Diane is passed over for Overlord of the Sixth Domain, her fury directed at Jason before she is stopped. Jason orders a subordinate to follow Diane and infiltrate her world. Jason is then officially declared the Overlord of the Sixth Domain by the council, accepting the position and gaining the highest authority.

In a separate chamber within the Stone Catacombs, Riyala gasped, her gaze snapping towards the Hall of Heroes, wide-eyed! She had just sensed Jason’s mana surge towards her, instantly understanding that he had been chosen as the new Overlord! A broad grin bloomed across her face, and an undeniable restlessness seized Riyala as she impatiently awaited the meeting’s conclusion!

Across the entirety of the Sixth Domain, the leaders of various high-tier worlds experienced a parallel realization, sensing Jason’s mana signature, the unmistakable sign of their new Overlord! Within mere months, Earth was poised to welcome dignitaries from across the Primordial Expanse. Both Gaia and the Superhumans Management Department would soon be swamped with the monumental task of hosting these distinguished guests from myriad worlds! However, that was a future concern for Jason to address. For the present moment, Jason reveled in the freshly acquired authority!

For a considerable duration, Jason consistently voiced his disinterest in positions of power, citing an aversion to political entanglements. He was content with possessing sufficient strength to safeguard his loved ones! Yet, the harrowing events involving Rubik had starkly illuminated Jason's deficiency: mere physical prowess was no longer adequate. He had been utterly at Rubik's mercy, a consequence of his lack of the requisite authority. Physical might, he now grasped, was a hollow shield without the backing of legitimate power; one false accusation could swiftly transform strength into criminality.

Jason understood that continued indifference to the political landscape could lead to further dire consequences, especially if the council were to select an Overlord for his domain who harbored ill intentions. Therefore, to circumvent such a predicament, Jason concluded that assuming the position himself was the most prudent course of action. He acknowledged the immense workload ahead, fully anticipating future moments of regret and hair-pulling frustration stemming from this self-imposed burden. Nevertheless, Jason also recognized that he had finally secured the confluence of physical and political power necessary to guarantee his world’s immunity from further troubles within this Domain. From his perspective, this ultimate security was well worth any ensuing difficulties.

"Overlord Jason. Might you grace the high seats with your presence?"

Hesabeth finally broke the silence, directing a smug glance at Rak’hael, and Jason let out a soft chuckle at Rak’hael’s furious glare. Gina squeezed Jason’s hand, her pride evident, and Jason leaned down to bestow a small kiss upon her before stepping forward. A portal shimmered into existence before him, and he passed through. Another aperture materialized at the high seat opposite Hesabeth. Jason emerged, exhaling a tranquil sigh as he absorbed the Hall’s grandeur from this elevated vantage point. The council members observed Jason with placid expressions, allowing him to fully absorb the magnitude of his newfound power. Each member had undergone a similar, awe-inspiring experience upon assuming their own seats, rendering them deeply empathetic to Jason’s current emotions.

Contrary to the council’s assumptions, Jason felt no awe, no solemn wonder. Instead, a wave of amusement washed over him. His gaze descended to the central arena, the usual stage for council trials, and a smile touched his lips. Had he not stood in that very spot mere months ago, branded a criminal? And now, he occupied the seat of his accuser. The irony was palpable! Jason moved with measured grace, settling into the high seat designated for the Sixth Domain. He then surveyed the individuals seated beside him. To his left sat T’arigan, the gruff dwarven leader of Foragen. T’arigan emitted a low rumble and offered a curt nod as their eyes met. Jason returned the gesture. Casting his gaze to his right, he found Baron Skarr, the formidable dragon lord of Vulcan, seated there. The Baron inclined his head in a show of respect, which Jason mirrored. Finally, Jason’s attention shifted to Rak’hael, positioned at the far end of the room, whose narrowed eyes bore into him with palpable animosity. Jason smirked, guessing Rak’hael might suddenly unleash laser beams from her eyes given the intensity of her glare!

'She truly despises me.'

Jason chuckled lightly, deciding to set Rak’hael aside for the moment. He leaned back, resting an elbow on the armrest and propping his cheek on his closed fist. Yes, this was certainly an agreeable situation.

A low hum emanated from Jason as these system notifications materialized before him, which he promptly dismissed with a casual gesture. Naturally, Jason relished the acquisition of more knowledge, recognizing information as the paramount currency for success in this chaotic existence. However, a part of him had also held out hope for a new Legion Skill to enhance his capabilities.

'Still, increased charisma isn't entirely unwelcome; I suppose I shouldn't be overly demanding. At the very least, influencing others to comply with my wishes should become significantly simpler.'

Jason internally affirmed this thought with a nod before shifting his attention to Baron Skarr, who had just broken the silence.

"I presume the formal inauguration ceremony will be deferred to a later date? It is imperative that he be introduced to the Heads of the Elder Worlds prior to his official acceptance as a council member."

The other council members concurred with nods of agreement. Jason, however, merely raised an eyebrow, a flicker of curiosity piquing as the term "Elder Worlds" registered in his mind.

[The Elder Worlds constitute a formidable amalgamation of exceptionally potent realms situated within the Primordial Expanse. During the tumultuous Period of Lawlessness, these worlds reigned supreme, exerting dominion over vast territories within the Primordial Expanse.]
