dismissed them all, and Juliet surmised that Janet’s frigid demeanor likely stemmed from past heartbreak, a topic Juliet wisely chose not to broach.

Yet, Francis proved to be a persistent suitor, relentlessly pursuing Janet! Whispers and jokes circulated throughout the guild concerning his efforts, some even placing bets on whether Janet's brother, Jason, would eventually deliver a fatal blow to Francis for daring to court his sister. Juliet, however, shielded Francis from this knowledge, content to observe the unfolding love story between the two young individuals. After more than two months since their initial meeting, Juliet finally sensed a shift in their dynamic! While not yet a couple, they had blossomed into close friends, and Juliet was certain of their mutual affection. A relationship seemed imminent, that is, unless Jason decided to intervene.

"The restaurant ought to have that new Brazilian barbecue sauce today, so I’m going to try it out and check on Mira. I heard reporters have been frequenting the place lately, so I need to ensure they aren’t causing any trouble. Let’s go."

"Wait, Madam Juliet, you're taking Francis to the restaurant again!? You just took him two weeks ago! I haven't been in about a month!"

As Juliet was about to board the helicopter, she paused when a voice from behind Francis interrupted her. It belonged to another member of the Alpha Squad. This man, characterized by his short brown hair and robust physique, was an SS-rank brawler. He commanded three Diamond Bear subordinates and was widely recognized as the guild's strongest in terms of raw physical power. His name was George Bulstrud, and upon seeing him, Juliet let out an exasperated click of her tongue! Pointing an accusatory finger at George, Juliet declared with evident irritation, "I’m not taking you back there. The last time you visited, you nearly cleared out Mira’s entire inventory, forcing us to restock everything! If you’re hungry, order some takeout or something! Come on, Francis."

George’s face fell into a pout as Juliet turned and entered the helicopter. As superhuman beings, all members of the Monarch Guild possessed voracious appetites, and their visits to Mira’s restaurant invariably involved consuming vast quantities of food! George, however, was an outlier, an extreme even by their standards. His previous visit had nearly depleted Mira’s complete stock! While the Monarch Guild financially supported the Marc restaurant, ensuring Mira suffered no direct losses from the food consumed, it was a matter of pride and principle! Juliet had been mortified in front of her benefactor’s mother. The thought of taking George anywhere near the restaurant again was out of the question.

Francis offered George a consoling pat on the shoulder, a chuckle escaping him, as the rest of the Alpha Squad could only watch the helicopter ascend, its destination the Marc restaurant.

In the intervening months, the Marc restaurant had undergone a significant transformation. Mira Marc, steadfast in her refusal to abandon the establishment where she and her husband began their venture years ago, found her district evolving dramatically once news of Jason’s mother's restaurant ownership reached the wider media. The surrounding area experienced an unprecedented revitalization, giving rise to luxury hotels and five-star dining establishments. The SMD even established a satellite office mere blocks away, ostensibly for the area's protection. Property values in the entire block had skyrocketed, increasing tenfold within the last two months alone. However, Mira remained unconcerned about rent, as Jason had already purchased the building outright for her. The Marc restaurant now occupied the entire structure, with the ground floor dedicated to casual fast food and the upper levels reserved for events and fine dining.

Ratatatatata!

The distant roar of a Monarch helicopter grew louder, and the craft banked smoothly, descending towards the helipad atop a grand hotel just blocks from Mira’s restaurant! Juliet and Francis disembarked as the helicopter swiftly ascended, making way for another.

This establishment, the Red Lotus, was renowned for hosting elite society members, ensuring a constant stream of arriving helicopters from across the globe! Juliet peered down at Mira’s restaurant, a smile gracing her lips as she observed its customary full occupancy. Increasingly, the establishment attracted not ordinary patrons, but celebrities, politicians, and the ultra-wealthy!

’All those luxurious vehicles parked outside; it’s more than last time. That one belongs to Catty Vine, the actress, and that one hails from a Senate House member. The security detail is also more substantial than before. Are those Secret Service agents in the black suits? That implies a presidential relative might be inside. I believe that limousine belongs to the Fantano family. We’ve been engaged in Mana stone dealings with them for some time. The family head’s daughter favors the cuisine here, so it’s likely hers.’

Juliet swiftly assessed the caliber of individuals within the restaurant, exhaling softly in realization that it was another full house. She signaled Francis, who scooped her into his arms, bridal style, and leaped from the rooftop, landing with feather-light grace! While they should have opted for the stairs, as utilizing superhuman abilities outside a gate was illicit, the penalty for such a jump was a mere two thousand dollars—a sum Juliet earned in less than a second! Thus, she gladly paid the fine to circumvent the few minutes required for a descent. As they neared the restaurant, Juliet noticed the vigilant guards stationed around, their gazes filled with suspicion. Yet, upon recognizing Juliet and Francis, their demeanor shifted, and they relayed over their comms that no threat was present.

Juliet proceeded towards the entrance, halting abruptly as someone emerged.

"Ah, Madam Juliet. It is a genuine pleasure!"

The speaker was a balding man with a jovial grin. He possessed brown hair and stood slightly shorter than Juliet, but his infectious smile compelled Juliet to return it! This gentleman was the president of an A-rank guild that had recently established itself in Riverdale, and Juliet had encountered him multiple times at the Gate Auctions held by the SMD, where guilds vied for the rights to gates. Juliet inclined her head slightly in acknowledgment.

"The pleasure is all mine, President Falco."

"Bah, I've implored you to simply call me Falco. It would be my utmost honor to hear my name uttered by a lady as exquisite as yourself! Haha! Oh, and look! It’s young Francis! I understand your party vanquished an Orange Gate just moments ago, and you are already on the move again! The youth of today are so full of vigor! Hoho!"
